Sky Hostel Negombo

I booked one night in this hostel, when I arrived at 10pm they told me they forgot to close the booking and there is no free bed. They organised another hostel for me. It leaves a bad aftertaste. You should double check if you have beds available or not otherwise close the booking so people can look for another accommodation

❌❌ Insécurité ++, pas de clé sur les casiers, 100$ ont disparu de mon sac suite à mon séjours dans cet hostel !! les portes ne ferment pas (ni chambre ni salle de bain!!) Dès l’arrivée, nous ne nous sommes pas senties en sécurité. Lors du check in, on nous a demandé de repayer l’acompte pour lequel j’avais déjà été débitée, on nous a demandé de prendre une chambre plus chère car apparemment il ne restait plus la chambre qu’on avait choisie. et j’en passe… bref q...

Toilette hat nicht funktioniert

I would not recommend staying here - lots of mould on the bedroom wall and a bad smell. The bathroom has lots of flies and the ceiling is also covered in mould.

We notified the staff of bed bugs and they still continued to check people in to the beds they knew had bugs in them! The staff was nice but really disappointed with the hostel conditions

Would NOT recommend , staff were disrespectful as a guest staying there I did not expect the hostel staff to play music in next room until 4/5am. Asked repeatedly to stop music so I could sleep and was just lied to. Property is not as clean as photos. I did not feel safe as told no one is staying in my room and then a hostel staff member said he would sleep in my room did not feel safe

Gave me the wrong directions both on my booking confirmation and also when I what’s apped them to confirm so I had a horrible experience finding the place. Showers were cold. They told me it broke last night. But found out by the other guests it hadn’t been working for at least a week.

Mold in the dorms and bathroom, and had a really strong smell in the dorms. Staff was friendly and the hostel is close to the beach and restaurants.

Pros: this hostel has a good location and a good price.ACworks. it's also a spot where is a lot of fluctuation and you meet people that come and go. But I also there are several cons: the bathroom is simply not clean. I didn't wanna touch anything in there because apparently no one really takes care of it. the other thing is that there is staff missing to give the place some atmosphere. the owner is friendly tho and if you just wanna safe money, it's good enough.

Die Unterkunft war in Ordnung. Nicht ganz sauber und als wir angekommen sind, war niemand da und wir wussten nicht genau, was Sache ist. Als die Besitzer da waren, waren diese sehr hilfsbereit und haben uns mit dem Bus weitergeholfen. Leider hatte nur davor niemand auf unsere Mails geantwortet, bezühlich des Flughafenshuttles. Es gab leider keinen Schlüssel und die Haustür ist offen geblieben, was ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig ist, wir haben uns aber nicht unsicher gefühlt. Alles in allem ...

This was one of the best hostel Ive ever stayed at. I felt like I was at home and I felt very welcomed by the staff. I felt super safe during my stay. The location is central and the staff are very helpful when it comes to accommodating any needs and giving travel help. A big thankyou to everyone especially Sahan.

Me and my friend stayed at the hostel for one night. The location was super good, and it was super clean. The only problems there were while we were there, was that one of the toilets was broken, and there were almost never toiletpaper on the other one. There were also only one working securitylocker. But besides from that, it was really a nice place with an amazing atmosphere.

Sooo I mean the staff was AMAZING, like so helpful and nice, I was arriving in the middle of the night and they had a spare bed so I could sleep there for free, the café nearby was also cute. I mean the beds are alright but the toilets and showers are really quiet at the edge of disgusting (also the kitchen🙈).. but the cute staff and the fun people I met make it up I think. I mean for one night its really alright and its near at the beach which is nice!

Really lovely hostel with lovely staff

This hostel is very near Negombo’s highstreet, but it is hidden in a residential road, combining good location with chill atmosphere. The boss Charaka is a legend and very helpful. Facilities are basic but did the job - not all rooms have AC. Considering this it it good value for money. Also, the garden is perfect for chilling in.

Very nice staff!!! So kind and helpful! It’s absolutely worth the price. Helped us with everything and made sure we got food when we arrived in the middle of the night! Fixed good prices on taxi as well!

Host was extremely welcoming and inviting, would definitely recommend stopping here.

Leuke kleine plek om te verblijven, niet te veel verwachten. Personeel is zeer vriendelijk! Locatie erg prettig.

Basic and fine for one night, location pretty good and bed comfy not really a great vibe though

I am from Kandy I got stuck here for the floods which is a natural disaster currently happening in Sri Lanka , the owner Mr Manoj and the Host Charaka treated me with the utmost humility , I will always treasure my time with them . The hostel is wonderful , very clean and the best location within Negombo beach and the airport , this is a wonderful place to start or end your trip in Sri Lanka . The team is always willing to help , Thankyou Sky Hostel ❤️

Excellent hostel I highly recommend staying here

Lovely workers and social atmosphere. Met great people there. One of the bathrooms was broken and the other one had a huge hole in the door and no lock. So at the first night there was only one bathroom to be used, though they fixed the door the next day. The bathrooms were a bit dirty, rooms were clean. The common spaces were really warm bc there was no ac.

The bedside charging point was not working and no hot water in shower.

Fantastic hostel. Basic but had everything we needed. Staff couldn't have been friendlier, anything we needed they were more than happy to help. Navi was a legend. Clean rooms and bathroom. Nice social vibe, and 20% off at the cafe at the end of the road. Would definitely recommend.
