When we arrived in our room, we discovered either bedbugs or a cockroach under one of the mattresses. What made the situation even more unsettling was that the person at the reception didn’t seem surprised or concerned when we informed them. We were given a new room, but it appeared to be under renovation. It was dusty, and about half of the power outlets were missing—just open holes in the wall. The room also had very limited floor space, which was difficult since we had four large suitcases. The worst part was that, after finding pests in the first room, we spent the rest of our stay terrified of bringing something home in our luggage. Overall, a disappointing experience despite the kind staff.

Ça aurait été top s'il n'y avait pas eu DES PUNAISES DE LIT DANS MA CHAMBRE. En le sachant, je demande si je peut changer de chambre et on m'explique que non, sans me donner d'autres solutions. J'ai passé une nuit horrible, super avant de commencer mon nouveau travail, merci beaucoup J'espère être dédommagée rapidement.

Cool place I was in an 18 person dorm but it wasn't full and I had a great time here, didn't find it very social but I wasn't looking for that either. I found the common areas and my little pod really clean a few other reviews mention bed bugs and I think its quite hit or miss whether you get a clean bed, I did luckily but was paranoid at night about bed bugs. so didnt sleep well. Before you come here learn the signs of bed bugs and check your bed pod here before you get in. The sleeping area was super quiet though felt private. I had a great time in lyon its a great city and this hotel is well located. Big lockers too.

Notice: Bedbugs I would not recommend this place. The cleanliness could be improved – my bed still had hairs from the previous guest, and on the floor there were hairs, dirt, and toenail clippings. The sleeping pods get quite warm during the night, and the beds make noise with every movement. Unfortunately, I was also bitten by bedbugs. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly.

I had bedbugs from the dorm. A real big one at that. Talking back and forth during my discovery one day later, they said they wanted to check on the dorm the same day. They offered me help at first in form of helping me clean my clothes. Later during the conversation over the days, they’d only help me with my clothes if I’d go to the reception at Pilo. (where I would get free laundry) During the dragging conversation I was already 200 km away and the following days additional 400km. So the offer seemed to be only a half hearted attempt to help me check into other hostels again. (Did my laundry myself the same day already. But I did not get any further help, other then the offer to spend extra days coming back to Pilo and doing it there…) I’m greatly disappointed in such behaviour as everything else was really really nice…

hatte erst bedenken wegen der rezensionen über bettwanzen, hitze, etc. aber ich hatte keinerlei beschwerden und fand das bett sogar sehr komfortabel. hab die privatsphäre der kapselbetten sehr geschätzt und fande es auch nicht zu heiß (anfang september), die belüftung war in ordnung. der standort ist richtig gut, in der nähe von leckeren boulangeries, einer bar mit coolen musikevents und restos. und preis 22€ die nacht ist unschlagbar!!

I got 70 bites from bed bugs. I stay 2 nights and they refund me the stay. They wash my cloths and everything for me. The sheets and bed was clean. I found actual bed bugs in the hole under the bed. Maybe 10 of them. They move me to a different room the second night. I have 12 hours reaction time from bed bug.

Bed bugs in dorm beds, and when we told the reception staff that there was multiple bed bugs in one of our beds, a member of staff was rude & unpleasant, however we luckily managed to upgrade to a private room and was told we could stay there for 3 nights. However, we were abruptly told in the morning that we had an hour to pack our stuff and move back to another dorm. We said that we didn’t feel comfortable going into another dorm where we previously experienced bed bugs, so we requested to pay to upgrade to a private room. From then on, the stay was lovely and the lady at reception was very helpful!!

Pilo hostel was nice, I especially enjoyed the location as it was close enough to my friends' place whom I was visiting. The courtyard and common areas are to die for! Staff were kind and helpful, everyone spoke English. The beds felt a bit claustrophobic and I was nervous as I read a couple of reviews before arriving that some people woke up with bedbug bites. I think I was ok, but I was a bit stressed. Overall, would come back mostly due to the location and courtyard. Thanks

Bedbugs!!! Got them all over my legs. Room 606. Also my cushion smelled bad, but the staff is very friendly to give me a fresh new one.

Le pire hôtel vraiment n’y allez pas les employés il son pas respectueux aucune humanité il mérite pas d’avoir autant de bon commentaire la nourriture et très cher pour rien les toilettes son dégueulasse en plus récemment, il y a eu des punaises de lit vraiment Il faut vraiment pas y aller à cet hôtel, il y a plein d’alternatives, je sais que c’est pas cher, mais ils savent que la qualité elle est pas au rendez-vous c’est pour ça qu’il baisse les prix Il devrait fermer définitivement.

Le pire Auberge que j’ai jamais fait, j’ai retrouvé des punaises de lit sur mes vêtements, je vous Montre des photos, c’est indéniablele j’ai dû aller aux urgences parce que j’ai fait une réaction allergique pour ça vraiment une catastrophe personnel qui est pas accueillant Ils sont très désagréables ainsi que les deux responsables , il y a de la poussière dans les coins du lit Dans les draps également, le restaurant est très cher, pour ce que c’est il y a rien de plus exécrable que cet hôtel Vraiment fuyez j’ai eu plein d’autres boutons, À FUIRRRRR J’ai bien le certificat médical qui prouve que c’est bien des punaises de lit, en plus ils se permettent de mentir vraiment n’allait vraiment pas dans cet hôtel, c’est le pire Hotel, de France Il y a même une amie à moi qui a eu des punaises de lit Mais en fait c’est tellement honteux de le dire que on ose pas le dire en fait Et je l’ai pas dit pour pas créer plus de problème, parce que déjà j’avais un différent avec certains Personne qui travaille là-bas franchement très Désagréable, rien ne va, je me suis fait voler ma nourriture dans le réfrigérateur, le pire Hotel aucune sécurité et en plus le monsieur Le Responsable, je lui ai dit que j’ai perdu mon chargeur, il a dit qu’il était pas responsable alors que je l’ai perdu la cuisine Bref en tout cas c’est le pire Hotel que j’ai jamais fait.

J'ai été piqué par des punaises de lit pendant ma nuit passée en dortoir, ce qui a perturbé mon sommeil, et je suis certain que c'était des punaises de lit car j'en ai vu ramper sur et sous mon matelas (dortoir n°604 lit n°7) en soulevant le matelas et en éclairant le drap. J'ai prévenu l'accueil de l'hôtel.

Attention il y a des punaises de lit dans cet établissement, c’est vraiment dommage 😢 j’ai signalé le problème à la réception qui m’a fait changé de lit et m’a offert un petit déjeuner en compensation 😢 mais j’ai passé une très mauvaise nuit. Faites bien attention

Saleté ! Punaise de lits

One of the receptionists (guy with dark hair and stubble) is extremely rude and will sigh out loud at everything you ask or say. He openly mocked my British accent upon check in and continued to be difficult throughout my stay. I found a bed bug here and on the final day, my pixel earbuds were quite clearly stolen by one of the cleaning staff. The only positives are the bathrooms and the hostel bar. The place is full of local people however and there is absolutely no social vibe for travellers.

J’ai décidé de redonner une chance à cette auberge deux années après son ouverture et perso, j’suis un peu partagée. C’était sympa d’avoir le dortoir de 16 pour soi (et dieu sait que c’est rare) mais en vrai l’idée est bof. De même, c’est cool de prévenir quand une caution est utilisée sur le compte bancaire le temps du séjour, heureusement que cette caution est relâchée rapidement. Et heureusement que j’ai rien trouvé ni rien ramené au niveau des punaises de lit, j’étais à deux doigts de faire une énorme crise d’angoisse. Bref, c’est pas demain que je reviendrai ici ☹️

INFECTÉ DE PUNAISES DE LIT je suis rentrée chez moi avec 50 doses sur le corps. Il y avait des saletés sur le côté de mon lit également, à croire qu’ils n’avaient pas été nettoyé.

Dorm rooms have bedbugs so beware (see photo). The bunk beds are not very well cleaned either. I also found the metal lockers to be very, very noisy in 16 person dorms. The common areas are nice, but unfortunately don’t outweigh bedbugs and poor dorm infrastructure.

The dorms were filthy and had a disgusting smell - the bathrooms especially were very unclean (I don't think they were cleaned once during my stay .. there were 18 people staying in my dorm). My bed was not clean - they were a lot of stains on the mattress that I cleaned myself. The pillow had yellow stains all over it. After my stay, I developed a rash that I had to go to the doctors, which the doctor said it was bedbugs. Two guests kept putting their belongings on my bed - even though I had closed my curtain. The wi-fi did not work.

They say city center, sure it’s in the first but still a decent 20 min uphill hike from the nearest metro station and the Opera. Staff aren’t as nice. Bed not super clean, found dead bed bugs and remains of the chemicals they used to kill them. No atmosphere at all, pretty dead honestly. Too expensive for the service they offer. Definitely wouldn’t stay there again.

BED BUGS! Honteux le service commercial - je retrouve des punaises de lit dans mon lit et la gérance ne fait aucun geste! Scandaleux la manière dont on m’a répondu. Si vous aviez au moins fait un petit geste (même juste offrir le late check out de 25€ que j’ai payé en plus) ou montré un peu de gêne suite à cette découverte je vous aurais épargné la review sur toutes les plateformes. Date de ma visite du 26 au 28/12 si vous voulez coacher vos équipes à répondre à un client dans ce genre de situation.

Conveniently located in the suburb of Croix Rousse. I stayed in a 16 person room, which would have been fine, except 1 out of 2 of the toilets was broken. (This hostel does not have a shared communal bathroom on each floor. The only option was to share the ensuite in each room, 2 toilets for 16 people is already not a lot!) Apparently the toilet had been broken since a week ago, but they continued to take bookings for this room. As you might imagine, since the rooms are only cleaned once a day, the state of the 1 working toilet was less than ideal. (Although, you cannot blame the hostel for the behaviour of their guests, more toilets and showers would have been better based on the density of their bookings.) The capsule beds also need a good detail vacuuming. Dust and hair accumulation as seen in photos attached. There were also random people "visiting" our rooms, brought in by guests. Would not recommend the big dorm rooms. Other than that, the hostel was fine, no bedbugs, and comfortable beds.

BED BUGS! Shameful customer service - I found bed bugs in my bed, and management did nothing about it (not a euro discount on either of both nights)! The way I was responded to is scandalous - I felt like I was the trouble flagging this issue. If you had at least made a small gesture (even just offering the €25 late check-out fee I paid), or shown at least a little bit of concern after this discovery, I would have spared you this review on all platforms. The shelf around the mattress was VERY dirty. It was evident it hadn't been properly cleaned (or at least swept) for a long time. Plus, I got bitten by bed bugs, which further proves their low hygiene standards.

Great hostel. The facilities were great and the dorm beds have curtains so are fairly private. The location is decent, albeit not so central. The staff were very friendly - particular shout out to Victor, whose constant cheer and helpful advice for seeing Lyon was greatly appreciated! The only downside was the bed bugs - let's hope they deal with them!

However, we arrived in the room and it had almost no lighting, with no lamps next to the bed which made it impossible to read or do anything throughout the sleeping area. The heating was on at a very high temperature considering also the mild weather of the days we stayed, we tried to turn it down and the next day found it at an even higher temperature when we had turned it off. The worst was the total lack of cleanliness in the room. After sleeping in bed the first night my boyfriend and I were covered with an aggressive skin rush that also forced us to consult a doctor given either by failure to clean the sheets or by bed bugs. Truly a terrible experience.

Lieu devenu miteux au fil des mois qui passent , un manque d'hygiène atroce dans la cuisine (frigo dégueulasse) dans les chambres des puces et punaises de lit .une poussière statique a vous couper le souffle sur les dessus de lit de meuble et autres brefs un mirage l'image d'arrivée avec terrasse et le sourire hypocrite d'incompétents a l'accueil d'ailleurs le personnel change comme le temps a Lyon dû au manque de professionnalisme générale !! Niveau direction on en parle PAS absence totale !! Ah Oui Sans oublier leur oubli a appliqué la réduction pour les séjours dépassant 5nuits ! piquer par des punaises preuves à l'appui en photo et betes ramener physiquement !! Ah ayant séjourné longtemps des affaires oublié ds une chambre qui ressurgissent portez par le personnel 🤦🏽‍♂️ le Graal parce que un Mohamed a vécu le même calvaire !????

Very comfortable puffy pillow and duvet. Adequate mattress: less comfort but total freedom from bedbugs. Capsule bed a smidgen odd to climb into but quite quiet. Great atmosphere, large community watching soccer match in courtyard. In the summer heat, the walk up the steep pente of Croix-Rousse neighborhood felt long. But it is a cool neighborhood with a lot of street art.

the location is very convenient but the hotel itself is not clean, the showers don't work properly, the air conditioner doesn't work at all and we are in the beginning of summer, and the beds have bed bugs, I would say there are a lot better hotels for this price.
