I’m sure they got bed bugs. Also, they don’t change the bed linens in between guests. Probably why they got bugs. Another guest complained also about bugs. The bathroom could be cleaner also.

Calle Fortaleza puts Fortaleza Guest House right in the middle of Old San Juan, close to Plaza Colon, Castillo San Cristobal, shops, restaurants, markets, the ferry, and the free bus/Covadonga terminal. It works best as a simple city base: walk out, do the historic core, come back to a basic bed. The house is small, with roughly four or five rooms, shared bathrooms, a kitchen, a common area, and small balconies; a rooftop may also be available. Some rooms have air conditioning and high ceilings, and personal lockers are in the rooms, but bringing a lock is wise. The kitchen is basic, with food labels and markers available, and laundry may be available. The warmest part is the human side. Carlos, Carla, Rada, Richard, Paolo, and the cleaning staff appear as friendly, helpful presences, with Carlos especially tied to local tips, solo-travel help, and even a bar tour. The atmosphere can feel homey and calm, but this is not a polished social hostel with organized events.
