Furu Hostel

Haven't been there because it was impossible due to Storm Johannes. I communicated everything in an adequate way, but they still let me pay. They even didn't reply on my last email anymore. Big failure!

Personnel médiocre, peut-être parce qu'ils étaient en train de former un nouveau recruté allemand. Le matin au café, le personnel était en train de prendre leur petit déj (café ouvert), la fille s'est levée manifestement gênée de sa table pour m'accueillir. The hostel is nicely decorated. Unfortunately it was very quiet when I was there, probably because it was outside high season. Compared to other places in Lofoten, there is not much to do in the area. If you don't have a car at your disposal, I wouldn't recommend this hostel. Also, the hostel doesn’t have a kitchen, only a kettle and a microwave in a tiny kitchenette. Overall, I didn’t enjoy my stay as much as I’d expected. This is a pretty good hostel, but I would not say that it is worth stopping off at it on the way from Moskenes to Svolvaer (or vice versa). It has a homely atmosphere, with comfortable couches, a lovely wooden interior, lots of paintings and pictures, throw rugs, &c.; the staff there are friendly, the rooms are cozy, and they have a full kitchen. The only real problem with this hostel is that, unless you have a car, there is not much to do nearby.

Ostello molto carino che ricorda molto i rifugi di montagna. È situato in una zona tranquilla, vicino ad uno splendido laghetto, dove però non sono presenti grandi escursioni da fare. La colazione è varia anche se abbastanza costosa. Molto consigliato se si dispone di un veicolo, meno se si viaggia con i pullman locali.

Well decorated place, located near a very beautiful lake. Nice garden. Dormitories are nice and there are curtains on beds. Kayak, bikes, sauna, crashpads (etc.) available but at a certain cost. No stove nor sink in the "kitchen", which is very unpractical if one wish to cook their own food. Moreover, "not allowed" to do you dishes in the bathroom sink... Location quite unpractical if you don't have a car: no grocery store, nor hike nearby. With a car, it is though well located.

The space itself has everything you would want in a hostel. Gorgeous facilities, the outdoors and lake are awesome, inside is super cozy and clean. My biggest complaint is the vibe in general - the hostel staff very much keep to themselves (they all hang out together but have no interest in socializing with guests) even though they're also just living there for the summer. Food/drinks are EXPENSIVE and you can't really bring your own. Just not a very social hostel at all, but very nice space.

It was a nice stay, nice roommates, and not as expensive as most of the other accomodation.

Really cool vibey hostel with a great community feeling. It’s on the main bus route so really convenient and has a beautiful view, secluded vibe and awesome access for outdoor activities!

Wahnsinnig gemütliche Unterkunft direkt an einem See.

Ostello incantevole, staff gentilissimo, location mozzafiato👍🏻mi è piaciuto molto il “solarium”, anche se siamo stati solo una notte lo consiglio a tutti!

Clean hostel. The bathrooms were very big and clean. The location is kind of in the middle of nowhere so it is best to travel here with a car. The good thing about it being in the middle of nowhere is that it is not too far from hikes on both ends of Lofoten.

Very clean. Had to make our own beds and no towels but the bathroom was nice and roomy. I like that each bed gets a curtain.

Good hostel in a convenient location - has what you need

Fantastic vibe at this place. Very personal and comfortable experience. Super location and the property with nooks and crannies for solitude or a swim are incredible. And the sauna!!

Had a great time at the hostel, very cosy but wish they ran some events in the evening.

I have stayed in hostels on 6 different continents in dozens of countries. This is probably the nicest hostel I've ever stayed at. Extremely clean, well organized, and built/ designed with real intention. From the lovely lobby and reading room, the sauna facing the lake, the play area for kids, the area with dog houses, this hostel was clearly built with genuine love and thoughtfulness. 20/10 would recommend and would stay again.

Very nice hostel, with a great atmosphere! The cozy common area, and welcoming staff make it easy to feel comorftable quickly. Its in a remote area, the bus stop is right in front of it, but only a few times a day, so it needs some planning in advance or you can meet a lot of lovely people there you might take you places :) It has a well equipped kitchen, nice rooms, a sauna right by the lake, and as a female solo traveller I felt very safe during my stay. Definitely would come back!

The best hostel in lofoten, for real. I’ve been traveling for 1 month there and Furu is other level.

Had a great stay! friendly staff and the breakfast was very good. Room was clean and the activities were varied . We will certainly be back!

FURU isn’t just a very special hostel but a very special place full stop.The staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful. The decor is original, stylish and creative. I do wonder whether a designated quiet space might be a welcome addition for some people - the social atmosphere is great but there wasn’t anywhere to have a bit of peace and quiet if necessary. The location is superb and includes a charming outside fire hut and sauna by the lake; and fantastic that there is a bus stop right outsid...

Had a lovely atmosphere, due to the weather not much to do. A car is needed if you want to explore surrounding areas. Public transport is not often. If you like skiing and pretty mountains this is the place for you :)
