This place needs to be shut down. You're trapped there, as Sebastian has to take you in and out on his 4wd. The food is not good and very overpriced and you're forced to eat there. Room overpriced, dirty, and I got bed bugs while I was staying there. He was weird with female travellers, touching one of the girls' ass 'accidentally' at the end was the final straw. Finally he tried to 'accidentally' overcharge me at the end. I left a day early, and didn't dispute, even I didn't feel safe.

Vibe Analysis

EcoVille Organic Life is a deep-jungle hostel for travelers who want the visit itself to be part of the adventure. The setting is the big deal: forested valley views, sunrise from the terrace or hammock, nearby waterfalls on the property, and a rough uphill access road that makes arrival feel off-grid fast. Food is a core part of the place. Breakfast is usually a highlight, with organic ingredients grown or prepared on site, plus hearty dinners, pizza, burgers, acai, kombucha, homemade beer, and healthy plates depending on what is available. The kitchen may have time restrictions, so this works best if eating at the hostel sounds like part of the plan. The social energy can be warm, odd, and very Sebastian-shaped: family-style hospitality, daily tours to waterfalls, jungle and beaches, music, campfire nights, and an 8 a.m. drum breakfast call. It can also feel chaotic or too salesy. This is more rustic jungle basecamp than polished town hostel, better for adventure, food, nature, and strange little scenes than for predictable logistics or remote work.

Signals to check

  • Access is genuinely tricky: the hostel is remote, the road is steep and rough, and shuttle timing or communication may be unreliable. 3 mentions Last mentioned Mar 9, 2025
  • The kitchen may close around early evening, and food, tours, drinks, or transport can feel expensive or pushed. 3 mentions Last mentioned Feb 27, 2025
  • Cleanliness and maintenance sound inconsistent, especially around the shared kitchen, older bedding, and common areas. 3 mentions Last mentioned Feb 25, 2026
  • The vibe is polarizing; solo women may want extra caution, especially because transport dependence can feel limiting. 3 mentions Last mentioned Mar 21, 2026
  • WiFi can cut out, and this is not a strong pick for remote work. 3 mentions Last mentioned Feb 25, 2026
