Black Swan Hostel Sevilla

Un chico tuvo bedbugs en su cama, por lo que tuve que cambiarme de habitación. El hostel es muy ambiente joven y fiesta, quise ir a dormir una siesta y encontré a una pareja en mi cuarto compartido. El precio los fines de semana es bastante alto.

bedbugs, sorry. great place though, but they don’t clean. and you really need to clean to accommodate so many of these types of travelers. in all other respects, super fun! great communal kitchen!

Honestly, I loved my stay here! The staff were very friendly and the beds were very comfortable and have great privacy curtains. Unfortunately, my bed did have bed bugs, but the staff were very attentive and responsible about it, and helped me with it tremendously. Despite this, I would still highly recommend staying here.

room 208-found a bed bug on the curtain of the bed below mine & the person in that bed got a refund & they offered to wash her clothing but i did not get the same offer even though we shared the bunk & i found the bug when i was getting into bed. moved us into a room with something broken on floor, multiple screws on floor. honestly spend a little extra and go somewhere nicer & cleaner. also roommates? or workers? randomly pulled my curtain back when i was sleeping my last morning there. weird

I hate to say this but I have to. I saw two bed bugs at midnight in room 108-3. I found other reviews mentioned this so I guess it's not an accident.

Honestly this is a tough one. Great location, staff, and guests made this a very fun stay. Amenities are good, but one of my friends who was another guest found bed bugs here… so there’s that..

Good social hostel and location, but not clean. Got bedbugs for the first time in my life and I travel extensively. The mattresses are filthy (I have photos), just uncover them if/when you check in and take a look. I was refunded for my stay, but comments from Google reviews and the staff tell me that the bedbugs are a known issue that they are lax to fix and are happy to just take the hit from whoever asks for a refund if it means they don’t need to treat the building for bedbugs.

I stayed at this hostel and, unfortunately, experienced bed bug bites during my stay, which was incredibly distressing. While the staff was polite, I was concerned about the lack of preventative measures at the time. However, the manager later reached out to me, issued a refund, and assured me that proper precautions will be taken to address the issue. I appreciate their responsiveness and hope they follow through to ensure this doesn’t happen to future guests.

Kitchen too overcrowded. It seemed like some people lived there as they'd be in the kitchen all day making it a socializing area. It was hard to find space to cook for yourself. The bathrooms had no privacy. You could hear everything. One of the girls thought she found bed bugs, I'm not sure what happened afterwards because she left. My bed was fine but that was a bit stressful. The drawer is basically just flooring.

BEWARE OF BED BUGS! Check your bed! Bitten in first 2 nights. Upon inspection, all around the mattress were skin cells, hair and other human debris and paper room card left by previous sleeper(s) which I used to squash a moving satiated bug! Sheets were clean but blankets as informed, were only laundered occasionally. On the 3rd day, got moved to a different room and had no incidents thereafter. Manager was very kind, empathetic, apologetic and supportive throughout the resolution of the problem. He assisted me with washing and drying of my clothes, vacuuming my baggage, and refunded part of the stay (Thank you and much appreciated, Diego!) Though I was assured the new bed was clean, there were still some bio debris under the mattress, so I used the vacuum myself and vacuumed on, under and around the mattress and the locker space below. Suggestions for hostel improvement: Hooks at bunks to hang personal belongings (many travellers had brought up in the past); more diligence in cleaning (especially nooks and corners) and vacuuming of beds after each change of sheets; reflective markers in room (bed numbers or arrows?) will facilitate safe navigation in/out of room after dark. Hair dryer on 2nd floor didn’t work during my stay and toilets overflowed at least once. Overall, the rooms and furniture could use some update. The soap dispenser in the washrooms barely squirt out soap even with a lot of effort. On night of my arrival, someone asked reception for a Bandaid. After briefly looking around, young man behind the reception said they had none. Do consider an accessible first aid kit for something as basic as a bandaid.

The hostel experience was really nice. The staff is very nice and helpful, i feel like they are for their clients. The vibe there is really good, there is shared kitchen and a place were you can chill with other visitors. There are also some activities every day. After checking out you can leave the luggage there and also use the shared spaces which is a nice gesture from there. Overall staying there was a pleasant experience. The only thing which is a little disturbing. When i arrived after the first night a girl staying in my room told me that she saw a bug and that it might be a bed bug. She showed me a photo but I couldn't tell. Me and my friend haven't seen any bugs after that tho.

Bedbugs! Common spaces are tatty/tired need renovation and not much space. Bathrooms are tight for space.

I found bed bugs in my bed. Je suis resté une nuit. J'ai passé une nuit horrible à me faire piquer par les punaises de lit ! Le matin il y en avait une sur moi. Le personnel était au courant qu'il y en avait et ça avait été traité paraît il... Ils ne sont pas méchants mais il faut fermer cette chambre ou l'étage pour traiter les punaises ! Sinon l'hôtel est bien placé.

After my second night, I woke up covered in bedbug bites—over 100 in several days, indicating more than just a couple of bedbugs, but a full infestation. Despite this, the woman at the reception initially suggested a different room, but I insisted on leaving the hostel immediately. Eventually, she agreed to fully reimburse me, which I plan to spend on cleaning my clothes at a laundry service. The room wasn't properly cleaned during my stay; the only action taken by the cleaning service was removing the cardboard piece from my door indicating I wanted the room cleaned. This experience completely ruined my holidays.

I have mixed feelings about Black Swan. It had a great social area and free dinner for the first 30 people to sign up so you made friends. A nice terrace for tanning and drying clothes. They only had curtains for the beds in certain rooms. But most disappointing of all, I woke up to several bites and found a live bed bug. I changed rooms and hostels quickly after that.

The hostel itself is perfectly located in the center of the city. Unfortunately it lacked cleaning. The rooms were okay since they cleaned every day the floor but the toilet and bathroom situation is just disgusting. Other than the hostel is not as social or offers lots of activities as it is claimed. My friend even found a bed bug in her bed. So even tho the basics where there it lacked on major things. So personally I wouldn't recommend it.

Bed bugs!!! And a fridge that dripped water all over my food. Only volunteers working there, avoided the situations completely. Everyday a volunteer would empty out the fridge, scrape out the excess water, and place all the food back inside….

The bathrooms need definitely more attention when it comes to cleaning, especially in the showers area. Same for the beds and bedsheets - I was bitten by bed bugs during the stay unfortunately.

My room (203, bed 6) had bed bugs. I woke up with bites on my face that I had assumed was mosquitos. The second night I had 5 bites on my left arm, one on my chest, a couple on my legs. Went to reception and was offered a room change and free laundry. I took it as the hassle of moving was off putting. No reimbursement whatsoever was offered (I have email proof of this). My last night I had 5 new roommates, a family it seemed, super disruptive (not the hostels fault) however when brought up with reception that two of them were smoking IN THE ROOM and flicking on and off their lighter IN THE ROOM they were allowed to stay and I had to move AGAIN at 2:30am. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

At first glance, it seemed very nice with good atmosphere as well as clean. However, there is a bedbug infestation that when we notified the staff they seemed remarkably unconcerned. We were promised a refund as we did not even stay one night but later found out that they still charged us for our full stay. It was extremely disappointing and I do not recommend that you stay here.
