The Mango Tree Hostel 4:20

PLEASE READ THIS!!! This is the dirtiest and worst hostel I have ever stayed in. They have around 6-8 dogs who are not friendly and bite. I had one dog attack me and tear up my pants. The owner offered no solution and wouldn’t even email me back. There is no air conditioning in Cartagena where it is so hot. Instead you have open windows with tons of mosquitoes. The beds were filthy and full of dirty dog prints. I 100% guarantee that you’ll regret your decision of booking this awful hostel!!!

Nous sommes restés 2 nuits et nous n’avons pas aimé le cadre, l’hotel et l’ambiance. La chambre était sale, il y a du bruit jusqu’à tard dans la nuit (musique, discussions…) L’ambiance n’était pas ce qu’on attendait. Il n’y a que le personnel qui remonte un peu la note, qui était très sympathique et accueillant. C’est pas cher mais je ne recommande pas.

Ich habe mich wie im Irrenhaus gefühlt. Gäste waren teilweise auf irgendwelchen harten Drogen und haben um 8 Uhr zum Alkohol trinken begonnen. Die Küche ist total klebrig und eklig gewesen. Ich hatte zwei Nächte reserviert aber bin nur eine geblieben. Die Gegend ist wirklich nicht schön.

I saw a small rat beside me on the bed playing in a plastic bag .. ths plastic bag may be contained food before the rat made a whole in the bag and when I heard something is playing on the bed noticed the rat jumped right away scared it was my first time to see that .. they moved me to a distant room that doesnt have connection to wifi .. I decided to leave the hostel and Cartagena because of what happened

I entered the dates 22-23 June and said I would be arriving at 8pm. Once I entered my card details the booking was confirmed for 26-27th may. It ha not appeared in ‘my trips’ on the app so there was no way I could cancel this or contact the hostel. I’m quite disappointed in this part of the service

Me estafaron El hostal se ve mucho mejor en las fotos. Por el precio no me esperaba nada de lujo, pero tampoco tener que marcharme después de la primera de las 4 noches que había reservado. La cama y almohada fueron asquerosas (sucias y muy usadas), la ducha también. El staff (amable) me aseguró que marchándome no debería haber cualquier problema para que me reembolsen. Después de 10 días de insistancia (email, llamadas, mensajes) la dirección me dice que el motivo no vale reembolso.

In 5 months traveling I have never been in a hostel bad like this one, there was fur on my bed and a rat in the shower, talking about the shower it is just the pipe. They charged us to leave our bags and after a few days when I came back to get my stuff I open the main door and nobody was at the reception I got my things and I had to wait to pay. It means that anyone could have got it and they wouldn’t even notice. The only good thing they have dogs

There was no water during one morning. We couldn’t brush our teeth, wash our hands, shower or even flush

not safe at all, someone took a lot of my money in my bag. The door of the room didn’t close. It was not clean

I boked 3 beds in a 5bed dorm, at arrival I get a private room with a queen size bed (1 bed 3 ppl). After almost an hour and some argumentation we were given a third bed in a dorm. The comment on the situation was “you’ve gotten what you paid for”, which might be true, but it wasn’t what I asked nor signed for. Second and last night the dorm bed is occupied by a new guest and I had to ask for a new bed and move to another dorm. My skirt also got ripped by a ex street dog that lives at th...

Muy buen ambiente, staff muy atento, espacios amplios y limpios y perritos muy agradables. Tambien tienen un hostal en tierrabomba que es demasiado lindo y tiene piscina y un muy lindo club de playa, un buen lugar para relajarse 😎🏝

The hostel staff is very nice and relaxed! The staff includes a bunch of ultra adorable adopted street dogs which really add to the vibes! The hostal is clean (bathroom and kitchen) and the rooms are simple! For the price its unbeatable! Can highly recommend staying here especially when on a budget!

Super hostel a l’ambiance très chill et super amicale, parfait en partie pour les voyageurs solos ! Le staff est super sympa, dédicace à Jorge qui nous a emmené dans de super lieux autour de Carthagena !! Et big up aux petits chiots qui ont apporté de la douceur à notre séjour

this is the most welcoming hostel you will ever find! the staff are there to help with anything and everything, the outdoor areas are huge, the dogs are so friendly and comforting :) and you will never want to leave the hammocks! on Isla Tierra Bomba you can find their sister hostel. its just as easygoing and open, its tropical and gorgeous and comes with an insane breakfast. Myfavorite spots in Cartagena #4evaaa

Nous sommes 2 filles de 20 ans qui avons passé 2 nuits dans cet hostel. Le personnel est très accueillant et agréable et a répondu à toutes nos questions et nous ont beaucoup aidé tout au long du séjour et ont tout fait pour que nous nous sentions bien.

Más o menos bien. Tienen pocos ventiladores y hace demasiado calor, las literas no tienen escalera y se mueven mucho. Pedimos el servicio de lavandería y la ropa llegó un poco mojada y arrugada, pero al menos limpia, a nosotras no nos importa mucho pero puede ser importante. Los baños deberían limpiarlos más seguido, sobre todo cuando por las tardes que más personas llegan de la playa. El ambiente es agradable y los responsables siempre están atentos a tu seguridad y bienestar.

Établissement pas cher donc rentable. Personnel très disponible et sympathique. Quartier un peu excentré mais pas très loin. Seul bémol, la propriété et l’état de la literie, les draps et matelas étaient un peu vieux…

great price for cartagena, comfy in its own way but well outside of touristic areas (but has a public bus connection directly in front)

Sehr nettes Personal und der Vibe war sehr entspannt. Die Küche könnte besser ausgestattet sein und auch die Betten sind sehr alt. Wir hatten mehrmals eine Maus im Zimmer !! Sie hat unser Essen angefressen und uns oft erschreckt. Nicht so schön :/
