The breakfast My husband got bed bug bites from his bunk!!! It made us stressed the whole trip that we were carrying them with us. No matter how kind the staff or good the breakfast and view was, it was not worth the stress of a bed bug infestation.

Location Bed bugs. I got skin reaction after being bitten by them. Couldn't sleep because of itchiness and swelling.

Por la mañana tuve que ducharme antes de salir de allí y tuve que lavar toda mi ropa y mochila para prevenir. No sólo era en mi cama, era en toda la habitación. La recepcionista me dijo que me hacía el reembolso del alojamiento, cosa que no fue así y después de reclamar varias veces, por fin conseguí el reembolso. La chica dijo que bloquearía la habitación para que viniera a fumigar pero visto los comentarios anteriores, no me creo absolutamente nada. Espero que pase por allí sanidad.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und der Aufenthaltsbereich war gemütlich. Leider überwiegen für mich dennoch die negativen Erfahrungen deutlich. Das Zimmer war unfassbar unsauber. Nach nur einer Übernachtung hatte ich über 40 Bettwanzenbisse. Zusätzlich war die Toilette auf dem Zimmer nicht funktionsfähig. Ich finde es absolut erschreckend und nicht akzeptabel, Gäste unter solchen Bedingungen unterzubringen. Besonders enttäuschend ist, dass offenbar nichts bzw. nicht ausreichend gegen diese Probleme unternommen wird.

My email got ignoed when initially told I could cancel that night anytime due to dust mites/bed bug allergic reaction on my initial stay. Initial stay was horrible : did not sleep due to getting bitten/intense skin reaction to the bed (bed almost on floor and very dusty, dodgy bedsheets). Spent rest of holiday being super itchy, with marks everywhere, needing to spend money on creams. I'd stay clear despite the great location, not worth the risk. Hostel hat Bettwanzen und lässt Leute dennoch dort übernachten. Personen wechseln dann in andere Hostels der Stadt und verschleppen die Viecher. Unverantwortlich! Refund war kein Problem! Abgesehen davon war die Sauberkeit auch sehr schlecht insgesamt, vor allem in den Baderäumen. Matratzen waren befallen, dreckig und feucht/modrig!

Good location- but doesn't make up for this being the worst place I've ever stayed in over 2 decades of traveling BED BUGS. So. Many. Bedbugs. -moldy bread for breakfast - no staff overnight - still no refund. WORST HOSTEL. I was already composing my bad review in my head about the filthy showers, lack of ventilation in the bathrooms, overall griminess, the fact that there was a leaky pipe over someone's bed in my room that just had a ziplock bag over it . ..but on the second night I found bedbugs in my bed. I alerted my roommates- all their beds had bedbugs too. We called the emergency number because the hostel has no staff overnight. They had us move to another room. We flipped over the mattresses in the new room - crawling with bed bugs. And the corners of the mattresses were black with bed bug feces. This was a full blown, long term infestation that the management had apparently not done anything about. Called the emergency number again. They said they couldn't find us a place in another hostel that night. They didn't try to find us a hotel. We slept in the lobby. Next morning at breakfast discovered the bread was way past the expiration date and was moldy. Was told I would get a refund - still waiting. And still at a loss how I'm supposed to treat all my luggage while traveling. I've stayed in some bad hostels over the last 20 years but this was the ABSOLUTE WORST HOSTEL I'VE EVER STAYED IN.

Check in, even late was made easily available but weird that one had to put on their own bedsheets. You have a box to put your things in but not key made available for it. No curtains for bed so no privacy possible in bedroom and very limited space with showers to have your things/get changed. But mainly I had a horrible experience with having a reaction to potentially dust mites or bed bugs. Within an hour of being in bed my body started getting covered in bites/hives, insanely itchy. Only localization was ok Dirty room, bedbugs, personel that didn’t want to help with the problem of bedbugs, that knew the problem and still placed people in the room with bedbugs. They didn’t wanted to accept the complaint.

The hostel has bed bugs in multiple rooms!!!! They say it is a reoccurring problem in summer, but then don’t take actual measurements to fix it!! Staff tried they’re best and refunded 1 night and let us wash our clothes. Location was amazing but for the rest the bed bugs ruined it.

There were multiple rooms with bed bugs. Apparently this is a reocurring problem, but it seems like little effort is taken to fix it. Staff handled the situation kindly and did refund us, but it does not seem like the bed bug problem will be fixed anytime soon

Overall a great location right in the heart of the old town but on a less busy street. There was access to washing facilities as well. The cleanliness was not the best and I heard that several others had experienced bed bugs while staying there. Also the bathroom was too small and not very comfortable lacking space for storing clothing and stuff while showering. The security could’ve been better as well. The lock to the luggage storage was broken and on the last day I couldn’t get in.

I only stayed in this hostel 1 night out of my expected SIX. This was due to a very bad bed bug infestation that caused dozens of incredibly itchy bites, required me to spend my own money to wash EVERYTHING the day after I arrived and book another place on short notice. The staff was nice and quick to issue a refund, BUT they were not surprised at all and said “it happens sometimes” as if it were something normal. I am beyond disappointed with this stay.

La cocina, la sala de estar y la chica que atiende a la mañana que es muy amable y la única que escucho y ayudó con el problema que tuve, y aún tengo. La falta de higiene en los cuartos que fué lo que hizo que me contagiara de CHINCHES, muchas picaduras por brazos y espalda, por eso tuve una reacción alérgica por la cual todavía estoy medicada. Ninguno de los responsables del hostel se comunicaron conmigo en ningún momento, y es más bloquearon el WhatsApp donde había mandado fotos de como me encontraba. Tuve que estar protegida del sol por los corticoides que tomé y tomo, siendo mis siguientes destinos de playa, Santander y Gijón. Además tuve gastos de lavado de toda la ropa para eliminar todo rastro de insectos. Nadie responsable se comunicó, solo Booking ofreció un reintegro de 10 euros.

Leider nicht empfehlenswert... ich hatte Bettwanzen in meinem Bett. Als ich um die Rückerstattung für die Nacht in dem Hostel gebeten habe, bekam ich keine Antwort mehr.

The place in general is great. The stuff was friendly, the breakfast was basic but very nice to have included in the price and the position was convenient especially for taking the bus to the BBK festival or to sightsee the old side of the town. The bathroom was quite nice and well kept. I was really pleased about my experience with this hostel but when I was leaving I realized that the bed had bedbugs and I got biten quite a bit everywhere. I have notified the hostel and they said they were going to look into it. On a minor note, our 8-bed room was pretty much empty the whole time (3 people max in it) which also was quite nice, however they kept cluster the 3 of us in the same 3 bed. It would have made more sense to spread us out across the room to avoid bothering each other, as there was plenty of space.

La atención de las personas es muy buena y calida. La cocina está disponible y bien equipada y la sala de estar es un lugar cómodo para estar. Buena calidad, precio, lo recomiendo. Estuve en la habitación 32, cama 1 y es muy probable que la cama tenga chinches. No pude buscar los animalitos porque solo me quedé una noche y salí muy temprano. Pero por la comezón durante la noche sin que hubiera sonido de mosquitos, las ronchas apareciendo algunas horas después y los patrones de los piquetes (en grupos de tres a cinco) me hacen creer que es así. Recomiendo reservar el lugar, por la calidad precio está bien, pero si les asignan esta cama o este cuarto, sería bueno que verifiquen con la persona de recepción que se haya atendido el problema.

The facility was infested with bed bugs. I found them crawling on my pillow the second night and woke up with tons of bites. The staff was very helpful and quick to move me but I am concerned that there was not a solution for the infestation, just moving me quietly so no one would notice. I write this review so that others can see and choose somewhere else! Bed bugs are really hard to get rid of and just washing sheets won't do it. Protect yourselves, your vacations and your personal items!

We found bedbugs when we were going to sleep so we left right away. Gladly we were cautios from beginning as there were blood stains on every matress in the room and overall cleanliness was not well. We got refunded the next day without any problems so that was positive.

BED BUGS! I spent 2 nights here May 7-9th and was very bitten after the first night, I tried to look for the bugs and it only got way worse after the second night! It's all over my arms, ankles and feet. I've been so itchy and have had terrible allergic reactions after my stay at this hostel. Other than the bed bugs, the rooms were a good size but hot. The showers and bathrooms were very small and only 2 stalls per floor. The breakfast was nice but basic. Location was the best park, very central in old town (a little noisy) however not worth the best bugs. Sorry for the delay in posting this review, they kept rejecting my photos, I know it's bad!

This hostel's got a great location, right in the heart of Bilbao, which is super convenient, and the basic breakfast is a nice perk. Plus, the reception guys do try to be friendly. However, that's where the positives end. The lack of curtains on the beds means zero privacy, and the thin blanket was definitely not warm enough for a December stay. To make matters worse, the heater wasn't working, so the room was freezing. Cleanliness was a major issue; there was dust everywhere. I also woke up with a couple of red marks on my arms, which might be bed bug bites – definitely not a pleasant surprise. The water was cold yesterday and this morning, so I checked out without even getting a shower – super annoying. Yeah, it's cheap at €77 for 4 nights, but there's no excuse for the lack of cleanliness, potential bed bugs, broken heater, and basic comforts. They seriously need to pay more attention to cleaning and provide warmer bedding.

Leider wird hier keinen großen Wert auf Sauberkeit gelegt. Es gab dort Bettwanzen und ich war am ganzen Körper mit Bissen bedeckt! Horror! Als Gast bezieht man sein Bett selbst, dadurch haben die Mitarbeitenden ja quasi keine regelmäßige Kontrolle der Betten, so fallen Bettwanzen natürlich weniger auf. Außerdem sind die Betten quasi direkt auf dem Boden und der Abstand zwischen unterm und oberen Bett so gering, dass man sich ständig den Kopf anschlägt. Gegen die Mitarbeitenden ist nichts zu sagen, alle wirklich sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Auch die Küche und der Aufenthaltsraum ist soweit in Ordnung. Leider gibt es in der Küche keinen Herd, nur eine Mikrowelle. Richtiges Kochen als nicht möglich.

We had a horrible experience. We (myself and my daughter) had booked a shared 6 bed room. Our room (#12) was INCREDIBLY dirty and something that looked like huge stains of shit under one of the mattresses. On top of that another person was already in the room. Definitely not a Pilgrim, my best guess is that the hostel has an agreement with social services. A travel companion left the hostel due to reported bedbugs in her room (#31). After a short walk around town, we returned to a room that was filled with smoke. The social service person claimed she didn't smoke in the room (with a pack of cigarettes on her bed. The reception was not very helpful. We wanted to change rooms, and they suggested room #31, but we had heard about the bedbug situation (but it says something about a lodging that puts people in a known bedbug infested room). They were only able to relocate my daughter. Upon my return to the room the social services person started yelling at me due to the cigarette situation, whereafter miraculously it was possible to relocate me as well. The new rooms (separate) were ok, but the social services person was screaming on the staircase 2-3 hours until 12am

Salí con picadura de chinches. El aseo es fatal. El olor de la habitación insoportable.

Llevo 15 años organizando unas etapas del camino de santiago para peregrinos. Es el peor sitio que me he encontrado jamás. Las condiciones de higiene brillan por su ausencia. En las dos habitaciones que reservamos habia:humedad, cableado electrico en mal estado y peligroso. Chinches aplastadas en la pared y vivas debajo de los colchones. Tuvimos que cancelar automáticamente para un grupo de 10 personas con las consecuencias que ello conlleva para un gasto de imprevisto. Este sitio debería estar cerrado hasta que fumiguen porque el hostal tiene zonas comunes muy bonitas. Volvería siempre y cuando estuviese en condiciones decentes.

BED BUGS. I genuinely feel that I enjoyed almost all aspects of this hostel, except for the fact that we found bed bugs. Location was great, staff was great, overall cleanliness was not an issue. Elevator does not go to the first floor, and bathroom was very small. Bathroom had two singular toilet stalls, two shower stalls and a double sink. This was supposed to be shared with everyone on our floor, and the bathroom was not separated by gender, so we had to share a total of two toilets and two showers with

Todo iba bien, hasta que nos empezaron a picar chinches. Por lo visto tienen un problema de infestación de esta plaga y no lo están arreglando. A varios de los que fuimos nos picaron y nos dejaron marcas hasta una semana después. Además estamos hablando de entre 10 y 15 picadas en el cuerpo. Muy mala experiencia en este sentido

Sintiéndolo mucho, me veo obligada a poner esta reseña. Me hospedé durante cuatro noches en el hostel y y este es el resultado. Nos hospedamos también el año pasado y no hubo ningún incidente pero este año yo y varios de mis compañeros de la habitación estamos llenos de picadas de chinches. he informado al personal del Hotel, que parecía no ser conocedor del tema, aunque leyendo reseñas otros usuarios advierten sobre el tema ya de dos meses atrás, incluso un año atrás. Espero que no borréis la reseña y que por favor toméis acciones al respecto. Gracias

La ubicación del hostal es excelente, ya que se sitúa en pleno casco viejo de Bilbao. En la habitación había chinches. Las duchas un poco incómodas para ducharse y dejar la ropa sin que se te moje.

Mi experiencia en el Hostal fue terrible. Los baños estaban sucios, los botes desbordados de papel, el piso y escusados sin limpiar. Las habitaciones muy sucias, había basura en el piso, en la orilla de la cama y polvo en todas partes. Y lo peor es que en las camas había chinches, otros viajeros que compartían habitación conmigo y de otras habitaciones tuvieron el mismo problema. Me sorprende que los comentarios y puntuación del hostal sean tan altos. Cero recomendable.

Leider ist das Hostel auch wenn die Lage perfekt und das Angebot günstig ist, nicht zu empfehlen. Hätte Bettwanzen und war von Kopf bis Fuß zerbissen als ich heimfuhr. Keine schöne Erfahrung!

la localisation et l'espace commun aux voyageur dans l'entrée Les toilettes sales et cassées, il n'y avait que 2 douches et 2 toilettes pour 12 personnes, ma porte de placard cassée, ma prise de lit ne marchait pas, j'ai trouvé une punaise de lit et j'ai signalé aux personnes sur place qui n'ont rien fait.

Baños con limpieza escasa. Vi a la persona que los "limpiaba" y se limitó a pasar una bayeta a la taza. Las duchas sin cierre, en un baño mixto. 2 baños y 2 duchas para una planta de mínimo 12 personas. El baño tamaño Ryanair, donde una persona de 1,80 cm le tocaban las rodillas con la puerta. Colchones y edredones sucios y manchados. Deben haber chinches porque la última noche acabé con 5 picaduras en los brazos. Habitaciones diminutas para 6 personas. El desayuno limitado. Su ubicación y un personal amable es lo único bueno. No lo recomiendo para nada, además de ser caro calidad/precio.

Os funcionários eram muito simpáticos, os espaços comuns agradáveis, a localização excelente, muito central. Ficámos num quarto quádruplo privativo e quando entrámos pareceu-nos bom. O pior foi quando verificámos junto das camas, para além de muita sujidade por baixo dos colchões, uma infestação de percevejos. Uma das amigas foi picada durante a noite. Deixei aviso na receção. Espero que tomem providências, pois de resto o hostel é muito agradável.
