Wat betreft hygiëne valt er nog genoeg te verbeteren. Het helpt als je personeel vraagt om bijvoorbeeld de douche schoon te maken, maar dat hoort niet bij mij te liggen. De laatste twee dagen ben ik ‘s nachts gebeten, waarvan ik denk dat dit bedwantsen zijn. Ik heb dit gelijk gemeld bij de receptie en aangegeven dat het goed is om niemand in dat bed te laten slapen. Een paar uur later kom ik weer in mijn kamer en hebben ze een nieuwe gast in hetzelfde bed ingecheckt. Ik ben daarop naar de receptie gegaan en aangegeven dat dit niet oké is. De receptie geeft ook aan niks aan het matras gedaan te hebben, zij hebben het doorgegeven aan de schoonmaker en de schoonmaker het allemaal wel oké vond. Daarop werd benoemd dat het misschien wel aan mij lag dat ik niet comfortabel was. Ik voelde mij daarin niet gehoord en heb dit daarop bij de manager (waarvan ik denk dat zij de manager was) aangegeven. Zij geeft aan dat receptie er mee bezig is gegaan. Of dit klopt, heb ik nog steeds mijn twijfels over. Voor mij is dit verblijf oké als je een goede locatie wil in Willemstad, maar verder zie je mij hier niet meer terug. ‘s avonds rondlopen in de omgeving van het hostel raad ik ook niet aan. Het ligt wel tien minuten lopen van Punda en Otrabanda, dus dat is wel fijn.

The old factory / village setting gives the property more character than a plain dorm block. It can feel relaxed and quiet rather than social or party-heavy, so it fits better for travelers using Willemstad as a base than for anyone chasing organized activities or a loud backpacker scene.
