Place has bed bugs . On my stay there I woke up they were on me . 10 mins later 3 guys woke up complaining bout the same thing . Be warned . You won’t get a good sleep

I am not a person to ever leave bad reviews, but this was an unpleasant experience. The hostel smelled sweaty, I found bedbugs crawling on me in the morning, my phone couldn’t charge as plug sockets didn’t work in the room. And the general vibe was sketchy and uncomfortable. The reception staff were nice! And the instant ramen was good. But I would not recommend staying here.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. I felt physically unsafe due to the lack of security and people making noise on the ground floor and outside the property all night long. The entire place smelt dreadful, it was extremely dirty and was covered in mould. We saw multiple bed bugs on the floor and on our property. I would implore anyone thinking of booking this property to find alternative accommodation, even though it’s cheap it’s really not worth it. It shouldn’t be on Hostelworld.

La chambre, la salle de bain et les toilettes étaient dans un état de saleté vraiment inacceptable, avec également de très mauvaises odeurs. Le pire : j’ai été victime de piqûres que je pense être dues à des punaises de lit. J’ai maintenant des boutons sur une grande partie du corps et j’ai dû acheter des médicaments pour soulager les démangeaisons. Pour moi, les conditions d’hygiène sont totalement inacceptables. Je suis très mécontent de mon séjour.

Interesting group of people but you will be disappointed by the ruckus and everything else. This place is in desperate need of a renovation!!! The bathrooms filthy, walls falling apart, toilet seat cracked, tissue covered in urine, no hand towels, incredibly rough, rowdy and situated on a dark corner. Beds had no curtains, windows wide open, people eating and smoking in the dorms, was terrified there might be bed bugs and couldn’t stop itching. Loud telephone calls on speaker phone, good luck trying to sleep. Requested for a bottom bunk and stated difficulty with stairs due to mobility, was given a bottom bunk UP FOUR FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. Had to leave early as the hostel failed to inform me there aren’t any ground floor dorms prior to my arrival, despite my request for this mandatory adjustment. No space in the request box to give enough details either but I was very clear and they refused to refund me, despite only requesting to be reimbursed for the second night as I left halfway through the first. There’s a reason they charge just £14 per night, this place isn’t worth 50p. Highly recommend you AVOID this place at all costs!!! Truly awful experience and staff seemed rather fed up. I’m not surprised by this, it’s understandable considering where they work but would’ve appreciated a more approachable attitude from customer staff. The streets are cleaner than this shabby cesspit and that’s being 100% honest. Don’t waste your time, money, effort, health or dignity and stay somewhere else. If you go with Phoenix, I can promise you’ll regret it.

The location I checked in on Friday night. Saturday morning two girls complained about bedbugs and blood spots on their beds. I had booked another night and I didn’t see any bite marks on my body so I didn’t book anything else. When I arrived at night, I explained the situation to the receptionist and offered a bed in The Bell Inn (sister hostel). I was really tired from sightseeing all day so I went back to my room. To my surprise another guest was sleeping in my bed and my bedtag was nowhere to be found. I was offered another bed but I was afraid of the bed bugs. I went to the Bell Inn and when I checked out I saw bedbug bite marks. Since then I have seen more than 50 bites all over my body and it’s super itchy and I can’t sleep or work properly. I have had to throw away my backpack, a blazer and some clothes and I am still worried I may have brought bedbugs to my flat… I am under a lot of distress and would like a refund to also cover expenses like dry-cleaning and new clothes/backpack, a GP visit and medication. The staff was friendly and helpful BED BUGS! It was such an unsafe place to stay because of the bed bugs. I only stayed one night unplanned as the train was all cancelled so could not go home. I woke up with bed bug bites all over my body and I am still suffering from the effects of this almost 2 weeks after. I have seen a doctor twice and still ongoing treatment. I spent a lot of money on medication. Just because a place is cheap does not mean it should be unsafe. I booked a private room which is the most expensive option. Secondary issue was the door was not locking properly, the staff kindly tried to fix it but he was not able to completely. He did taught me how to lock it in another way. But still, if I did not noticed it was broken, then I was put at risk because the door will be left open.

Very unkempt, spent one night and got bitten by bed bugs! Booked a private room which was tiny which fair enough but told that the door lock is broken and had to fiddled with in order to fix after each time opening the door. Location not so pleasing, especially if solo travelling. Staff were kind enough though, only good point.

Friendly staff but didn't do much - did not respond to the phone, email, messages, including from booking.com themselves Bed bugs everywhere, other guests were rowdy, it was cramped and very hot. I can't emphasize how many bed bugs there were - so many bed bugs, we left quickly after finding so many crawling on our clothes. Had to wash all our clothes/bags/etc immediately

I cut the stay short from 4 days to 2 days as there were so many bed bugs. I got bad rash one hour into my stay and the rash got so bad now even days after I left the property and still not recovered. The bed bugs were everywhere, on the duvet, pillow and the walls, I must killed at least 50 of those and it also left blood trail, so it can be infectious. The bath mat in the toilet was so dirty so was the carpet in the corridor. I highly recommend not to stay at least not in the summer and the property can get a thoroughly clean as it definitely not meet the sanitisation requirement.

Had a terrible experience here because it was so dirty. There were bed bugs all over my bed, so I left in the middle of the night. DO NOT STAY HERE unless they finally clean the place up, which I doubt will happen anytime soon.

Unfortunately, the reviews are correct, there are bed bugs all over the property which I saw crawling in the bed. I have multiple welts all over my arms & legs aswell as some on my face and so did other guests. I also saw a cockroach. The staff were helpful/friendly apart from the cleaner pulling back the sheet and telling me to leave even though I had extended the previous afternoon and asked to be assigned to the same bed. An interview for a cleaner was also held in the room in early AM.

El staff es lo único bueno para destacar Sucio, oscuro, las camas incómodas, cuentan solamente con 2 inodoros y 1 ducha por piso! Había cucarachas tanto en las habitaciones como en la cocina y mis roomates me advirtieron de los bedbugs. No lo recomiendo.

This is the absolute worst hostel. For starters , there is an extremely severe bed bug infestation in the rooms. I was on the the top bunk (on the third one) and I put the flashlight on the ceiling and it was FULL of bed bugs, my whole body is covered with bites, my clothes are completely covered by them. Let alone the safety. Ig is very unsafe , especially if you’re a woman, this place is rented out monthly to older people that live and work in london. Hygiene doesn’t exist. Never again

Nothing INFESTED WITH BED BUGS!!! Rooms not cleaned, there was a bag of random garbage on the floor and bins had not been emptied. Several people reported bed bugs and I have a series of bite photos. There was no fan or air conditioning during severely hot weather. Rat droppings spotted in luggage storage container. No running water when I went to shower in the morning after sweating all night due to no ventilation in rooms.

DONT STAY HERE! Booked for only one night and fall asleep immediately cause I was tired I woke up after 2 hours with my full body itching They are INFESTED with bed bugs and did nothing about it just day sorry and that was it It’s been 3 days and I still have the itch and the injuries in my skin. Nada Fuera del hostal estaba lleno de yonquis, a varios los hemos visto inconscientes y trapicheando. Y dentro de la recepción, que era el bar, estaban algunos de estos. Además el colchón estaba muy sucio y era súper delgado, por lo que se sentían las tablas del somier; las sábanas estaban llenas de pelos; el suelo estaba súper sucio, donde hemos visto una uña gigante; en la pared encima de la cabecera había un moco pegado; tanto la ventana como el radiador estaban llenos de polvo; y había un olor a lejía espantoso en la habitación. El baño estaba igualmente sucio, todas las ventanas llenas de polvo, no había jabón de manos y la baldosa donde estaba el retrete se levantaba. Hemos visto que no pasaban la escoba, sino que fregaban arrastrando la suciedad de un lado al otro; incluso hemos visto cómo le daban con la fregona sucia a la balda y a la mesilla de nuestra habitación. Una vez que les hemos dicho que nos gustaría cancelar la reserva y que no nos sentíamos cómodos, ya nos han empezado a mirar fatal y eso ha sido lo que ha hecho que nos buscáramos otro alojamiento mediante Booking en otro hotel. Ayer nada más llegar, al ver el estado, les dijimos esta opción y nos dijeron que esta mañana lo hablaríamos con el manager. Hemos hecho noche, pero la experiencia ha sido mala: la cama era muy incómoda, se escuchaba todo de las habitaciones de al lado, del pasillo y de la escuela de al lado, y la cortina no tapaba nada, por lo que entraba un montón de luz desde las 4 de la mañana, que amanece en Londres en junio. Esta mañana no estaba el manager y nos han dicho que vendría a las 3. Hemos tenido que volver al hostal a esa hora para hablar con él y nos ha dicho que ponía que no era reembolsable y que, si estaba sucia, nos la limpiaban. No era solo la limpieza, sino la inseguridad de la que hablábamos y el mal descanso en esa cama. Otros clientes también reportan que había una plaga de chinches, lo que tampoco nos dejaba descansar tranquilos.

I set myself the goal of getting 5hrs sleeps per night, getting a shower most mornings and that's all. I did manage both. It may be personal taste but pumpy music is not my vibe. THat was the only music I heard and until early in the morning. There was only one working shower for a few rooms - so maybe 30 people. Staff were friendly but you needed to fit in with the vibe. It may be coincidence but I had about 20 marks on my feet and lower legs. I checked on Google and the patterns of the marks seems to indicate fleas/bed bugs. If it was a food allergy, I have not changed my diet since and the marks are healing since I left.

unfortunately this hostel had bed bugs. that on its own is enough to say i can’t recommend this place. staff divulged to me that they had just run a hearing procedure to clear the bugs right before i came to stay. sadly, it seems, those procedures are either not up to par, or the infestation runs deep within the walls. it was very cramped with little space even for my bag, music in the bar was far too loud, and there were no privacy curtains.

Would give it a 10/10 if the place wasn't a bedbug cest pitt.. was eaten alive in one room asked to change and was eaten alive on the other room barely got any sleep.

One of the Worst Hostels Ever,if you can even call it that.Had to wait 20 minutes before some one eventually arrived.There were no Toilet rolls in most of the Toilets.Bathrooms and Toilets Smells.The Carpet on the Stairs was Filthy.My Bunk Bed was unmade when i arrived and the Duva Cover was Heavily Stained.There was People's Stuff all over the Floor.Cramped in a Tiny 3meters four Bunk bed Room.I Work up Covered with Bed Bugs all Over me.Bed Bugs Crawling all Over the Walls Beds and Ceiling.

The staff member was friendly. My refund was processed quickly. This is a hostel for people who have no choice other than sleeping out on the streets. That is no excuse for the state of the place. Beds clearly never get changed. Stained sheets, pubic hair and blood ( potentially from bed bugs ) were all found on my sheet. I left after 5 minutes. I wish I had read the Google reviews first and saved myself the hassle. IF YOU ARE NOT ABSOLUTELY DESPERATE - AVOID.

This hostel was disgusting. Any review that says otherwise is lying to you. Nothing was clean. Staff were hostile and getting in fights with each other before we even checked in. The bathrooms were disgusting. The beds looked to have remnants of bed bugs in them. If you are a woman specifically, I would advise against staying here. There were many sketchy men staying here and I felt unsafe. I checked out 30 minutes after checking in because I felt so uncomfortable. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Don't believe the bad reviews! I was terrified before I came-- but there were no bed bugs (I asked everyone) AND all of the staff were amazingly, amazingly helpful and supportive. They (and other guests) helped with my questions about London, Britain, and future travels. You will meet really great people here. Thank you especially to Kamel for all of his help and for being so welcoming!! The people here made my trip 100% better-- and I will be returning.

Nothing except the location was decent. There were bedbugs in both female dorms! Not only when it was discovered in the room I stayed we contacted the staff and they said they would spray but they never did, but also they moved people from one dorm to another, but they also did nothing about it. As a result most people left these dorms, including myself, right after we understood that they don't care about hygiene issues. Don't book it!!

Would have been better if there's no bed bugs. Everything ok except I have a bad night killing bed bugs. I end up spending more because I have to buy medicine for itchiness and bed bugs catcher.

Solo me a gustado que estaba cerca del bus Dios! Es el prior hotel, por llamarlo de alguna manera que he estado. Llegas allí y da miedo! Parece un albergue de indigentes! La gente descalza en el bar/recepcion… la habitación individual, daba asco! La pared llena de mocos con sangre….suciedad por todo el colchón…y ahora vine lo más fuerte…cucarachas y chinches. A día de hoy….tengo picadas a causa de el colchón infectado de chinches. El hotel, huele a basura…suciedad y marihuana. El baño, dios! Daba mucho asco y grima! Es que es todo malo… daba asco tocar cualquier cosa. No quise consumir nada del bar porque daba asco….la gente descalza por el bar…parecía un centro de toxicomanos! Es asqueroso! Debería de estar cerrado! No cojas este hotel! Yo pasé miedo, pensaba que nos robarían en cualquier momento! Adjunto fotos de mi estado actual ….

honestly guys.. the location is solid. but there are bed bugs and when I approached the dude at the reception about them.. he said there's nothing he can do, that all the beds have them and I have a choice "to be a man" and sleep in that bed and then began giving a hypothetical allegory comparing the situation to if I had a daughter on the other side of the world I needed to see. it was absolutely ridiculous but it's cheapest in London and everyone else was chill. free tea

I’ve come out of this place with bites from bed Bugs all over me, my bed had 2 steps missing to get to my top bunk bed, overall didn’t feel like a hostel rather felt like a shelter

Rien C'était très sale, tout étais sale, pas hygiénique, les lits, les draps, les coussins, les toilettes, la salle de bains, il y avait des bedbugs partout sur le lit sur les murs, le personnel pas tres aimable surtout un vieux blond très hautain, j'avais une réservation de 2 semaines j'ai du quitter au bout de une semaine tellement c'était grave un établissement comme sa devrait fermer pour mauvaise hygiène.

Bad (Staff member "Mattiouse" was involved in storing my luggage, which later went missing. No accountability or follow-through when I returned to collect it.) How were the facilities? Bad (Secure cellar where luggage was stored by staff — luggage still went missing. Lockers in rooms are locked but no staff oversight or security checks.) Was it clean? No (Bed bugs present on arrival — I did not stay.) Was it comfortable? No (Did not stay due to bed bugs. Could not even collect belongings without stress and loss.) Was it good value? No (Paid £117.78 for a room I couldn’t use, and luggage worth over £2,000 went missing while in staff custody.) How was the location? Staff stored my luggage in a secure cellar. When I returned to collect it, the luggage had vanished. No resolution, no accountability, no refund. Over £2,300 worth of belongings lost or unaccounted for.

Nada, el lugar era un asco NO TE QUEDES AQUI, es un lugar espantoso, llegas a un bar q no se ve tan mal pero la gente es extraña y apesta a marihuana. Subes por unas escaleras asquerosamente sucias, el baño es horrible y es un solo baño para mas de 30 personas. Los cuartos son espantosos, pequeños, sin espacio, literas pequeñas, no tienes donde poner tus cosas ni por donde caminar por q la gente tiene todo en el piso, las paredes sucias, las ventanas horribles. Parece un anexo o carcel. Cuenta con 6 lockers que ya estaban llenos de ropa, habia bolsas de ropa y basura de otras huespedes en el piso, cuando llegamos estaban ocupadas todas las camas y solo vaciaron una y cambiaron la sabana. Tuve q dormir con mis maletas en mi cama por q no habia donde ponerlas y por q a parte daba miedo que te robaran. Las huespedes vivian ahí y era groseras, hostiles y estaban super enfermas. Pagué por 3 noches y mejor me salí el primer día a primera hora y como q es algo comun para ellos, por q ni me preguntaron por q abandonaba la habitación, fue una horrible experiencia y me llené de piquetes de chinches. Por tu salud y seguridad no te hospedes en ese lugar

L'hostel est bien situé. Le personnel est accueillant. J'ai attrapé des punaises de lits. En tant que femme on ne se sent pas du tout en sécurité. Les parties communes sont sales, notamment la salle de bain du dernier étage, sans aération, on ne sait pas si l'eau qui nous tombe dessus est celle de la douche ou de la condensation au plafond qui goutte (le plafond est bien sûr moisi). Il n'y a pas de rideau pour son lit ou de prises à disposition pour chaque client. Globalement tout semble insalubre et l'endroit est assez mal fréquenté. Le pire restant toujours les punaises de lit !! C'est un enfer de rentrer avec ça chez soi.

The place was dirty, smelly and unwelcoming. We were initially considering staying because a last minute hotel in London would be expensive, but we changed our mind very quickly after seeing the amount of reviews and pictures regarding BED BUGS on google.
