Euphemia Old City Canal Zone

Unfortunately, my stay was not pleasant. Due to poor cleanliness, I left with multiple bites, possibly from fleas or bedbugs. This was very concerning and unacceptable.

Fuimos en temporada de invierno y no servía la calefacción de mi habitación, se escucha todo de las otras habitaciónes. Lo peor fue en la noche cuando quería dormir empecé a sentir picazón y cuando revisamos había Chinches en la cama!!!!!! Mala experiencia en ese hotel

The hotel is not very clean. The corridors have an very bad smell and there is carpet everywhere, a thing that I consider as very unhygienic. In the rooms there was only one light and no warm water at the washbasin. The mattresses in the beds were much used and very uncomfortable. You could feel the individual springs of the mattresses in your back. The bathrooms were also very small and it was super cold there. But at least they were reasonably clean. But this could have been overlooked, as also at the beginning, the personnel was friendly and the location of the hostel is very practical. But after the first night I discovered some insect bites on my arms, hands, legs and face. I hoped it was just a mosquito but on the second morning I could see the bedbugs crawling on the wall next to my bed. I could hardly sleep because I was itching everywhere and I was afraid of more bites. Even now, a week later, these bites still itch extremely. They were swollen and extremely painful. When we showed a picture of the bugs to the owner and asked him about them, he just laughed and said that this would happen. That it was normal in a hostel. He did not offer us any price reduction or at least a free breakfast. It was just a terrible stay and I would not recommend anyone to go to this place for these high prices. After returning home I had to wash all my stuff for fear of bringing home these insects and the whole week this itching. This is not my idea of a relaxed weekend in Amsterdam.

Great service, fantastic location (quiet area but close to tram stops and the center of town), yummy and affordable breakfast, comfy communal space. The linens and room were clean and the beds were comfortable. I'd give a higher rating, but I'm 99% sure that my sister and I had bedbugs. So that was annoying and inconvenient, but otherwise it was a good experience.

My friends and I stayed here for two nights and were badly bitten by bed bugs. Upon our return home we had to take ridiculously measures to insure we did not bring them back with us. It is almost two weeks later and we are still dealing with our bites and checking daily for sign of the bugs. Would not recommend
