This was a great hostel for a short stay in the area if you don’t mind not having a curtain. However they have a bed bug issue that needs to be resolved.

Faloe Hostel has a rare level of practical care: tour booking help, local food and activity tips, luggage storage between Sabah trips, flexible self check-in, and small details like big lockers, bedside outlets, reading lights, hooks, towels, filtered water, and laundry. It works especially well as a Kota Kinabalu base between island trips, Mount Kinabalu, Kinabatangan, Brunei, or late flights. The place is clean, calm, modern, and very organized, with comfy beds, strong AC, tidy shared bathrooms, a kitchen area, free simple breakfast, tea and coffee, books, games, Netflix, and a compact common area. The atmosphere can be friendly and social, but it leans chill rather than party-heavy. Location is near Imago mall, convenience stores, cafes, restaurants, and 24-hour food options, so daily logistics are easy. It is a bit outside the old city center and waterfront core, but Grab rides are cheap and walks are manageable for many routes.
