The Steady

The staff at this hostel were friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout my stay. Unfortunately, the property itself has significant hygiene and maintenance issues that made for an uncomfortable stay. The beds and pillows were infested with bed bugs, which resulted in bites covering my body during my visit. The mattresses appear to be very old and haven't been replaced in what seems like years, contributing to the overall unsanitary conditions. The bathrooms were consistently difficult to keep clean, suggesting ongoing maintenance problems rather than just temporary issues. Despite the staff's best efforts, the infrastructure seems to need serious attention. If you're traveling on an extremely tight budget and have very limited options, this place might serve as basic shelter. However, if you can afford to spend even a little more, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The bed bug situation alone makes it worth paying extra for a cleaner, better-maintained accommodation. The staff really do try their best with what they have to work with, but the property needs significant investment in cleaning, pest control, and basic maintenance to provide a decent guest experience.

My room was for 6, it was full on most nights. One of the lower beds, was infested with bed bugs — the girl had to switch rooms. The beds are also very squeaky and shake a lot, even with slight movement. The floors and walls weren’t clean, neither the bathrooms, hair and mould all over along with lots of dust! The AC didn’t work so windows were left open which was noisy at times with traffic and helicopters/planes. Toilets are down the hall, making it awkward to go to during the night! There wasn’t much choice for breakfast, and there were no activities organised.
