Infested with bed bugs- massive health and safety concern

BED BUGS!!!! And unfriendly service. Don’t waste your money.

Either these reviews are all BS bots or people are disgusting. Within 10 minutes of laying down on the bed, I was bitten by bed bugs so big they look like small roaches. When I pulled back the cover, it had brown dirt spots all over it. The room smelled musty and it was hot. Bathrooms are gross but I’m mostly upset about the bed bugs. I’m currently sitting in a wooden rocking chair at 2:38 am with my feet tucked in and I’m a 5’11” grown man. Can’t sleep at all. I want a refund asap

It’s smelled. And there were bed bugs. I was itching for 3 weeks. And staff accused me of bringing them lol as if I even look like the type of person who’d have bed bugs crawling on him after coming home from work that day. It also smells. Management wouldn’t offer a refund and would rather take an L on the reviews. Definitely would not recommend

ALERT! ALERT! - THIS HOTEL HAS BED BUGS (my doctor confirmed), - I was bitten 30+ times first night and it ruined by stay and journey home to UK.

Furnitures are old but rooms are clean. I haven’t seen any bedbugs as commented. Very nice management. They allowed for early check-in. Great location.

You know, it is a nice place to stay right in the heart of gaslamp quarter. The whole place is dated for sure but that adds to the charm. The main thing is that the room was clean, no bedbugs and the management was nice. I would recommend for those looking for a quiet clean place to sleep and go out to explore SD.

BED BUGS!!!! Wife and I are covered in bites from head to toe after staying in this hotel. While it seems like a good deal and looks clean, I'd check the mattress if I stayed there. Called the hotel to let them know and the owner said, and I quote "nothing I can do about it"

****Revision- We stayed here again and found a bed bug!! I informed management, but they didn't seem to care so I thought I would share along with a photo so people can be aware*** The hotel was what I expected, a room with a bed, tv, dresser, and sink. The bathrooms were at the end of the hall with a shower on either side. I'm not sure about the shared bathroom thing yet, but they were clean so it wasn't too bad. It's something to get used to, sharing a bathroom at a hotel, but it seems to almost be the norm out here so... We're giving it a shot at least.

Stayed on a Saturday in early Oct.2020 in a room with private bath for $83 including tax. The room was clean and there were NO bedbugs or roaches!(They have coverings over box springs room.andd matress.) There is also a microwave for guest to use in the laundry room. I had a problem with tv but the owner/manager stayed in hallway until she knew that a very nice.gentleman named Brandon or Brendon(I'm not sure)took care of tv before she left. I was very appreciative that she came up right away and had it fixed right away!(Great Service) You can't beat this place.for the.price and cleanliness!In Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego to boot!Thank You again!

Okay, this is what I'd call a typical "hole in the wall" hotel/hostel. It is one of those places where some people live indefinitely - but please bear with me. My stay was absolutely fine: the bathrooms were shared - overall everything is a bit run down but clean as a whistle, no signs of bedbug etc. The room is clean, and I had no issues with noises from the street nor neighbors. The place does smell a bit like a nursing home though. There are no breakfast facilities, but who needs one, when you're in the center of the Gas Lamp District. All the food and drinks you'll ever need are within a couple of minutes walking down the road. Even grocery stores are nearby. And the San Diego convention center is in walking distance too. So if you need to save on your trips' expenses but still want to stay within this district, and you're not in need of much more than a bed and a shower, don't hesitate to stay over here.

I was looking for somewhere cheaper than a hotel but more private than just a hostel, and this fit that! It's run by an old couple who are not always at the desk. Everything is kinda grungy, there's bedbugs, bathrooms are separate from bedrooms, but it's the best you can get in San Diego for 50/night. Also close to lots of restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter, though I found when visiting that most of those catered towards a much wealthier crowd
