The hygiene was the most critical downside. As we arrived to our room, my girlfriend found out that her bed was full of bedbugs and other small insects; so, we had to sleep together in my bed. After a while I woke up as I felt something walking on my neck; then we realised that my bed was completely covered by those bugs too! No need to say that we haven’t slept that night. Apart from the bedbugs, the room was really hot: a fan is surely not enough to refresh the environment. The kitchen area was even hotter, just thinking about it makes me want to have a shower. The last thing is the lack of sockets: I found it hard to charge my phone in the bedroom even with a charger adapter.

La pulizia non era delle migliori, la doccia presentava delle macchie di muffa e la tenda che chiudeva il box era datata e sporca. Consiglio di controllare le posate e piatti prima dell’utilizzo, in quanto gli altri ospiti non li pulivano al meglio. Alcuni ospiti hanno notato nelle loro camere alcune cimici da letto, consiglio di controllare attentamente prima soggiornare.

We had a cockroach in our bathroom, and the other room had bed bugs. I got also bitten. The sheets were unclean. I wrote an email before arriving (asking about the bed bugs) - got no response, at arrival it was said: no worries, it's not in your room. And well, to the guys in that said room it was said they can't do anything about it. So, I still got the bites and found 3 bugs so far. I used to love to come here (it's my second time in that hostel). This time people were also sleeping on the sofa several nights (in the main area).

I heard talk of bed bugs that concerns me. It wasn't in my room tho.

There were bedbugs by my bed. Once I discovered them, I didn't sleep in that bed. It was 11 PM, and the emergency number they provided wasn't being answered. I waited for morning in the common room, getting only fitful sleep. This hostel ruined my entire travel itinerary; it was a huge disappointment

The bed had bedbugs. Also, the wooden beds squeaked every time you turned. The bathroom felt more like a furnace without any vent.

I was disappointed with several aspects of my stay. When I arrived late after traveling, I discovered that the rooms had been switched without any prior notice, while the lockers remained assigned as originally indicated. Although I consider myself flexible, this was frustrating given how late I arrived. There was no air conditioning, and the fan in the room was not working, which made the environment very uncomfortable. The most serious issue, however, was the presence of bed bugs. During the night, I felt bugs crawling on my body, and one even fell on me from the ceiling. When I turned on my flashlight and checked the bed, I saw adult bed bugs. As a result, I was unable to sleep for the rest of the night and ultimately had to leave the hostel. I informed the staff the next morning, but their response did not seem urgent or concerned. I was told they could only clean the bed sheets, and that moving me to another room was not possible because the hostel was fully booked. The only option offered was a refund for the remaining nights, but not for the night already spent even though the bed was clearly infested. When I asked about using bed bug spray or any immediate solution, I was told that this was not part of their protocol and that the room would need to be closed for proper disinfection. I was very dissatisfied with how the situation was handled. Additionally, I had to take extra precautions, including washing all my clothes, to ensure I did not carry bed bugs with me to another hostel. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience, and I cannot recommend staying here.

It wasn’t clean at all there are bed bugs everywhere in each bed of my room. Also I was supposed to be in an only female room , and they put me in a mixed room. And when I go back to them for a explanation about this solution At first they just told me that they will talk to the manager… but didn’t gave me answer I had to go back to the receptionist to ask one more time about my situation, and they told me that they are full booked so they can not do anything for me Notice that I pay more just to be in a only female room I don’t have a refund or something like that The place is infected by bed buds I send a photo but I don’t have the possibility to send video and show you. My whole room had bed bugs and all they did was wash our sheets which didn’t get rid of them. If I was there for 1 night it would’ve been fine but I was there for 4 nights so it’s really just unacceptable. Also my bed didn’t have a power plug but every other bed in my room had one…

The hostel was so dirty There was dust everywhere The beds were so squeaky/nosiy with the smallest bit of movement There was no ac so it was boiling at nighttime and so hard to sleep Where the location is by the road it’s noisy with the cars going past all night long The shower was dirty with towels being placed on each corners of it which meant wet towels…. I also got some rash or bed bugs from this hostel constantly waking up with red dots everywhere on arms and legs that look like bedbugs I had to ask them to clean my bed and change the sheets

Avoid this place. Found bedbugs late at night and nobody answered the emergency line (they apologized later, but still). I had to sleep in the common area. They knew about the bugs weeks ago and did nothing. The bathrooms were also dirty, and I had to fight to get a refund for all my nights

I would not stay here again due to a serious bed bug issue during my stay. I woke up with multiple bites on my face, neck, and body and saw several bugs in the sleeping area. The situation became so uncomfortable that I could not sleep in the bed and spent the night in the living area/sofa instead. The experience caused significant discomfort, stress, and disruption to my trip. While the property did refund the affected night and my remaining nights after I reported the issue, that does not change the fact that I had to deal with the bites and a sleepless night. I am sharing this review so that future guests can make an informed decision and take appropriate precautions. I hope the property addresses the issue thoroughly before hosting more travellers.

Bed bugs!!! And unclean shower, very old pathetic pillow. Had to leave at 10:30pm due to the bed bugs and find somewhere else.

La habitación estaba llena de chinches por todas partes, paredes y caminando por las sábanas, nos acribillaron a picaduras a las que estábamos compartiendo habitación; no pudimos dormir en la habitación, 3 nos fuimos al sofá para intentar descansar. A partir de las 22h no hay personal en recepción y el número de teléfono de emergencia que nos dejaron no contestaba. Nos vimos desamparadas sin ninguna solución: ni policía ni sanidad, me ofrecieron enviarme una ambulancia pero la rechacé, llevaba la tarjeta sanitaria europea pero dudé ya que no sabía a dónde me llevaría y al regresar al día siguiente a España preferí espera a llegar aquí; en el aeropuerto de Malta compré un antihistamínico el cual sirvió de poco. Por la mañana reclamamos y no querian hacernos devolución del dinero, al final nos la hicieron pero a mi eso mo me compensa ya que temí por mi salud al ser alérgica. Me han salido unas ronchas enormes y pupas. El prurito fue descomunal. He intentado subir fotos para que haya constancia de lo sucedido pero en mi teléfono no me aparecen para poderlas subir. Lo inteno nuevamente.

Bed bugs!!! I booked for one night, and after booking saw reviews about bed bugs from a while ago. Hoped they'd sorted it out. I was wrong! Shortly after getting into bed and laying my head on something I'm not quite sure can be called a pillow, I noticed a bed bug crawling about. So that was me up, packing, and making a very last minute reservation elsewhere at 10:30pm. Staff were pleasant and did refund me, not at all seeming surprised by my finding of bed bugs... Bathroom also not particularly clean, and mouldy.

There bed bugs in the beds i couldn't sleep all night it was loterally an infestation everywhere even walking on walls covers and on the bed

A lot of people reported bed bugs in my last night at that hostel. Apparently it's a known problem when you look at old reviews. But neither they've done anything about nor did they do anything about the bed bugs now. Just offered a refund (for only one night) to a girl who had been bitten by the bigs the teo nights in a row. In the end five people spent the night in the common area because nobody wanted to stay in their rooms and the hostel was completely booked. Wouldn't recommend to go there

There are bed bugs! I get bitten every night! I complained to the staff, but they don't seem to have the authority to handle it. After communicating with the landlord, they said the room was full and there was nothing they could do, offering no solutions, no compensation, and they didn't even come to the room with me to check. It seems this isn't the first time this has happened. It's terrifying!

They don't have bed bugs as some have written people who work at the reception are wonderful This was my first stay in a hostel and I was pleasantly surprised very nice experience

This place had bed bugs!! They said they would take care of it. Hopefully !!! When I called the owner about the bedbugs, he said that he cannot offer us a solution of staying elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I had bedbugs! Bed 5A. Be careful. However, the hostel was understanding, apologized for it and returned the payment for remaining days as I moved away after 2 days.

HOSTEL HAS BED BUGS DO NOT STAY HERE. Owner tried to blame it on the travellers but the fact of the matter is if they trained their staff correctly they would have been able to find them instantly. It took me 5 seconds to find out that the bed bugs were hiding in the ceiling. Staff and the manager clearly doesn’t care about other people’s belongings or making sure the hostel is safe from pests. The only “solution” they offered was changing the bedsheets….how is that helpful if they’re living in the ceiling? He also didn’t pay for the cost of my laundry or the last minute hostel i had to get. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Bedbugs bite me all over my body! They did not even want to refund me. I will take legal steps this is not acceptable.

The owner is an ignorant person who doesn't even know how to tell time . The room smells so bad and there are bedbugs everywhere in the room. I advice people to skip this hostel .

the biggest issue is the bed bugs , i stayed for a week and have so many bites , i asked the staff for a bed change and they said they were fully booked (which was a lie) considering 2 beds next to me where completely empty for the remainder of my stay (4 days) everything else about the hostel is great, good bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, socials areas

No pudimos alojarnos en el hostal ya que había chinches… me da pena tener que poner este comentario, porque cuando se lo comentamos en recepción enseguida nos devolvieron el dinero y fueron amables en ese sentido, pero este era un alojamiento que teníamos cogido con mucha antelación, así que el coste de tener que pagar un hotel al momento en pleno sliema fue elevado…

Bed bugs. Covered in bites. Matey below me had major snoring problem sounded like he was connected to the speaker. This I know is not facilities fault but the bedbugs 100% are.

main issue was the bedbug infestation. we found larvae and eggs in the bunk beds — hiding in the small holes in the wooden frames. The staff didn’t seem to believe us, even when we showed him the large number of bites. however, there was a very nice German volunteer who helped us, was open to communication, and quickly worked to find a solution. in general I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a stress-free vacation. Even for a relatively low price, I still expect a clean place

Main issue is the bed bug infestation and the owners not willing to admit there is an issue despite photographic evidence. Rooms are also super hot and almost unbearable even in September

It was my worst day in this hotel. I do not recommend it. They have bed bugs. I left the rooms and stayed in the hall. It is not just me. There are others who left their rooms because of the bed bugs.🤮

Chinches / bedbugs en la cama. Nos picaron y al comentarle lo único que dijeron es que nos podían reintegrar el dinero de las noches que teníamos por delante. Contemplando el gasto de medicina, de lavar toda la ropa, y de moverse y buscar otro alojamiento, no nos tendrían que haber cobrado nada

Não me senti muito confortável , pq algo começou a morder meus braços e mãos não sei oq era se era pernilongo ou percevejos , mas o lugar é muito limpo , então não sei oq era ...

OH MON DIEU ! Fuyez ! Chambre pas fameuse, à rénover ! Pas assez de rangement et les seuls placards disponibles sentaient le renfermer ! Quand nous avons ouvert le robinet, l'eau à commencé à sortir tout d'abord marron, puis jaune et encore c'était par petit jet ! Imaginez ma tête quand j'ai compris que je devais brosser mes dents là dedans ! Il y à également des petits champignons dans la douche, qui à une mauvaise odeur d'humidité et également un problème de préssion, se baigner avec quelque chose qui ressemble à une fuite, c'est compliqué. En guide de tapis de bain, il y avait une serviette au sol, me baigner était un calvaire. Je m'estime à ce jour chanceuse de ne pas avoir chopé une mycose au pied! Pour les jeunes et les grand fêtards, sachez que le voisinage n'est pas commode ! Un soir, vers 11h nous discutions avec des amis (sans crier) une voisine nous à hurlé dessus par la fenêtre, si ce n'était que ça, ca passerait encore mais elle avait son portable a l'oreille et on a très clairement entendu : "ALLO POLICE" ! Une vrai Karen! Au même moment un groupe de filles ont eu des punaises de lit ! Elles avaient pleins de boutons sur le corps ! Si après cet avis vous êtes toujours motivé à y aller! N'hésitez pas! avantage : ascenseur et près de la ville

Nul ! À boycotter !!! Chambres sales, punaises de lit, crevasses dans les murs! Le personnel ne tient pas compte des réclamations et nous fait limite passer pour des menteuses ! Le seul avantage c’est que l’hôtel est bien situé. NE PAS Y ALLER j’étais obligé de mettre une étoile pour pouvoir publié mais sinon j’aurais mis -10

- I stayed here for almost a week, but personally i dont find it worth the price to stay here. There are better places where you have AC rooms + swimming pools at the same price in St. Julians - The owner charges an "additional 10Euro" just for staying in the hostel after checkout (using the bathroom, electricity etc.) Again i stayed here for 6 nights, and i pay for staying in the hostel after checkout. Does this make any sense? Never seen a place like this, lacks the basics of a hostel. - Seems like the owner is just obsessed and crazy over money. just insane.... absurd!! - i found a bedbug on my bed. and ofcourse i was bitten. - the room is waaaaaay too hot to stay in. during the summers. lack of ventilation. There is only 1fan for the whole room, but the cool breeze never reaches the lower bunkbeds. Trust me i woke up every hour sweating of the heat. Never had a proper sleep here. - The bathroom was supposes to be "private" but it is located out of the room. very annoying to open and lock the door everytime i use it. - Plus the bathroom was not maintained well, shower area way too small. Overall it is never ever worth the price; that is almost 200bucks for 6nights. Whomever that has a chance to read this review before booking this hostel, look for another hostel PLEASE ABSOLUTELY UNRECOMMENDABLE!

This place has BED BUGS, stay out of here. I was bitten all over my body and so was my friend and other people we met. The owner does not even respond to my complaints over email, he obviously doesn't care.

WARNING! DO NOT STAY HERE! After six months of travelling, this is the most horrific hostel that I have encountered. I arrived late to find an extremely unclean room with filthy old mattresses. Stray cats were roaming around too. Another girl arrived to the dorm who had moved from the room next door. She was severely bitten by BED BUGS. I immediately called the after hours number and the owner arrived. I was refunded the two nights I had booked, and then was rudely ordered to leave the building after I told other guests about the bed bug problem. The owner said I had a bad attitude and was not welcome. I wouldn't have stayed if you paid me!! Additionally on check in, I was not provided with a key to the external bathroom. If I had stayed, I wouldn't have had access to a shower or toilet until reception opened the next morning. Unacceptable.

Probably one of the worst hostel I have been to to include places in Mumbai. There were bedbugs in my room and I was bitten all over. The room temperature was very hot without a fan strong enough to the room cool. The bathroom was always dirty and not enough cleaning.

staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the kitchen is well equipped. BUT: no water pressure on the 2nd floor in July, so no showering possible. at least 2 rooms have bed bugs!! locker was broken, no window in the bathroom, so it's extremely hot in there. although we complained a lot the owner refused to give us a refund or at least a key to another shower. we were very disappointed.

Well, I did have any issues with bed bugs or anything similar, so can say I had great and peaceful nights sleeping there. The place is super simple and small, comparing with other hostels in Europe. But you have a kind of a nice familiar feeling there, so that you can make fast friendship with everyone. The hostel have everything you need, like Internet, information, a kitchen were you can use everything... and is just one block from the nice Sliema beach! As a backpacker I can say it was a nice place to stay. Thanks guys!
