Bed bug reports
-
Confirmed Booking.com
This place is a big disaster. It smells of weed, and the location says it all. Bed bugs were the center of attraction their bed. After running out of the hotel in the middle of the night and sleeping in our car, we confronted the manager the next day about the incident, and she tried so hard to defend themselves and place the blame on us. Instead of enjoying our trip, we spent most of our time Rewashing all our clothes. Instead of us enjoying our vacation.

Vibe Analysis
The backyard is the hook here: hammocks, a slackline, swings, a fire pit, bonfires, s'mores, and room to hang outside after Colorado Springs days. It gives the converted-motel setup a social center, with plenty of common space for cooking, lounging, working, and meeting other travelers. RAD Hostel leans active and friendly, with daily or frequent activities such as cookouts, drum circles, hikes, line dancing, karaoke, yoga, local events, and festival outings. It can work especially well for solo travelers who want an easy way into the room without a forced party-hostel script. The basics are practical: a well-equipped shared kitchen, laundry, fast WiFi, keypad locks, parking, bike rental, light breakfast, and some private rooms with a fridge or microwave. Rooms range from comfy, clean, and nicely decorated to basic or worn, so expect more handmade hostel energy than polished hotel standard. The location is useful for Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, I-25, groceries, buses, and driving around town, but the immediate stretch sits on a busy road and can feel industrial or awkward on foot. A car or comfort with buses makes the stay easier.
Signals to check
- Breakfast is light and can be too limited for gluten-free, protein-heavy, or early-start plans.
- The busy road location can bring noise and is not the nicest walking area after dark.
- Some rooms can feel worn, with carpet, temperature control, or small-room issues.
- Weed smell may be noticeable outside, especially near smoking areas.
- One severe bed bug incident sits alongside otherwise mixed cleanliness experiences.
- Deposit, incidental, early check-in, or late check-in charges may need extra attention before arrival.
