Bed bug reports

Confirmed Google Maps
In the night I woke up because my hands were itching and I saw bedbugs walking on the bed and table in the room. We were brought to another room. The owner of the hostel did not want to give us a refund after, we had to discuss this. Also I did not like the common spaces. The terrace on the top was not clean and and the one down inside was super small.

Vibe Analysis
Nanasqa Hostel is a quiet, artsy base on the edge of Nazca, roughly 10-20 minutes on foot from the main plaza depending on pace. The place leans relaxed and homemade: colorful wall art, traveler messages, a calm neighborhood, and a backpacker-house feel rather than polished hotel energy. The rooftop terrace is the main hangout zone, with shade, desert-mountain views, sunset time, reading space, beers, and easy conversation. The shared kitchen is a real strength too, with solid equipment including an oven and mixer in some accounts, plus enough setup for cooking instead of eating every meal out. Rooms are generally simple, with clean private rooms and comfortable beds showing up as strengths, though sound carries in parts of the building. Staff and volunteers can be warm, flexible, and helpful with luggage storage, late bus downtime, taxis, Nazca Lines flights, local tours, and practical logistics, but service consistency is not bulletproof. This is better for travelers who want a low-key, social-but-not-wild Nazca stop with cooking space and a rooftop than for anyone needing a central location, slick operations, or guaranteed quiet sleep.
Signals to check
- The hostel is outside the main center, so food, bus terminals, and the plaza can require a 10-25 minute walk or a taxi.
- Rooms can be noisy because of thin walls, metal doors, corridor-facing windows, street dogs, and activity in shared areas.
- Hot water, bathroom cleanliness, and shower pressure may be inconsistent.
- Tour and taxi organization can be very helpful, but it has also been unreliable or disappointing at times.
- Some private rooms may feel only semi-private because of corridor windows or poor sound isolation.
