Punta Huanchaco Hostel

turned up and was told that they were full and had to go to another hostel

We did not appreciate how the owners tried to solve their overbooking problem by giving us a private dorm beds room as if it was an “upgrade” from the double room we had booked. Also, the water filter needs replacing.

The host Gigi is really friendly. The kitchen is a bit small. The lockers cannot fit a laptop. For a few nights it's a decent place though.

The owners are the sweetest people ever! I would have stayed here longer. Great outdoor space and comfy clean rooms. Kitchen is great and the cats are adorable!

I had a private room, the bed was comfortable, the price wasn't too bad. The owner was nice and chatty with some good suggestions for around town. lots of lounging areas. Great location if you are there to surf which I was. Off the main street area so it was relatively quiet. Small kitchen and storage area but I was only there for a couple days so it didn't matter much to me.

Honestly sad I couldnt stay longer. It was such a lovely hostel the owner (Dario and Gigi) where the kindest with great tips and information, great atmosphere too!! 100% recommend

We had a really nice time at Punto Huanchaco. It felt like home with Gigi and Dario and we enjoyed their company and our chats a lot. They gave us a lot of tips regarding places to eat and activities in Huanchaco. We would always come back.

Warme ontvangst van een zeer aangename host. Topsfeer in de hostel. Met anderen reizigers samen pizza's besteld voor nieuwjaar. Lekkere koffie!! Keuken is wel een beetje krap, sommige matrassen beginnen een beetje door te hangen. De host liet je echt aanvoelen als thuis. Superschattig hondje. Genoten van ons verblijf hier.

Really a special place. Gigi&Dario are the warmest, kindest hosts (and very helpful with local tips etc) and create a lovely, homely, laid-back atmosphere. Ideal location 5 mins from the point and I used Huanchaco as a base to explore Chicama and Pacasmayo. Good location in the town too, on a quiet street near most stuff. Incredible stay with attentive wonderful couple. Dario and GG are made for hosting with so may tips, chats and infos on the local area! 🏄‍♂️ the most wonderful humans in a real nice hostal with bike parking, small gym/workout space and outdoor areas for chilling. Thanks guys

Great hostel close to the surfbreak!

😊: La casa es amplia y muy cómoda. Aunque fui por turismo, tuve que trabajar un par de días y me encantó sentarme en la terraza del segundo piso que tiene una mesa con un parasol amplio y buena cobertura de internet (que funciona muy bien en toda la casa). Superbe expérience chez Gigi et Dario. Une guesthouse comme on l'aime, un acceuil très chaleureux, des recommandations pour les restaurants dans cette sympathique petite ville balnéaire, loin du bruit assourdissant de Trujilo ( à 35min depuis le centre, en collectivos 5PEN ou en taxi 25PEN) Merci pour ce court séjour chez vous, c'était très agréable, nous en garderons un super souvenir ! Dario und Gigi haben das Hostel in eine super familiäre Atmosphäre verwandelt. In keinem anderen Hostel habe ich mich so wohl gefühlt. Alles war sehr sauber und vor allem die Dusche mit konstant heißem Wasser war eine Wohltat. Es gibt auch einen kleinen Space für Yoga etc. 10/10

I had THE BEST stay at Punta Huanchaco Hostel. Dario & Gigi are the most welcoming people I’ve ever met. They were incredibly kind and helpful, it felt like I was staying over at my grandparents. They gave me some really good recommendations for surf lessons and places to eat. I even got a discount! I was there during a low season, so it wasn’t too busy. The hostel had everything I could’ve wanted and more. The people were just lovely, it was hard to leave this place.
