There are bedbugs on our room. The bed on the lower bunk on left side is infected with bed bugs. My friend came home with several skin red tags on her face and body that is obviously coming from bedbugs.

In our first night we stayed in the room 839 and I noticed a looot of bedbugs in our beds, I asked them to change rooms in the middle of the night. They changed us to the room 845 and washed our clothes. I didn’t notice any bedbugs in the new room but after the second night me and my parents got a lot of bites in our bodies. Now I don’t know if the bites are from the first room or if there were bedbugs in the second room and we couldn’t see. Anyways, the pace is nice, apart from this that unfortunately is a veeeery big problem.

Bed linen and towels need renewing. Some kind of bed bugs in bed. Would not stay here again.

I stayed in a mixed room of 7 beds and I was bitten by bedbugs while I was there. I reported it at the front desk, a guy check my bed bunk and saw nothing but I continued to got bitten everynight. After 2 months I can confirm they were bedbugs and I brought them home. Thanks to you.

Room floors was a bit dirty and dusty. Needs a proper sweeping. the room walls also showed signs of wear and tear like stains. One bed had bedbugs otherwise sheets and bathroom were clean The laundry and luggage storage is convenient. Conveniently located near train station Breakfast restaurant near it was good too. Lots of young people and families were there.

Day 1 the shower was flooding. We told the front and he said he would send someone up.. he didn’t write anything down or ask for our room # we gave him our room number. No one came. the night we left we found a bed bug on our toiletries bag, we told the girl in the front and she said if we weren’t leaving they have a protocol. We emailed the hostel to make sure the room was cleaned for bedbugs after we left and for a laundry reimbursement. no response. Other than that great. Won’t stay again

Originally posted a good review (in order to get the free coffee for a review) but subsequently have discovered our room had bed bugs. The front staff overcharged us for breakfast and were generally unhelpful for any tips around the city. The kitchen also was poorly equipped with rarely any bowls, glasses, forks and only a 4 burner stove top for the whole hostel. Would only say it has an excellent location next to the station (expensive train trip for 1 stop to central station), nice area for small kids to play, and the lovely cleaning staff but otherwise would not return.

My reservation for a 7-bed dorm room was 'upgraded' (downside for a lone traveler looking to meet people) upon arrival to a single hotel room without extra cost. The bfast was solid/standard for upscale hostels. The place is right next door to the tram and rail station making it a good starting point for day trips outside of Amsterdam or to head into the city. Unfortunately, my stay here was my worst of my Euro trip because of a nasty bed bug infestation. I was left with rashes all over most of my body, that itch terribly and left my ankle infected, swollen, and oozing. The handling of the situation was most disappointing as I am accustomed to good customer service. The manager of the hotel stated the investigation of my room discovered no bugs and therefore she could not give me a full refund for my stay. However, she did acknowledge that my bites looked stereotypical of bed bugs. Additionally, bed bugs can be difficult to find as they hide in furniture and wood during the day. If not for this incidence, I would recommend the hostel for people looking for a quiet area outside the city from which to explore the city.

The service was good, some of the female staff on reception are not very kind. Despite my second bed had bed bugs the attention received on reception was quick and carefull. Although I understand the type of hosting the hotel provides, for the price and reputation the care on this kind of incidents should be higher as it required personal investment on medicine to prevent issues on my skin due to the bites and its itching. Also for bookings that exceed certain time the breakfast should be a hotel courtesy.

Great hotel for budget travelers. Everything was good except beds. Bedbugs should be exterminated.

Staff was great, it's a modern and clean hostel. But since my stay I'm covered in bed bug bites, itching the hell out of me. Room 837, first bottom bunk bed on the left. Apart from the bed bugs the rooms look clean. Shower and toilet en suite, which I personally don't really like in a dorm since it just causes noise. The guest kitchen is a bit on the small side. Payment of tourist tax on arrival is a bit awkward, just include it in the price online.. Location next to Sloterdijk station is great. 4/5 without the bed bugs. Recommend the chain, just not the Amsterdam City West if there are bed bugs. Would not stay again at that hostel, despite planning on staying a night a week in Amsterdam.

Unser Zimmer war mit Bettwanzen befallen und haben mich auch zerstochen.

Wir hatten Bettwanzen im Zimmer, eine 'Mitbewohnerin' hat am Morgen einen Käfer an die Rezeption gebracht, dann hat es geheissen wir können am Abend das Zimmer wechseln. Als wir am Abend zurück kamen wurden wir sehr unfreundlich behandelt, es hat geheissen, dass man die Bettwanzen gar nie sehen könne. Das Zimmer durften wir dann aber wechseln und als 'Entschädigung' bekamen wir einen Drink an der Bar. Entäuschend! Zu gut aller Letzt wurden in unserm alten Zimmer mit den Bettwanzen einfach neue Leuten untergebracht! Ausserdem waren auch die Bettlaken alles andere als sauber!
