Nice hostel but infested with bed bugs. Woke up with bites covering my face and body. Otherwise staff and location lovely but hygiene desperately needs improving

Vibe Analysis
The beach bar is the center of Lovesick: pool table, sofas, sea views, cheap drinks, happy hour, music bingo, sports when requested, and nights that can shift from chill cards to DJs, fire performers, bonfires, barbecues, or a proper party. It sits right by the sand in M'Pai Bay, a short walk from restaurants, the pier, quiet beaches, and the plankton beach. Lauren, Hans, and the volunteer crew give the place its best voltage. The style is simple island-hostel living rather than polished resort mode: friendly, social, a bit scruffy, and good for landing solo without feeling stranded. Boat trips, fishing days, local tips, and group dinners have been part of the rhythm, with friendly dogs and at least one cat adding to the loose beach-house feel. Rooms are basic but can be spacious, with comfy beds, fans, and mosquito nets in many beds. Some dorms may now have more solid walls instead of older bamboo partitions, but sound insulation is still inconsistent. Pick Lovesick for a cheap, social, beachside base with a handmade island pulse, not for silent sleep or hotel-grade facilities.
