The lights in the bathrooms and showers were sensor lights, so I had to keep waving my hand while showering lol. The shower curtains also dont prevent the water from spreading onto the dry section, but it's still manageable.

the place smelled bad and you could tell it wasn't clean. I had bed bugs in my bed! just because it's cheap doesn't mean it has to be a nightmare! it's like you have to put up with bad behavior and bad living conditions because you don't pay much!

The hostel was dirty, and I found bedbugs in my bed. When I told the reception staff, they said, “Oh sorry, we had similar cases a couple of weeks ago.” So apparently, this wasn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last time. Absolutely unacceptable. If they already know about the problem, they should have taken care of it instead of continuing to host guests. I would never stay here again and don’t recommend it to anyone.

Bed bugs!! Dirty! RUN

The hygiene and cleanliness was really bad. I had to personally ask them to clean the bathrooms EVERY day I stayed, I waited till 3pm when I knew the cleaning crew was done , still no cleaning . Lack of respect for guests ?? The bathroom smelled disgusting , no toilet paper , toilet had stains for days showing it was not cleaned, sink not wiped down or floor. The shower was overpowering of mold smell- you can see the mold growing in the shower and on the walls - also not cleaned . The bedroom was not cleaned , floor not swept or mopped , surfaces had dust and crumbs from past guests and actual mold on the walls . Mattress was broken and the springs dug into your back. Kitchen was not clean. I was highly disappointed and it ruined my time in tallinn . I would not return and I would recommend you find another place . Also looking back at past reviews bed bugs were mentioned MANY TIMES on Google reviews . If you get a private room you will be downstairs next to the main door - people go in and out at all hours so you will get NO SLEEP.

Bed bugs. After few hours of sleep, I woke up in a bed with bugs. A nightmare night, I had reaction to bed bug bites. No other rooms available. I'm waiting for my refund.

At first I was afraid about bedbug situation after reading the comments. The volunteer girl said that our room was heated and cleaned two days ago. So I decided to stay. I didn’t face any problem about bedbugs. Toilets were small. I couldn’t move freely. Bathrooms were spacious. I stayed in 10 bed room. The room has 3 couch and 2 table. Kitchen was big. The location was really good because most of the recommended places were close to hostel area. Staff was good. Thanks for the experience

A limpeza do local deixa a desejar, o quarto em que fiquei (dormitório misto com 10 camas) possui uma espécie de divisória entre as camas feita de madeira, o que é um perfeito local para insetos se hospedarem, tendo em vista que não há limpeza constante. Somado a isso, a ventilação dos quartos e do hostel como um todo é extremamente precária, o que torna o ambiente muito abafado. Penso que esses pallets de madeira devem estar infestados de insetos, especialmente de percevejos, os chamados "bed bugs" porque fui picada inúmeras vezes nas costas, nos braços e no rosto (contei cerca de 19 picadas ao redor do meu corpo). Após o episódio, verifiquei nas avaliações do hostel que este não é o primeiro caso e, de fato, o local está cheio de percevejos que mordem os hóspedes constantemente. Isso é um absurdo, pois além do incômodo das coceiras incessantes, essas picadas podem desencadear reações alérgicas sérias, como foi o meu caso, acarretando em gastos com consultas médicas e medicamentos de uso oral e tópico. Os responsáveis deveriam fechar o hostel por alguns dias e realizar uma dedetização completa associada à uma limpeza pesada dos ambientes, especialmente embaixo e atrás dessas instalações de madeiras que acomodam os colchões!!!

Full of bed bugs and cockroaches

I was quite upset AFTER bookings when I read reviews of bedbugs. Reservation wad done so I decided to take a risk. However in my double private bedroom I didn’t encounter problems.

Mixed bed dorms are truly packed together. The bed I was assigned was not a bunk bed, and was a cot sandwiched between other sets of bunk beds with no privacy. No outlet was available. Further, my bed was dirty, with evidence of bed bugs.

Bed Bugs! Don't stay there, you'll regret it. I certainly did :(

This is a classic backpacker's hostel that's never been improved and looks like it has never been properly cleaned or upgraded in at least 10 or 15 years. This means: noisy doors, not enough lockers, young inexperienced volunteers doing most of the work, dirty as hell, no respect for the client, make your own bed, take the sheets down, no towel, cold showers, questionable people living there, etc. I saw bedbugs, some of my personal stuff was stolen by other guests, multiple staff were rude to me, frankly a bit of a hellish stay and most certainly not worth the money. On the plus side, the bed frames seem to be custom made and are pretty nice, but could be much better with curtains.

DON'T COME HERE. Infested with bed bugs. I woke up in the middle of the night, my feet had bites all over. Guy at the desk was helpful and friendly, but hostel was booked out so I had to find another place. And I didn't get my money back...

I had a horrible night being bit by bedbugs. So i had to wake up and and more then half night awake. They say the could refund my night but they don’t. Contact then by email they just ignore me. Kitchen are disgusting dirty. Bathroom very low sealing

Stay away, bed bugs!!! After the first night ofy stay, I've had bites on my whole body. Checked the bed and it was filled with bugs crawling around. I confronted the staff, but they didn't really care. I was not offered any other room/ nor did I get my money back. I was told I had to move out and find another hostel. There's 70€ down the drain. Also I contacted them over email and at least asked them for a refund, since I did not stay there after all since the hostel has sanitation issues. Yet again I was told off. Apparently no eligible reason to get a refund. What is then? It's truly unbelievable!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS – BED BUGS 🪳 – SCAM / I couldn’t even sleep in the bed I paid for. The dorm was INFESTED with bed bugs. At 4 a.m., desperate from the itching, I asked to change beds or rooms. I was told it wasn’t possible and that I had to wait until 8 a.m. for the manager . At 8 a.m., I explained the situation to the manager and asked for a refund or at least a room change as I did not sleep from all night . Her response? - she refuse any compensation because apparently this case happen to often so they can’t refund all their guests… - But she also implied it was my fault: apparently, bed bug infestations are “frequent,” it’s the “risk” you take when staying in a 16-bed dorm, and I should have read the reviews more carefully. Nice gaslighting 👍 Let me be clear: I understand that bed bugs can happen. But to refuse any help, any solution, and to blame the guest is simply not possible. Now all my clothes are contaminated… For me, this hostel is a scam. Avoid it at all costs!

Suddenly at first night I waked up at 1:35 am (I went to sleep at around 23, after I walked city and was very tired) I started to scratch and itch like crazy for note than hour, and couldn’t sleep two hours In the morning I realized that that was bedbugs Unbelievable, my back, hands, legs…

BED BUGS!! The beds are not great anyway, stuck in a little 'private' box. After a few hours sleep I woke up in a bed full of bugs. I got out and went to reception to report and the guy was not surprised, "Yea, I'll give you a refund ". They are aware that they have a problem with bed bugs, which would effect the whole dorm, not just my bed, yet they seem to do nothing about it. I was not the only one to complain and clearly not the first but they still keep selling the beds without doing a proper clean. I expect someone else was put into the same infected bed the following night. Avoid the place until it has had a good, proper clean!

BED BUGS. Woke up in the middle of the night with bites. I wrote to them, they didn't give me a refund. Apparently bed bugs are so common here that they would go bankrupt if they would start refunding people.

The hostel is located in a historical building which is cool. The common space is okay but the kitchen is a complete mess. As solo female travelers we did not feel 100% safe or comfortable in the hostel, many middle aged men would just stare at us while cooking. Overall not a good atmosphere for what we normally look for. The worst part has to be the beds, even tho they offer you some privacy, on the second night I woke up to 5+ bedbugs crawling on my bed. Do NOT stay here, I still have a rash.

BED BUGS!!!! I was in bed 206.8 and had a bed bug under my leg when i woke up and another one crawling on the wall!!! The hostel is pretty nice but this is unacceptable! Staff just said "okay" after i informed them.

They have a bed bug problem and me and my buddies got eaten alive. We had to leave the next day because of it

BEDBUGS!!! There seems to be a widespread bedbug issue for a long time now. It's obvious that the hostel has not done enough to resolve it, judging from the tens of Google reviews on the subject. I don't care how good or cheap the hostel would be otherwise, this is just simply unacceptable.

The hostel is old and have no hygiene. I wanted to cancel my booking because of the bed bugs but they didn't allow me to. The locker room is also not so safe as you just leave the luggage without no lockers or anything

Bed bugs 13.05.2025-15.05.2025 I stayed for two nights at this hostel from May 13 to May 15. After the first night, I noticed that my neck was quite itchy. I initially thought it was just an allergic reaction to the blanket. However, by the time I checked out of the hostel, the itchiness had become intense and came and went throughout the day. After I boarded my cruise, the itching on my neck, arms, and back got even worse. Once I settled into my cruise cabin, I finally saw how serious the condition on my neck was — that’s when I realized it was likely caused by bed bugs. How much time and work I deal with the situation is another story.. I immediately tried to contact the hostel by phone and email, but unfortunately, I received no response.

Terrible experience – bed bugs in the room! I stayed at this hostel and unfortunately discovered bed bugs during my stay. I even found one crawling on the wooden frame near my bed (see photo). This is completely unacceptable and a serious hygiene issue. The presence of bed bugs made it impossible to sleep, and I left the hostel with bites and the worry of bringing them home. Management should take immediate action to exterminate and ensure proper cleanliness. Until then, I strongly advise others to stay away.

First the towel was supposed to be included which it turned out not to be, second after you already book it they send a message about a 10euro deposit in cash which due to the late time I was not able to get and card authorisation was required to be placed on my personal bank card on which overall I have some reservations, further top bunk beds have weird ladders where you can't grip it from both sides and it makes it quite dangerous, the rooms were really hot especially top bunk and with so many people there was no socket near the beds and I wasn't comfortable charging my devices so far from me next to so many people, they do t tell your that you need to make your own bed (which for top bunk is quite a hassle especially after a already tiring day) and you have to take it off (the bed lining and covers in the morning), the mattress on the top bunk also have nearly any planks underneath and if something falls in a crack it might fall on someone underneath, overall top bunk because of the ladder was very dangerous, AND the biggest thing apart from the horrible temperature and not pleasant ambient smell in the room when I took of my lining and bed cover I found bed bugs which was just a cherry on top of an already bad experience (I have photos but somehow the app doesn't see most of my pictures anyway so I can't add it), the cleanliness of the toilets and showers was also not that nice but can't fault the staff with some many guests and toilet and shower cubicles.

The biggest bed bug i have seen in my life, rude manager kicking people out for finding bed bugs, friendly and helpful receptionists.

The place made me ill, there's no ventilation whatsoever in most of the areas, it's incredibly musty and uncomfortable. I felt like I couldn't breathe the entire time I was inside and have been ill for over a week now. There's an awful smell that lingers in the corridors too. Bites have also appeared on my body too, most likely from bedbugs which other users have also complained about. I wouldn't recommend this place if you care about your health.

Everyone have different stay opinions, but what wrote in the comments was correct, there is bed bug biting u! Also my sausages got stolen! 😂 what a sad experience, even i ask for the cctv footage, they said the cctv is working but never entertain me at all, but frankly speaking is really cheap hostel… so give n take

I stayed in this hostel and I was very disappointed. The beds were dirty and full of dust, and one of my friends found a bedbug crawling on her sheet during the night. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom, and after asking for it to be put in, the staff member didn't even know how to place it in the right spot; the toilet paper was placed on the floor. Choose something else if you can.

If I had read the other comments, I would not have booked. But I didn't see any bed bugs. Guests were normal. The place is cosy with a nice vide. The usb plug wasn't actually working which made me waste 1h in the morning, besides from that all is ok

First of all there were bedbugs in my room. Also they changed me from a 6 bed bedroom to a 16 bed bedroom because they overbooked. Lights were not working in one of the common bathrooms. I simply asked for refund and left the hostel, do not recommend.

- Good location, atmosphere wasn't to comfortable. First of all it could have been cleaner and when i told the staff i found bed bugs, i didn't really feel taken seriously although apparently they've had problems with that before. It seems like the bugs i found were already all dead, but i still didn' feel too good staying there. And curtains for some privacy in the dorms would have been nice and it's rather noisy.

Be careful with this hostel, I don't recommend booking there. There are bedbugs in the rooms. The staff knows this but they still take the reservation and cause problems for people.

I hope a proper exterminator is contacted to check, rather than them continuing to pick the sheets clean of visible insects, which seems to be the current method from what I was told. Outside of this location is great & once this issue is addressed I’m sure this would be a lovely hostel experience. Usually I don’t leave reviews, negative or not, just fell this is imperative information for incoming travelers.

Unwelcoming staff, messy in the bedroom, in the kitchen. Just a small stone age bath. WC too !!( The worst thing: "the Bedbugs" in my bed and I couldn't sleep normally. In short, I don't know why this hostel has such a recommendation but I think it is highly overrated and not worth it.. That was the worst hostel I've ever been to. .

BED BUGS! We were promised a full refund, which to me seems like the only right way to go about this. So we book the next place and pack our things. At the time of leaving we were told we won’t get our money for the night we already stayed and that they can’t reimburse for my friends booking at all, because it was paid online through booking.com Guys, not cool, figure it out. Bed bugs happen, this kind of shenanigans doesn’t have to.
