Confirmado Hostelworld
Location was perfect as I was attending the F1 race at Albert Park, yet otherwise super noisy (there's a pub downstairs so don't expect to sleep before 3am on weekends). Relatively clean but pretty sure there were bed bugs, as I left with weird bites. Facilities ok, personel was nice and helpful, Sunday pancake welcome. It was fir for purposes but I wouldn't stay again.

Ritz Backpackers is in St Kilda with the tram right out front, so it works well as a base for the beach, the park, nearby shops, and getting into central Melbourne. The place has a social, lived-in feel, with common spaces built for hanging out and a kitchen that gets real use. The rooms lean practical rather than fancy, but several have privacy curtains, lights, fans, and power points at the beds. Some private rooms are spacious, and the hostel can be a solid low-frills option if you want a simple place to crash and keep moving. The building is older and the noise can carry. The bar downstairs, live music, hallway chatter, and street noise can all reach the rooms, especially at night. There are also lots of stairs, so it is not the easiest spot if you are hauling heavy bags. Staff are often friendly, and the place can feel clean and well kept when it is running smoothly.
