Hi, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Chanteclair, I believe the location was in a great spot. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and accommodating if you wanted recommendations. However, I do believe some of the beds on the second floor contained bed bugs. My friend and I woke up with bites on our arms, neck, and face on consecutive nights. I would advise having the rooms fumigated before renting them out to further customers. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Vibe Analysis
Chanteclair is a simple, old-Cannes budget hotel tucked in the center, close to the old town, Forville Market, restaurants, shops, the seafront, and the train station. It works best as a low-friction base for sleeping, walking everywhere, and keeping Cannes costs from going feral. The courtyard is the main charm move here. Breakfast can be served outside with a very French setup of bread, croissants, coffee, juice, and a quiet little patio vibe; the resident dog also adds a warm, oddball house feel. Rooms are modest rather than fancy: often small, sometimes basic, but private and usually enough for a short city stay. Some rooms have a shower or bathroom inside, while others use shared toilets or bathrooms on the landing. The host is a big part of the appeal, with a pattern of helpful, kind, flexible service around arrivals, local tips, luggage, and practical problems. This is more calm crashpad than social hostel. Pick it for central Cannes, character, budget control, and a peaceful courtyard, not for polished facilities or party energy.
