Sharky Hostel Oslob’s killer move is the whale shark setup: it is about a minute from the registration and boarding area, and the team helps with the brutal early start so you can be on one of the first boats before the crowd gets thick. It is a tactical base more than a comfort play. The people running it bring a lot of the charm. Jojo, Jomar, Nanay Zeny, Aunty Maria, and the family crew come across as warm, energetic, and hands-on with whale shark logistics, transport, ferry help, Sumilon Island, Tumalog Falls, bikes, and local tips. The social area has a pool table, water, and space to hang out, so a short stop can still feel friendly. The setup is rustic: bamboo huts, dorms, shared bathrooms, fans or dorm air-con, mosquito nets, and a green little compound close to snacks, simple food, the bus stop, and onward routes. It works best as a one-night mission for the sharks, then onward to Siquijor, Moalboal, Cebu, or the falls.
