Not clean. No soap available in bathrooms, facilities not clean on arrival & woke up covered in bug bites.

I saw really big sized cockroaches in my room as I was packing. I also got bitten by a bug, hope it isn't a bed bug but it definitely is more itchy than mosquito bites. I had to notify them to clean the room, otherwise they won't clean it and the towels would stay there.

LISTEN, avoid this hostel at all cost!! i've just done the camino de santiago in portugal and that's when i started to stay in hostels rather than hotel, it gave me such a good experience along the way so i booked hostel in Italy as well. My whole travel from Nigeria to Morocco to portugal to spain then finally to Italy, i must say here booking Plus Florence is my worst choice!! 1. not clean (i've booked 4 nights and they never did cleaning, only to refill the shampoo on the table but never cleaned the bed or the room, the towels look and smell dirty )no privacy curtains and the beds are very close to each other, squeeky, no hanger inside the bathroom which makes it very inconvenient when taking a shower and it's noisy, you can hear everything especially the loud music at the bar. no hostel atmosphere at all, all you see is a bunch of school kids doing some kinda event, and sometimes they close the top terrace to hold private event and the common area is also small. 2. the elevator is slow, small and old. i saw many people walk the stairs because the elevator never come. and i feel bad for people who have luggages because narrow space inside the elevator. 3. there're mosquitoes inside the room. i got a few bites, so i checked the comments and i saw people also complaining about it. and also they have bed bugs!! 4. low efficiency at front desk and it caused long lines and waiting when checking in. And they're rude to customers. They're always having a good time giggling around with colleagues and when you speak to them it almost feels like you're interrupting them. And there's no hairdryer in the room so you have to borrow from them and the deposit is 20euro. When borrowing it, the woman clearly had an attitude pulling out a cold stupid face and i saw someone else experienced the same in the comments. I regretted not going through negative comments when booking.

Kamers werden elke dag verschoond, dus de kamers waren wel echt schoon. Maar ze hebben bedwantsen!!!! Ik denk dat de hele hostel vol zit met bedwantsen want we werden verplaats naar een andere kamer en daar was het vele erger!! Zolang zij dit niet hebben opgelost, zou ik het niet aanraden.

Le hotel n'est pas très mal situé, mais il y avait plein de punaises de lit qui m'ont vraiment beaucoup piqué et qui continuent de me piquer après. Initialement je pensais que c'étaint des moustiques, mais la quantité et forme de piqûres montrent que ce n'est pas le cas Pour clarification, ce n'est pas un problème si courant, c'est la première fois que ça m'arrive et il faut tout laver à 60C et nettoyer (inclus la valise en soit et les vêtements non utilisées) afin d'éviter d'en ramener à la maison en plus du dérangement de s piqûres partout et qui grattent vraiment beaucoup (besoin de prendre des anti allergiques)

Nuestra estancia fue desastrosa, al llegar había una cola enorme para hacer el checking, después nos dieron la habitación y nada más entrar percibimos un olor muy desagradable, como a tuberías, para colmo en la habitación habían chinches que nos picaron a todos y nos hizo tener unos picores insoportables y ronchas. Cuando pusimos reclamación a booking y al hotel, booking nos dijo que habían puesto la reclamación pero el hotel no contestaba, finalmente por una mala gestión nos hemos quedado sin indemnización (es lo mínimo que podrían hacer) y tampoco nos contestan más. Conclusión: estuvimos 2 días fatal por los picores y nadie se a hecho cargo, lamentable😡

I got bitten by bed bugs! All over my body and face. I'd like to post pics but not sure how to do it

BED BUGS, BED BUGS, BED BUGS! Busses and busses of tour groups, many of which aren't very friendly. Average food. Average rooms. BED BUGS! Avoid!

There was bedbugs in my bed. Stayed for 2 days and got bites all over me. Also there is no outlets.

The area is amazing, beautiful view and bar. We had some trouble with the rooms (toilets not working, and maybe a case of the bedbugs), but very nice all around.

It was amazing until we were accused of bringing bed bugs to the hostel. To be honest the manager was really rude. However, the rooms were clean and very spacious.

Found BED BUGS when I woke up in the morning. Front desk was helpful but the hostel policies are to make you feel helpless in this situation. They were kind enough to refund me for laundry but make you sign an agreement that makes it impossible for the guest to ask for hotel/medication/trauma refund. They have won multiple hostelworld awards but I dont know how they deserved it. Unhygenic and complete carelessness since this has happened here multiple times in the past and they havent taken any strong actions. Please stay away from here and find a better place for your visit in florence.

Bedbugs , filthy sheets , flooded bathroom, told the staff and they didn’t seem to care at all. Spend the extra couple bucks at stay at Ostello Bello Florence instead , much better.

At first, this hostel seemed nice. The staff seemed friendly and the lobby was good. As soon as we got in the room, I felt as if the room was unclean and there was dirt on the floor. That same night I found stains on my bedsheets. When we woke up, I found BED BUGS in my bed and I was astonished. I had never came across them in my life!

BEWARE: BED BUGS!!? See the video of the bugs we found in our bed. Upon arrival we checked for bed bugs and found several of these tiny bugs crawling all over our sheets. The whole place was sketchy and after we received our room with bugs we immediately asked for a refund and they said NO! They daid we would have to write a letter to corporate and request a refund! They were very rude and acted as if we were being ridiculous for leaving and not just merely letting the house keeping guy "fix it" by spraying chemicals on our bed. Watch the bug video I posted and decide for yourself if you would risk staying at Plus Florence.

My experience was an absolute nightmare. We discovered bed bugs infesting both our room and luggage! The management’s respons? Nobody assumed any responsibility, and they were utterly indifferent to our plight. We were left to fend for ourselves, forced to disinfect all of our personal belongings after this horrendous accommodation. Save yourself from the trouble and avoid this place at all costs!

We had booked a private room at the hotel with my sister, who got bitten by bed bugs. The hotel called a specialist who confirmed the issue. We spent one day of our trip washing all our clothes and visiting pharmacies because my sister had red itchy spots all over her body and a swollen hand. The hotel reimbursed us for the laundry costs, but the machines were barely functioning. They moved us to another room on the ground floor, right next to a busy main road, which made it impossible to sleep due to the noise outside. Overall, a very bad experience.

PLEASE READ!!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!! Whatever you do , do NOT stay here. Choose a smaller boutique hostel instead. Take this as your sign, do not stay here. First, the WiFi didn’t work for us for 3 days and the cell reception is awful. We quite literally had no way to use our phones at all in this hostel. Second, the front desk staff is SO RUDE!!!!! Maybe it’s a cultural difference thing for us but every time we talked to them, they were so dismissive and completely awful. Every problem someone had, they blamed it on the guest and took accountability for nothing. Neither did they provide solutions, just “figure it out, sorry” Third, this hostel is MASSIVE. It’s like an extremely shitty Disneyland hotel. It’s hard to navigate and nothing ever works. Elevator barely works, the ATM was out of service, sauna and indoor pool are out of service. Please take my advice, and stay somewhere smaller, like a boutique hostel that’s locally ran. Lastly, on our last night, we went to the front desk to try and trouble shoot the WiFi issue. The guy was so awful to us and we walked away, but as we were doing so, we saw a young student approach the front desk with bed bug bites ALL OVER HIS FACE!!! It was AWFUL!!! The front desk said to him, “sorry, that’s not us. Not trying to make you feel bad but that’s not our hostel. Wash your clothes” WHAT?! Who says that to a young student with bed bug bites all over his face from YOUR HOSTEL!!!! I’ve stayed in dozens of hostels all over the world and this is by far the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Please don’t come here.

Plus Florence is a mediocre, disgusting, hostile environment. I’m here with a big group of 16+ people, and we’ve only been here for a week (we’re staying here for another 2 weeks), but many people in our group have woken up with horrific, HUGE bed bug bites that don’t even look like them. We assumed they were mosquito bites due to how big and itchy they were, but as the nights went on they began to show in a pattern. One of our travelers began to show signs of a fever, stomach pain, and was constantly vomiting the whole night. The staff were inconsiderate, rude, and disrespectful whenever we would come up to them with any issues. The traveler brought up the bites to the front desk, they immediately started refuting it was from them, but instead claiming it was from the previous hotel we stayed at. We then explained that during our stay at that hotel, we had different roommates who were unharmed when we were staying in that hotel, but it was only a problem with the plus florence beds. After, the traveler and his roommate showed them the bug bites with huge welts on his face (pictured) and kept arguing with the front desk. They settled on the hotel giving the two “unlimited” money (even though over time this money became harder and harder to obtain, with the staff accusing them of not doing laundry with the money given to them) to wash & dry all their clothes in their facility after all of their clothes being at risk of contamination. One of them was up until 2am doing laundry while one was in bed sick and unable to move due to pain. The next morning, we were all informed to come back to the hotel and close up our suitcases in order for other rooms to be inspected by pest control. 2 rooms were found to have bed bugs, and we were unsure of how other rooms got bed bug bites, or if they were mosquito bites. For compensation, the hotel relations Laura pulled our group to the side to inform us that we will be receiving 20€ per PERSON in order to do our laundry. We are on a school trip so our chaperone asked Laura if we could come down and collect the money without an adult being present, and she accepted. There were over 10+ people here to hear this, but when a few of us came down to collect the money, she was nowhere to be seen, we were told to get a ticket and wait on a long line in order to speak to her, even though we were told to speak to her DIRECTLY, not wait on a line. The security guard at the front began to be hostile and physically grab 2 of us, trying to hand us a ticket for an appointment we did not need. We explained this to him calmly and instead of him leaving us be, we were saying the same things back and forth for at least 5 minutes. Laura is standing right infront of us and decides to ignore us, as if we’re not there. We call our chaperone down and all of a sudden, the security guard wants to leave us alone now and Laura is all of a sudden free to speak to us. When our chaperone asks why she wasn’t able to speak with us, she couldn’t give a coherent response. (she speaks fully english) We were given our money, but she claims to have said that it’s 20€ per room, and not person (there’s 2 people in each room). After arguing with this woman about the amount of money we should receive, she caved in and gave 20€ per person. The staff was inconsiderate, unprofessional and the situation could have been handled more efficiently and courteously instead of blaming the customer for the bug bites they received from their hospitality. Ontop of this, the two travelers who got bed bug bites were moved to a different room after the hotel claimed they were “fully booked out” of rooms and could not accommodate a room change, were moved to a smaller bathroom but not a bigger hotel room. (the two travelers are 5’10+ and couldn’t even fit through the bathroom door). the higher the floors go, the smaller the rooms get. After a week when the rooms got changed, and they went to go retrieve their sanitized luggage when pest control came but the rooms weren’t even cleaned. Everything left as is.

The lockers for bag storage have no way of locking them. But you can leave your bags with the security. I am also not sure because I didn’t see any but my boyfriend and I woke up with bug bites all over us not sure if it’s from the bed or not. Otherwise the place is a little chaotic because there’s so many people but overall I felt safe and enjoyed my time and I would recommend.

I noticed some bites on my leg and thought they were from mosquitoes since the window was open. But after visiting the doctor because the itching became too strong, I discovered they were actually bed bug bites, not mosquito bites.(unfortunately didn't discovered that during my stay so i didn't complain to the reception)

As I came in, i was given a different room to what I was supposed to get. It was a room on a higher floor, and with all the baggage we wanted to use the elevator that didn’t even work properly. So we had to use the stairs, realising that the room was in an awful condition. Cramped, separated beds (not the way I booked it), the sockets on the wall were almost coming off and hard to plug in. It was worse when I took a shower and the shower head was leaking, water didn’t flow properly and the hair dryer didn’t work half of the time because it was almost falling off the wall. The balcony was small and the door to close the balcony wasn’t able to close or open up properly so we had to bend down to actually get through it. After that I decided to change the room, and just after calling them and going downstairs through the steps, for a second of service to change the rooms and with not many people. We had to get a ticket and wait for our turn to change rooms. As soon as we changed rooms it was fine, but I would say the service was a bit disappointing. Apart from that, the room we stayed in was fine but in terms of cleaning, after the 3rd day, me and my partner got bed bug bites and same with the 4th day. We would also get an extra toilet paper every 2nd day, which in my opinion was not enough so we had to buy some for ourselves. Apart from that, the room was also slightly lacking privacy, there was a massive window by the outside area where people walk around, so we always had to keep it closed. Another thing was that the vending machines didn’t work properly. At the start I didn’t realise there was a vending machine downstairs the whole time, so we had to go all the way to the 4th floor to get a drink. Also mentioning that the elevator doesn’t work so we had to use the stairs. On one of the days I went there and it just robbed €5 off of me, getting nothing in return.

The location is very good, only about 15 minutes to the city center. The staff were nice and helpful. However, the check-in process took a very long time, which was quite uncomfortable, especially in the hot weather with no proper ventilation. Unfortunately, the bed linens had bedbugs, and I couldn’t sleep well because of itching all night.

Their team / manager could not care less when I had a bed bug scare. One nice staff member said they’d check my bed while I’m out for the day, and I could change rooms and wash my clothes if I was still not happy when I alerted them (ok, nice so far..). When I returned to the hostel another man I think with more authority with idgaf energy told me they didn’t find bugs, and showed no concern or apology for the fact I found bites on my body - he even questioned me when I said i know the difference between these bites and mosquito bites. I returned later and asked to move rooms (still properly concerned about my body and belongings) and he said I could but I wouldn’t get any money to wash my clothes since they couldn’t prove it was bed bugs (as though this was all a ploy for laundry money). At this point I don’t care if they could find the bed bugs or not, I was just bothered that they had no concern for my comfort, or the risk it may impose on other future guests.

En nuestra habitación había chinches, no una sino bastantes. Las descubrí el último día, aunque tenía sospechas desde el día anterior. Y cuando les llevo a recepción 1 chinche viva, de las múltiples que vi, solo me dicen que lo sienten y me ofrecen un vale para que lavara mi ropa en la lavandería gratis. Lamentable!

There were bedbugs and bite us in the first room we had, thankfully the receptionist changed our room immediately but in the next room the sheets and towels weren’t changed not once in the total of 5 nights we stayed there.

I stayed here recently for 3 nights. Right away being on the bed, I felt extremely itchy, Sure enough on the last day, I get a bed bug bite on my hand. I show it to staff and all the manager offered was another room but no refund, even though I told her I felt uncomfortable sleeping another night. So, we take the other room. The shower was flooding and I was standing in clogged water, and the shower door broke off. The next morning, I got 3 new bed bug bites and my husband got 6. Very upsetting.

Everything was really nice except the mosquitos and something like bed bugs.

While I did get bed bugs here, it actually did not have too bad an effect on my stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful with taking care of the bed bugs, and were not dismissive at all. I was almost immediately moved to a new room, and was given a refund on laundry needed for bed bugs. Giulia & Alezandra in particular were super sweet and helpful! Service was great, overall cleanliness was great, and it’s in a great location, absolute max. 30 minute walk from all attractions.

Had bed bugs and my daughter was badly bitten by them. No remote for the air conditioner and toilet button for flushing the toilet fell off.

Bedbugssss

Sadly I got bed bugs when I stayed there. There were also hairs on my bed, which is why it didn't seem very clean all in all. However some features like the pool were very cool. The hostel wasn't very social though. Value for money was good, but be careful when checking for bed bugs. I didn't tell the staff though, because I realised too late. I don't know how they would have reacted.

Bed bugs! Got probably 30+ bites when staying there at the end of September - room 216. Location is decent, and staff were friendly. Laundry was overpriced, and everything closed quite early.

I left room 12 with bed bugs bites all over my body!!!!! I can’t say much about the good side of the place after this experience

There were bed bugs in our bed. The reaction was to put is in the room next to it and we must do all the Washing of our clothes ourself. We have spended almost a whole day on it. No refund, no applogies, we were lucky to get Some washing coints. The staff was talking italian to each other and one was so impolite! Further more the dryers did not work probably. The swimming pool is not a swimming pool. It is so small, with dirty water and only 1.20, there was a lifeguard, why? And the kids were not allowed to move even. Check in takes for ever, long rows… Never go there with youre family!

This hostel is great, amazing location and great facilities. Really good showers! BUT, I think they may have a bug problem. On the days I was here I woke up with new bug bites each morning, a huge one on my hand and now some on my face. I checked for bed bugs, and I don’t think it’s that. I did notice on several occasions bugs flying around the beds, however. Overall, I think it’s a good hostel, I recommend it. But, I do think this should be looked into.

- The elevator takes forever to arrive (if it works at all, usually I have been leaving after 5 minutes of wait), so if you have luggage and your room is on one of the upper floors this is going to be very uncomfortable. - No room service: I’ve been staying for 3 nights and there was no cleaning/towel change/extra bathroom supplies. - Smell: our room had unbearable stench in it. I understand that this is a hostel, everyone has to share space with other guests and it comes with risks like this; however, during my entire stay of 3 nights the smell in my room was putrid and there was no way of getting rid of it. - One of the rules of this hostel is that you cannot stay outside of your room past 23:00 - at all, except for the reception area. I was on my phone at the stairwell next to the elevator and away from rooms but still was told by a security guy that I have to leave. It’s nice that they care about noise levels and their guests’ sleep so much but seems a little bit too much to me personally. - My friend says that he’s got bites from bed bugs during our stay - I can’t be sure about it but he’s positive, so I think it’s worth mentioning.

Bed bugs!!!! Paper thin walls. The bedroom door didn't open or close without putting some force into it. One rubbish pillow, which might as well not have existed. Waited over 20 mins to be checked in by one member of staff, when there were another 4/5 standing around. Extremely slow lifts. I understand you are booking into a hostel, but small changes would make a massive difference. We didn't visit the pool/bar area so can't comment on that.

Mosquitos and bedbugs

I had 2 separate reservations for 2 différent nights on my name. I didn’t think that it would create a problem because I booked it in advance. They didn’t check in advance that the same person has 2 reservations and they asked me to check out and check in again in another room which was extremely incorrect and inconvenient. Moreover, I was bited by some insects during the night. I don’t know if there were bedbugs who bited me there.. Also, during checkin there’s a big queue and they don’t really explain you which facilities you have etc , they just tell you where’s your room and bye. Another thing to consider: idk about the morning but in the afternoon there’s no sun around the swimming pool so some ppl go to the rooftop to take sunbathing, and the water in swimming pool was cold so we didn’t really enjoy the swimming pool. Regarding the ambiance in the hostel, it is not so fun. Very calm. The bar etc are closed after 23h. We wanted to smoke sitting in the bar but we were kicked out .
