Common Grounds Pai

Unfortunately had to leave because there were bed bugs. Some staff (front desk) were extremely rude and impatient which made the stay uncomfortable at times. Other than that I did meet some amazing people!

Seriously good. Beds are wide. Room was super clean. Location is great. You can socialize in the common area. There were No bed bugs as some people have reported them. It can happen everywhere.

We enjoyed our stay at Common Grounds. Nice medium of sociable and relaxed. Dorms are good with spacious beds and privacy curtains but beds are very uncomfortable. The girl in the bed above me found a bed bug in her bed and I am covered in bites. Rooms can be a little dark. Bathrooms could do with a bit more work, difficult to make showers hot even with pressure reduced. Location is good

Our favourite hostel of our trip so far! Chill atmosphere but still very social. 2 activities a day and had great reps at the time of our stay who made sure we knew about what was on. At the time of our stay there was some bed bugs controversy however we saw staff checking rooms as people left the hostel which made us feel pretty good about it. We never had bed bugs and the hostel was open with us about the situation. Perfect location! A 5 minute walk from spirit bar which was our favourite!

WARNING!!! BEDBUGS EVERYWHERE!!! The four of us all got bed bugs and we were in three different forms/rooms. The staff knows but triest to keep it quiet. They are still letting people in, even know they told us they already knew about the problem and we were not the first. Staff responded very defensive when confronting them with the situation and that they are not closing the hostel and were like 'it is not our fault'. Please watch out.

Er hebben meerdere mensen geklaagd over bed bugs (!!) en we wilden eerder vertrekken. we kregen alleen 80% terug van de nacht die we terug wilden boeken, en daarna lieten ze gewoon nieuwe gasten inchecken, terwijl ze wisten dat in minstens 3 kamers bedbugs zitten. Over een paar dagen zouden ze dicht gaan om te reinigen maar tot die tijd laten ze mensen hier nog slapen om geld te verdienen. vreselijk! rare, liegende mensen hier. jammer, want het leek zo gezellig.

There were bedbugs in my bed. I told the staff and they didn’t really help me at that moment. So I asked by myself if they could clean/steam my clothes. They did!. My roommates told me that the day before the girl also saw bedbugs in her bed and they didn’t clean/steam my bed before I came. If I knew this before I wouldn’t even sleep in this hostel!

Bettwanzen sind ein großes Problem

Great location, nice chill area, ample parking for scooters...but as of March 19 2017, 3 of the dorms are infested with bed bugs. Staff switch mattresses (they're like patio mats with a thin layer of foam above), so it's tough to see signs in the bed, but they're crawling out of the wooden ceiling. We even found old blood smears on the walls with dead bugs in them. It was around 1 am when the bugs were found, and the staff had us sleep on the patio. They said the hostel has had an issue for weeks! Pai has a reputation for bugs, but staff were putting guests in rooms known to be infested. Instead of spending my last morning in Pai scootering to the canyons, I spent it laundering/disinfecting everything I own. Ruined a baseball cap, had to throw away sneakers, tablet case, books, all the stuff I couldn't disinfect with alcohol. The bedding is also terribly uncomfortable, duvets are falling apart, pillows are yellowed and lumpy. There's mildew in the dorm bathrooms, one of the bathrooms past the social area had 2 inches of murky, moldy water. Not worth it even without the bugs! Stay away!!!

Bed bugs

Meh. I got majorly attacked by some sort of bug NOT saying it was bed bugs but if it was mosquitos they are NUTS. Roommate had sex late at night in the room. He had the courtesy to pull the shade over our bunk bed. I check out a day early and they gave me a refund. The staff was pretty dang cool, I will give them that!
