Bed bugs, for bit, sheet didn't fit the bed, room had an aweful smell. Loud. More like a college dorm, common bathroom downstairs was literally full of s*hit. Really wanted to like this place.

The bed bugs is my only complain, location is good breakfast is good, just need to take care of the bed bugs situation!!!

Am sorry, but a hostel isnt clean when it has bedbugs. I applied for to be refunded my 6 nights as i was bit first night, but no interesst from hostel in doing so. Customers service at booking.com refunded ca 1 night, but this is really not ok when on budget. Else disgusting guests whom keept door open to toilet when doing number two, guests talking in phone early and late, sneaky guest lurking around my bed early morning when at sleep. Ill never stay there ever again or at any other related to it. Poor light at bed with only usb charging options and no other. I did not feel safe and respected all together, and im not only one having bad experience ! I still want my ca 80€ back !

Das Essen ist schlecht, es gibt kaum Auswahl, vor allem wenn man sich vegetarisch ernährt. Sonst ist das Essen auch teilweise roh und nicht durch. Wir hatten Bettwanzen in unserem Zimmer und nicht nur eine, sondern MINDESTENS 10 Stück, die wir innerhalb kürzester Zeit gefunden haben. Dies geschah nachts und als wir dies gemeldet haben, war die Rezeption nicht überrascht und hat uns sofort ein neues Zimmer gegeben, ohne einen Beweis zu verlangen. In unserem neuen Zimmer haben wir am nächsten Tag dann auch wieder eine Bettwanze gefunden, aber es könnte auch sein, dass wir diese ins neue Zimmer geschleppt haben. Die Waschbecken in den 6er-Zimmern waren sehr klein und zum Gesichtwaschen unpraktikabel. Außerdem gab es mysteriöse Flecken auf der Bettwäsche, teilweise auch Löcher und der Boden der Zimmer war wirklich stark verschmutzt. Das einzig gute an diesem Albtraum war die Lage. Nichtsdestotrotz will ich niemals wieder hierfür Geld ausgeben und würde nicht empfehlen hier zu buchen.

Disgusting hostel with zero attention to Hygiene. We had bed bugs crawling around our room, beds, and clothes later on. After notifying the reception they said we could definitely change our room before explaining that all rooms are booked and a change won't be possible so you have to sleep another two nights with the bugs. Total disgrace!

Very dirty rooms,hairs in the shower, dirty socks left behind from previous guests, holes in the sheets,no AC in the fourth floor, they all knew but did not bother to tell the guests about it being a problem. And worst of all we had bed bugs, in the morning we woke up covered in them. In the morning small selection of food and not enough to cover all the guests. Good location

Stayed here for a week and it was my mistake! The rooms are not cleaned, but that's not the worst, I was literally eaten by bedbugs all week, not recommended!!

Worst hostel experience of my life. I went there for a school trip and it was a HORRIBLE time! To start off, the rooms looked like something straight out of a horror movie. The windows had no knobs and the light in the room was awful. The walls had some weird fluids on them and the pillows were yellow and dirty. The floor was dusty and unclean and you could tell that it has not been vacuumed in a long time. When it comes to the food, it was atrocious! The plates and the cutlery were straight up dirty and u had no way to check if they were properly washed beforehand.. I can not say anything good about the food either.. just a nightmare. The building also left a lot to be desired. Pure filth everywhere! You could see vomit stains (sometimes not even a stain but the actual thing..), fluids of unknown descent and other things while just walking to your room. Sadly, the worst thing is yet to come. Throughout the 3 days that i have spend there, everyday i woke up with new, weird and itchy marks. I tried to convice myself that i was just having an allergic reaction but after looking into it more, i am sure that i was bitten by bed bugs. Adding on, the smell there was foul. The hostel had suffered a cesspool issue and u can not imagine how bad the smell was on the top floor. My friends were also met with something that looked strangely like some kind of fungus/mould in the bathroom. The only nice thing that i can say about the hostel is that it has a good location. Overall, i do not recommend spending your vacation there. The stress and discomfort is not worth the fairly great location.

This place has bedbugs! I’m not one to leave bad reviews but I found one crawling in my bed the first night and asked for a refund so I can stay somewhere else. They said they were unable to do so,but they upgraded me to a private which was nice however, I did not feel confident my room was pest free and even noticed bites on me after I checked out. The bedding is not clean! My stay here really took away from an overall great experience in Budapest. Id advice staying elsewhere

We saw bedbugs in our room during our last travel date. We wanted to wash our clothes but the washing machine was broken. The person at reception didn't know what to do for us and told us it is possible they forgot to treat the room. This is unacceptable to have this. I had to throw away stuff and it destroy our return home because we needed to do a procedure to avoid contamination.

I went to the reception i dont know the name of the employee but he didnt even check the foto or the video of the bug and he just said we can change the room. The facility was overall not clean. The cleaning staff just takes the dirty bed sheets and trashes. I paid money to stay here and in the first night i got bit by bed bugs, had to change my room in the middle of the night. I would NOT recommend this place

Grundsätzlich darf man von einem Hostel nicht viel verlangen, das ist mir klar. Jedoch war es leider so das in unserem Zimmer Bettwanzen waren. Das Hostel hat sehr nett reagiert und uns ein neues Zimmer zugeordnet, wir durften kostenlos Wäsche waschen und haben das Frühstück geschenkt bekommen. Das neue Zimmer war auch sauberer, es lagen keine Baarhaare im Waschbecken und waren keine Haare in der Dusche. Positiv: - Perfekte Lage - Rezeptionspersonal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit - Frühstück ist super Negativ: - Da gibt es so einen Mitarbeiter groß gewachsen mit kurzen Haaren der unglaublich unfreundlich und eigentlich schon gruselig ist - Die Hygiene lässt wirklich zu wünschen übrig - Wenn man geräuschempfindlich ist, ist das Hostel überhaupt nichts für einen

HOSTAL INFIERNO DONDE EL PERSONAL TE PERSIGUE Y LAS CHINCHES TE ABRAZAN Según llegamos nos pareció precioso, puedes ver los pasillos externos que comunican hacia un patio exterior iluminado con luces y no haces mas que imaginar lo maravilloso que puedes estar, que pena que esa sensación durase tan poco. Nada más llegar a la habitación nos pareció ridículamente pequeña para seis personas que éramos pero lo más desesperante era que no solo éramos 6 en la habitación, sino 12.... 6 CHINCHES !!!! Eso no solo es una falta de higiene sino también de desinterés por parte del personal del hostel, porque no andabamos buscandolas sino que fuimos a tumbarnos y ahí estaban... esperando para picar. Lo más grave no fue eso sino cuando se lo comunicamos al personal para trasladarnos de habitación y al parecer las chinches no le parecían razón suficiente porque no nos la querían dar. Finalmente nos la dieron después de mucho insistir y de mostrarles una chinche delante de sus narices. No solo la falta de higiene, sino que el hostel se transforma a las 22:00 en un videojuego de terror donde tienes que huir de los fantasmas que circulan por los pasillos persiguiendote como un policía a un carterista para luego cascarte 200€ de muta que lo utilizan en sus cuidados personales en vez de para la mejora del establecimiento, que a parte de las chinches, hay duchas rotas, chicles pegados (a simple vista), cigarrillos a pie de mano y colchones de dudosa procedencia. Esta desagradable estancia no solo ha causado replantearme las 4 estrellas de este hostel, sino que me ha generado un trauma interno que hace que antes de acostarme dude de la fiabilidad de la limpieza y que sea incapaz de llevar cualquier prenda sin que me pique.

El hotel más asqueroso en el que he estado, había chinches en la habitación, estaba todo lleno de mierda, parecía que no habían limpiado en meses y seguramente seria así porque no había servicio de limpieza disponible, las sábanas tenían agujeros, el desayuno era horrible había cuatro panes tiesos una máquina de café y poco más, después de las 10 de la noche no puedes ni siquiera hablar en voz baja porque te ponen una multa de 200 euros y el segurata que esta pirado de la cabeza, te hecha la bronca si sales de la habitación después de esa hora como si fueses un niño de 6 años, la mayoría del mobiliario estaba roto y en algunas habitaciones no hay sitio ni para abrir la maleta, la ubicación no es tan buena, sí que está cerca del centro pero la calle en la que esta está llena de yonkis durmiendo en los portales y huele todo fatal y está lleno de basura.

5 chinches, digo... 5 estrellas Nos alojamos allí durante 3 noches y esta fue nuestra experiencia: En primer lugar el hotel no está bien situado. El barrio en el que se encontraba parecía una película de terror. Tenías que estar muy atento de que no te asaltasen o te robaran algo, por no hablar de que vendían sustancias peligrosas. Hablando del hotel, el techo de la recepción y de las salas comunitarias se caían a pedazos, y no hablemos de las paredes, que estaban todas rotas. Por otro lado el desayuno era nefasto, he visto comidas de perro mejor que estas. Además, las máquinas se rompían a cada rato y tardaban demasiado en arreglarlas. Las habitaciones son otro tema a discutir. En primer lugar, la vista de la terraza te puede encantar pero una vez que te acercas a la barandilla ya no lo vuelves a hacer de lo sueltas que están. Nada más entrar por la puerta entras directamente al paraíso del horror. Hay chicles por los suelos, polvo, telarañas.... pareciera como si no las hubieran limpiado en años. Además, se escucha un sonido despampanante en el baño que no parará hasta que te consuma por dentro. Adicionalmente, las sábanas del hotel están llenas de agujeros y medio rotas. También, dentro de ellas hace un calor descomunal y muchisima humedad. Por no hablar de que hay habitaciones en las que ni hay ventanas o no se pueden abrir. Para añadir, el tamaño de las habitaciones no es proporcional al número de alojados en ellas, tanto es así que parecen sardinas en lata. Para darle color a la historia, nos encontramos una serie de bichos a lo largo de nuestra estancia: desde arañas hasta chinches. Y ni se te ocurra pedirle al hotel que te cambie de habitación porque te pedirán pruebas y lo negarán todo, pero si consigues convencerles olvidate de dormir porque no te la darán hasta bien estrada la noche. Ya que hablamos del servicio, es importante comentar que es de lo más desagradable que me he encontrado. Por la noche, el personal decide perseguirte y amenazarte con que te van a denunciar y echarte del hotel. Además, no limpian la habitación ni recogen y mucho menos te hacen las camas, cosa que si hacen en otros lados. Únicamente te tratan como un ser inferior y te menosprecian si eres extranjero o adolescente.

Un servicio desastroso, unos desayunos que no le pueden gustar a nadie, cuando cae el chocolate de la máquina parezco yo cagando después de una comida india. Lo único bueno que puedo decir que está bien en el desayuno es el huevo cocido porque no hay que saber cocinarlo, un niño de dos años puede meter un huevo a una olla con agua caliente. Pero eso no es todo por las noches si sales de tu habitación y hablas un poco viene un segurata que parece un gorila, te persigue, te grita por el pasillo y te amenaza con ponerte una multa de 200€. El servicio de habitaciones es pésimo, ni siquiera te hacen la cama el primer día antes de entrar al hotel, tampoco te vacian las papeleras, las habitaciones están sucias, hay pelusas, chicles pegados y manchas de fluidos raros en pareces suelo y camas. También tienes unos invitados sorpresa en la cama los cuales al día siguiente te cagas en sus muertos. Por ellos está el dicho de cuando te vas a la cama decir que no te piquen las chinches aquí es de forma literal ya que hay habitaciones con chinches por todos lados.

I ran into a racist security guy who said, “I have a problem with your kind of people” There were bedbugs in the room and there wasn’t even any a very rude receptionist there as well who was confrontational instead of cooperative and helpful. The staff needs some education is customer service/support. The rooms were dirty and the cleaning staff didn’t clean them everyday. There wasn’t even any no toilet rolls either.

The cleaning staff didn’t clean the room at all. There wasn’t even any toilet rolls the whole day. To top it off, I had extended one night before the security guy incident happened and then the next morning a very rude receptionist told me that I can’t stay here because my stay has been over 2 weeks, even though I had been there for 3 nights. The last one was actually a relief because I wasn’t excited about staying there either. But they wouldn’t cancel the booking from their side and I would’ve been charged for the night. Thankfully there was a rational gentleman present behind the reception and he helped me out with that in the end. Overall very disappointed with my experience here, I do not recommend this place. I’ve stayed in a&o hostel last year and it was fine, no issues but this time, the staff doesn’t seem to know what customer service is.

Bed bugs at room 319 bed 2. Do Not Stay Here! Place is disgusting, receptionist girl is useless, night porter should be sacked. Smells disgusting. Ripped me off with no refund will file formal complaint. They won't do anything with the bed bugs infestation as previous reviews also confirmed the same problem months ago.

Don't stay here!!! The hostel is invested with bedbugs. I got bitten a lot and hat an allergic reaction to the bites and the hostel is not even refunding me my money. They explained to me that "it is impossible to get rid of bedbugs" and that is why they are not doing anything about this issue. Which is not true. The showers were also very dirty. So up to you if you want to risk it.

Wir hatten Bettwanzen im Bett. Löcher in der Wand wurden mit Kaugummis gestopft. Fenster kann nicht geöffnet werden, da die Griffe fehlen. Fremde Männer befinden sich im Hotel und klopfen an den Türen. Haarbüschel an der Klobürste. Baustelle mitten im Hotel. NIE WIEDER!!

Don’t stay here! There is a serious bed bug problem, which I have had a severe allergic reaction to. I saw other reviews from even a year back mentioning bed bugs so it hasn’t been prioritised. I stayed in room 216.

We saw this place and was skeptical at first, but when we saw the good reviews we went for it. The place was nothing like the pictures. There were constructions inside and it felt like we were staying at a construction site. The rooms were very tiny ( and we booked a private room with a private bathroom) there is minimal space between the bed and the wall, you can only stand there. The most discusting thing is that there were BED BUGS, we kept itching the entire trip. We left the place at around 2 am.

I stayed 6 bed room. Each beds have usb charge socket and light but 4 beds didn’t work . There was only one socket so 4 ppl try to share to charge phone. I got few bite on my body. Probably bed bugs

NO IR Estuve con mi pareja hace unos días. La higiene deja mucho que desear. No limpian la habitación ninguno de los días que pasas en el hostal. Además, en muchos comentarios se ve que hay CHINCHES y pueden ver las fotos. La ubicación no es muy buena, porque está bastante lejos de todo. Mínimo 30 minutos andando y no tiene transportes cerca. Las habitaciones son enanas y se oye todo lo que pase en las habitaciones de al lado. No volveremos a A&O

- Room doesn't have much space to move around. If there were 2 people it would be too small - wall was dirty - my legs were itchy when sleeping. I hope there are no bedbugs, I would suggest the staff look at this and do deep clean - bed and pillow were hard

There was itching when we slept on the bed and felt like bed bugs . May be something to inspect for the property as we could not conclde that by anyway.

BED BUGS !! PUNAISES DE LIT !! j'aurais dû lire les commentaires avant de réserver, cela fait au moins un an que les voyageurs se plaignent des punaises de lit, a priori ce problème n'est toujours pas réglé. L'emplacement central et le cadre sympa ne rattrapent pas ça.

Cool staff and decent breakfast! But some of the staff had no effort to manage guest who were smoking in the room. Moreover and most important, I had several bedbug bites after the stay in Room 219. I had a positive feelings in a&o brand, but I should reconsider visiting again later.

You should know that: The music is always very loud and the workspace is in the same place that people hangout, so it can get very noisy. The staff are ok, but not proactive, so there were many times that the tables of the common areas were dirty for many hours! You can't open the windows of the rooms, so if you are sharing the room, it can get very smelly! The luggage room and laundry is not working!

Es mi cama hacia chinches y tengo fotos, me quede una noche y fue suficiente para no quedarme otra más. Dentro de los servicios q supuestamente tienen es el de las consigas y no, no lo tienen a disposición así que give que pasar un Locker... Solo necesitaba una cama limpia y un Locker x unas horas y no lo supieron cumplir. Termine decepcionada.

De bedden zaten vol bedwantsen. Dit werd gemeld maar er werd niets aan gedaan. De vuilbakken werden niet leeggemaakt. Onder de bedden is de poetsploeg al jaren niet meer geweest. De hygiëne was over het algemeen slecht. De faciliteiten waren ook niet allemaal beschikbaar. We konden bijvoorbeeld geen gebruik maken van de wasmachines.

I had booked for 3 nights, but just left after first night. The aircon did not work so the room was super hot because the windows could not open either. But the worst part is the bed bugs. First night I checked the sheets and mattress, and could not see any indication of them. When I woke in the morning I had over 30 bites on my left leg and 7 bites on my stomage. There was some bites on my butt and other leg also. I was so glad I did not get any bites in my face because the bites look terrible and were ichy. Staff was friendly but could not help with aircon, windows or bed bug problem.

Hi, I stayed at your Budapest hostel location from 6 August - 9 August 2023. I was in room 219 and slept in bed 6. I woke up with bites all over my body that were swollen and itchy on the morning of August 7th. I went out and bought new sheets and towels hoping that would help. That costs me 27 additional euros to my costs. Additionally, I had to buy cream and medicine from a pharmacy and that cost me even more money. The next morning on August 8th I woke up with a bug biting me and even more bites. The bug was red which bed bugs often turn red when they have just fed off a person. I was absolutely disgusted and couldn't sleep or be near that bed again for the rest of my stay. I believe there is a bed bug problem with that mattress. I am writing to you requesting a refund. I was unable to sleep and had disgusting bites all over me. I shouldn't be waking up with bugs on me when I paid for a clean bed to sleep in. Attached to this email are pictures of the bites. I had at least 14 bites and can show you all of them in pictures if needed, but just added pics of a couple to this email. I am able to show location and times that these were taken if needed. I also have a picture of one of the bugs after I killed it. I attached that picture, but it was small so it was impossible to get a clear photo. Please let me know if you need further information. The staff was amazing and it was close to a lot of public transportation. But I woke up with a bug biting me and believe it was bed bugs. I have at least 14 all over my body.
