Vibe Analysis
Dar Oussama is a small, simple hostel in Rabat's medina, close to the souks, river, gardens, beach, train station walks, and cheap food nearby. It has Moroccan-style decor, a cozy rooftop, private rooms and small mixed dorms, so the place can feel more intimate than a big backpacker factory. The rooftop is the clearest personality feature here: tea, casual hanging out, and a compact social area rather than a full party setup. There is also a restaurant connected with the same place or just across the way, with Moroccan food, occasional live music, and sometimes a discount. Rooms range from pretty, clean, calm, and comfortable to cramped, dark, damp, or poorly ventilated. Bathrooms are shared in parts of the hostel; they can be very clean, but they can also be tiny, wet after showers, smelly, or in rough condition. The rooftop kitchen exists, but it is not something to count on for real cooking. This is best for a short, budget-minded Rabat stop if location matters most and a small medina stay sounds fun. It is less ideal for light sleepers, anyone needing a staffed front desk, strong storage security, polished facilities, or reliable climate control.
