- The rooms were a mess. I did not like the atmosphere in the rooms and the people who stayed were not very kind towards the other roommates. They weren't considerate. The bathrooms were also extremely dirty. I wouldn't want to choose the hostel again. Had a very bad experience.

- Impossible d’avoir des draps à 22h, et draps jaunis et cage de lit sale avec des traces marrons suspectes . Cuisine en travaux sans que ça soit mentionné nulle part , personnelle irrespectuex quand on demande de répéter une phrase quand on a pas compris . C’est précisé nulle part que on peut pas payer en cash aussi . Chasse d’eau cassé, deux casier pour une chambre de 8. Prises cassés . Vraiment n’importe quoi
- There were so many things about the a&o Rotterdam that was just simply not fair or right. Our check in got delayed with over an hour , then the magnetic card to the outside door and the room door was not working , each time we left the room we had to queue at the reception to get it fixed. The reception was over crowded, the staff under pressure. The place operates with low number of staff so everything takes time and it’s inefficient. The heating in the room 163 was broken so I had to ask for two portable heaters that were dusty and made the room smell bad as they heated up. One of them was broken and flickering so decided not to use it. The shower was moldy and worn down, shower head had a broken plastic tube so water spraying everywhere. On top the internet was not working properly. I know we didn’t pay for a 5 star stay but ! We stayed in another brand hotel in Amsterdam same number of days for the same amount of money and it was really good and we were really satisfied. I stayed in a&o on several occasions the past 10 years in many European cities and this Rotterdam one should be shut down because the operation is below standard. I asked for compensation and booking.com said it couldn’t reach to an agreement with the hotel.
- We stayed for 4 nights. On the second day I noticed that while we were out in the city someone was in our room and went through our stuff. I checked and found out that a box of jewelry was missing. Administrators at the reception told me that it was probably someone from the cleaning staff with an electronic key, but they couldn't tell more as there are no cameras on the floors. The manager wrote me a note that I could attached when contacting the customer service. On the next day I went to the local police and reported the incident. The same day someone broke into the room again and made some mess, so I could see it - it was a revenge for making "noise", obviously. I wrote an email to the customer service, describing the events - it's been a week with no reply. Stay away from this place.
+ Echt niets. De kamer was vies, de badkamer was walgelijk, de bedden waren vies, het balkon. We spraken met de mensen die in de gang waren om schoon te maken. Ze moesten gaan schoonmaken. Ze ontdekten alleen de gootsteen die bedekt was.
- Alles was verkeerd, het personeel werd onbesneden. We konden niet slapen omdat de jongeren naast ons de hele nacht lawaai maakten, schreeuwden en marihuana rookten. De marihuanarook ging door het extractiekanaal naar de kamer. Ik had twee kinderen. Het was een zeer onaangename ervaring.

at checkin the female dorm smelled really bad so we changed it "still a female dorm" when w came back from our night out while changing we saw a man sleeping in a bunk bed, we freaked out and went to report and yes they did change it but after blaming us that we chose to change the room in the first place. mind you its supposed to be a female dorm and they changed it to a mixed dorm because "there was no space for him" like WHAT??

Please clean the rooms and get people out of the rooms that don't pay for the night, sleep seven nights with tramps.
Security is weak. Someone snuck into our friend's six-person room and two people slept in one bed. So a six-person room became seven-person. Someone used weed in our room all night, and the whole room was constantly filled with smoke. The check-in machines jammed, and it took two hours to complete. Our money is stuck in the bank as a pending transaction. So we paid twice. Thanks to our bank, we were able to get the money back. The customers isn't good either.
it was so bad experience people are in here are mostly homeless people and they are smoking doing weed in rooms..
If I could give 0, I would. Disgraceful… It’s far from basic safety and hygiene standards; people are smoking weed in the rooms, and it’s unclear who is coming in and out of the hotel. During my first payment, they said the POS machine was broken and charged me twice. I had to argue to get my extra money back. I was need to check out early, and I still haven’t received the refund I’m owed because of that. DONT GO TO THAT HOSTEL!!! TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE…
