Hostel Mandarinka

This hostel was absolutely horrendous. The facilities itself are actually ok, but the service was so bad. DO NOT COME HERE. Management seriously needs to consider firing the young male worker, because his one job is customer service, and I’ve seen homeless people being more hospitable than him. He was ridiculously rude to EVERYONE he came into contact to. Absolutely disgusting behavior. I would rate this a 0 if I could. Also there were bed bugs. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else.

Cleanness is okay if considering each room is shared with more than 10 people. I was worried after reading several reviews about bedbugs that seemed to happened 2 weeks before of my stay. It isn’t super clean but acceptable level.

The rooms were okay, but the experience quickly went downhill after we found bed bugs. Despite showing photos and even their receptionist seeing the bugs and taking her own photo to send to the manager, the staff were rude and unhelpful. The manager argued with my friend for over an hour on the phone, accusing us of lying or bringing the bed bugs ourselves, and even went as far as to threaten us with legal action if we left a negative review. Their cleaner only checked the bottom level of the three-tier bunks, claiming she couldn’t find any bugs, despite the clear evidence we provided. They were reluctant to move us to a new room, leaving the bottom bunks without sheets after the inspection. The three-level bunks also seemed unsafe, and my friend ended up rolling her ankle on the way down - ruining her trip as she had to rest and ice it. Other than the bugs, the rooms were fine, but the poor service, lack of accountability, and hostile attitude from management were a major letdown. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Save the unnecessary stress and stay elsewhere

Bed Bugs Alert!!! Don't stay here unless you want to be eaten alive. When we found bed bugs we were accused of having brought them with us (we came from clean houses) and accused of making it up! The manager was extremely rude and argued with us over the phone for 2 hours about it before threatening to take us to court. Other than the critters, the experience was alright. My friend fell out of a 3 story bunk bed and broke her ankle, the cleaning and reception workers were very hostile to communicate with and the music in the common area should be illegal. Do yourself a favour and spend a little more to stay somewhere else.

Hostel Mandarinka? More like Hostel Disaster. There’s no wonder several reviews are disgusted at the de-humanising service. De-humanising doesn’t even begin to describe my experience at this hell hole. Bed bugs, treacherously high bunk beds, bloody bed sheets, vomit splattered on the entrance stairs, abysmal customer service and awful tunes in the common area. This Prague stay is far less than passable. It’s pathetic. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities about this nauseating nightmare.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hostel. We discovered bed bugs in our beds, and when we alerted a staff member, she put it on a piece of paper and left it on the floor. A housekeeping staff member was brought in but only stripped the bottom set of beds and did not conduct a thorough search then carelessly placing the contaminated sheets on the other beds. When we requested a refund and a room change, the manager responded by yelling at us over the phone, refusing to believe our claims (although we have evidence). Despite our request for assistance, he threatened legal action and called the police when I mentioned leaving a negative review. We have photos of the bugs and the staff member who collected one. He then blatantly lied saying the staff member never even saw it. The manager was rude and unaccommodating throughout the ordeal. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone.

Achtung vor Bettewanzen! Leider eine sehr schlechte Erfahrung. Das Personal war sehr unfreundlich. Mehrere Leute wurden von Bettwanzen gebissen! Lage zwar zentral aber sehr versteckt.

My husband stayed there a night with group of his friends and husband getting bit the most all got bitten by bed bugs. Please spend the extra bucks and take a hotel or an air Bnb. We had to throw all his clothes and the suit case in the trash. Be aware before you stay.

The staff and environment are friendly and great, but the room is full of bed bugs from the wall and floor to bed. I cant even sleep on the room. Terrible experience.
