I’ll start with the good! The staff when I was there was incredibly nice. And there were cool people chilling in the common area. And the location is great. The bad: I’ve probably stayed in 100 different hostels, this was by far the grossest. Walls are covered in black mold, the rooms are so stuffy and humid and the ceilings/air conditioners drip gross water, BDSM setup on the bed, and there are bed bugs and fleas. I could only power through one night here and had to leave. Stay elsewhere.

I WANNA GIVE LESSER THAN 1 STAR! Unfortunately, my experience was completely unacceptable. Upon arrival, I discovered the presence of bed bugs in the apartment. For health and safety reasons, I had to leave immediately and did not spend even one night in the property. This is not a minor inconvenience — it is a serious hygiene issue that makes the accommodation completely unfit for stay. I was initially assured that I would receive a refund, but once I left the property, the refund was denied. I find this behavior extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I cannot recommend this place to anyone until this issue is properly resolved.

There was mold, cockroaches and BED BUGS! Aside from a broken mattress I had to sleep in the first night.. this place should be closed to the public, it's a health hazard. Unfortunately I discovered the bed bugs after the first night there...

Expected the pictures, got the pictures just in uncleanly conditions. I wanted to like this place but the sight of cockroaches on the wall, unclean, lousy bathroom conditions and the black and brown suspicious spotting of the bedding was enough to be paranoid of getting bedbugs and such. Left after one night. My friend found a cigarette halfway smoked on her bed. Leaky ceiling as well.

Booked Casa Sanctur in San Juan, Costa Rica for my elderly in-laws—absolute nightmare! No proper reception, filthy room, unsafe street access, roaches and bed bugs. Given the conditions, they opted to sleep fully dressed on top the filthy sheets and were still eaten alive by bed bugs, the second night was worse torture. Photos and reviews were completely misleading. Definitely not worth $85 USD/night. Disgusted with both the hostel and HostelWorld. Never again!

AWFUL cockroach infestation and body hair all over the bed and bathroom. Room had barely been cleaned. We checked in and left our belongings for just a few hours and came back to find our luggage and the bed crawling with cockroaches. Tried to contact hotel staff but had no luck and had to leave. And I have never seen as much pubic hair as I did in the bathroom shower and on the floor. Also, upon turning the covers down to check for bed bugs, we found even more hair. Absolutely disgusting conditions. I'm used to staying in hostels like this and sometimes compromising on cleanliness or putting up with bugs, but this crossed a line.

The WORST hostel I’ve ever been! There was a RAT in one of the dorms. The owner didn’t even care. The place is very DIRTY and disgusting. We ended up with BED BUGS/FLEAS BITES all over our bodies!! Of course we ran away from that place! It was so sad and disappointing! We didn’t even received an apology and of course neither a refund. Those nights were a freaking nightmare! Please value yourself and don’t book this hostel just because you want to save a little money.

Honestly horrible. Definitely do not recommend. There were bed bugs, mold on the walls and in the shower, and people smoking and playing loud music until 4 in the morning. The kitchen was routinely gross, with unwashed dishes and flies everywhere. At least the AC works... Things might be different during non-covid times, but the whole Santurce district is a ghost town, day and night. The only redeeming factor of this place is the awesome rooftop deck. It's got a great view of the area, the lagoon, and t the Condado district.

Horrible hostel. Be prepared to bring home bedbugs. So many things wrong with this hostel. Extremely low water pressure, low gas pressure in the kitchen, lock was not secure, staff not attentive, NOT CLEAN AT ALL.
