the hostel itself was so awesome! nice pool & cheap drinks at the bar with a very central location. the bathrooms had lots of bugs & i heard someone actually had bed bugs when i was there, but for me personally it was a great stay.

Ticuchi Hostal Oaxaca leans hard into the social side: pool, bar, outdoor kitchen, daily activities, and tours that keep the place moving. The location is central and easy for walking to the zocalo and other sights, and the pool is a real draw in Oaxaca heat. A lot of people come back for the friendly staff and volunteers, the food tour, salsa nights, karaoke, and the easygoing, meet-people atmosphere. The best parts are the common spaces and the things going on around them. The tradeoff is that it is not a quiet hideout. Cleanliness, hot water, and room privacy are the weak spots, and the experience depends a lot on which room you land in.
