If you like bed bugs and random homeless people coming into your room, then this is the place for you. They don’t have any kind of lock on rooms, so anyone can enter effortlessly, and on top of that, there are no lockers, there are but for a charge, which just adds more cost to the already worst experience. There’s no heating in the washrooms, as well as there’s no proper working shower (for the room to which I was assigned). The maintenance of the property is on thin ice.

Mi experiencia en el Hostel Fontana de Praga fue claramente negativa y difícil de recomendar. El problema principal fue la presencia de chinches en las camas, un detalle grave que condiciona por completo cualquier valoración, ya que afecta directamente a la higiene y al descanso. Descubrirlo durante la estancia genera una sensación de incomodidad constante y hace imposible relajarse tras un día recorriendo la ciudad. Como nota aislada y casi anecdótica dentro de una experiencia poco agradable, el empleado con el que traté fue simpático y educado, intentando ayudar dentro de sus posibilidades. Sin embargo, ese trato correcto no compensa un problema tan serio en las habitaciones. Más allá de este aspecto, el hostel resulta básico y poco acogedor. En conjunto, una estancia decepcionante que no repetiría y que aconsejo evitar si se buscan unas mínimas condiciones de limpieza y tranquilidad.

Ich bin ins Hostel gekommen und schon im Eingangsbereich sowie in den Zimmern liefen Obdachlose und Prostituierte herum. Als ich mein Zimmer betreten habe, hat es sofort extrem gestunken. Beim Blick auf die Matratze habe ich Blutflecken und Krümel entdeckt, was für mich eindeutig auf Bettwanzen hingedeutet hat. In meinem Zimmer lag außerdem ein obdachloser Mann, der dort geschlafen hat. Die Duschen und Toiletten sollte man laut anderen Gästen auf keinen Fall benutzen, da sie zusammengelegt und in einem unhygienischen Zustand sind. Ich habe das Hostel daraufhin sofort verlassen.

Please stay safe and avoid this place at all cost. People smoked cigarettes inside, I've got bites from bedbugs, a man jercking off in the shower, drunk/high people inside, no way to lock in, anyone can come at anytime, people shouting and vomiting outside. And I've stayed only 2h30 at night. I was terrified.

Der Preis ist günstig, dafür bekommt man allerdings Bettwanzen, schlechte Toiletten und in den Fluren Zigarettengeruch. Leider nicht prickelnd.

Starker Verdacht auf Bettwanzen. Raucher auf Toiletten und allgemein schlechte Toilettenlage.

Place it is decent, but you get the value of what you spend. Biggest downside bed bugs. Other than this no issues. It is well connected to public transport and relatively close to castle area on foot.

The worst hostel in the world! There are too many bedbugs in the bed and this hostel has a rude reception. They barely refunded our money in midnight! We were three people and they had an offensive treatment. We will inform the local authorities about the bedbugs!

No lo recomiendo. Uno de nuestro grupo de amigos cogió chinches la última noche y había personas un poco extrañas y malolientes en la habitación. También de noche hay mucho ruido por la ventana que da a un bar y había gente maleducada con música en la cocina a las 4 de la madrugada. Los baños tampoco estaban muy limpios.

Overall decent experience. I did get bit by bed bugs. They spray regularly so I know that they’re trying to get it together but it was rough. They paid for me to get the proper medications and things from the pharmacy. Hopefully they have this issue resolved now because I did have a lovely time outside of this. Bathroom really could use soap though lol

en general malo, pero por dormir bajo un techo esta bien sobre todo porque lo arrende 2 dias antes. pero tiene chinches los baños huelen pesimos. yo soy muy tolerante asi que te puedo decir que la sabanas estaban limpias igual que la almohada pero no quito el hecho de encontrarme com esos bichitos en la pared. no te queded mas de 1 noche ahí no vale la pena.

I’m giving 1 star because i can’t give 0. Do not go to this hostel. When we arrived we realised that there were A LOT OF BED BUGS. We immediately talked to the receptionist and demanded him to give us our money back. After reading old reviews we realized that they have been having this problem since the beginning of this year, and have never taken care of it. It’s BASIC HYGIENE and they are ignoring this issue.

CHINCHES! Al llegar nos dimos cuenta que las camas estaban llenas de chinches y exigimos que nos devolviesen el dinero inmediatamente. Tuvimos que buscar otro alojamiento a las 9 de la noche. No vayáis, sucio y sin higiene básica.

Había chinches por todas partes, llegamos hicimos el check in y a las 2h nos tuvimos que ir. Nos quedamos tirados en Praga a las 9 de la noche sin lugar donde dormir. HORRIBLE

BEDBUGS IN ROOM 3 Overall, a horrible experience. We arrived and the hostel looked absolutely filthy. It took us two hours to find bedbugs, and as soon as we saw the first one, we started to count dozens. Thankfully, they reimbiursed the money, with not so good manners… I would never in a lifetime recommend this nauseous place.

Hemos estado dos horas y nos han tenido que devolver el dinero porque había UNA PLAGA DE CHINCHES en nuestras camas. Nos hemos ido, un lugar muy socio.

Chinches en la cama!! Aguantamos 1h desde que hicimos el chek-in hasta que nos dimos cuenta. Se lo dijimos al recepcionista (le dió completamente igual) y le dijimos que nos devolviese el dinero porque nos íbamos. Menos mal que pagamos en efectivo y nos lo devolvieron al momento. Tuvimos que buscar otro hostal para no pasar la noche en la calle.

I had no issue during my stay. The owner is polite and give you the key to open the door if you go during the night. The only problem was BEDBUGS.

NICHT BUCHEN! BETTWANZEN!!!! Im ganzen Hostel gab es Bettwanzen (sehr viele!!) Alle im Hostel mussten eine Nacht draußen/woanders schlafen, der Besitzer hat uns nur das Geld für die Nächte, die wir nicht dort verbringen konnten, weil wir aufgrund der Bettwanzen fliehen mussten zurückgegeben. Es schien nicht so als hätte der Besitzer ein Interesse daran die Bettwanzen zu entfernen, also auf keinen Fall buchen! Ansonsten ist es dreckig laut aber somit das günstigste was man kriegen kann, dennoch lohnt es sich nicht!!!

TIENE CHINCHES. La peor experiencia de mi vida, una noche me despierto a gritos y cuando salgo a la calle veo que la policía se llevaba a uno de los huéspedes. Parece que todos allí se drogan o van borrachos por no hablar de las instalaciones, casi todo sucio y en fatal estado.

DON’T DO IT! We booked this super far in advance and we didn’t see any reviews of concern at the time. However after our incident, we found reviews after booking that we wish we saw. Long story short. BED BUGS, cash only, old homeless men sharing dorms with young travelers, none of the rooms have locks, the guy running the place was missing from the front desk every time we looked for him, the toilets were incredibly nasty and broken (like popping a squat in the woods would’ve been better).

Zuerst haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt, netter Rezeptionist und nette Zimmernachbarn. Jedoch wurden in der zweiten Nacht Bettwanzen entdeckt. Das in jedem Zimmer und auch sehr viele!! Wir mussten alle die komplette Nacht woanders verbringen. Das Geld haben wir für die Nacht zurückerstattet bekommen aber leider nicht für die Nacht davor wo wir Bettwanzen bekommen haben und auch keine Entschädigung. Der Owner des Hostels war sehr unfreundlich und überhaupt nicht entgegengekommend. Wir haben auch herausgefunden dass vor ein paar Wochen schon eine Rezension über Bettwanzen geschrieben wurde, die nicht beachtet wurde. Ich warne alle euch wenn ihr da hingeht zu checken ob alles wieder hygienisch und sauber ist.

This place was gross. The first room they put us in we noticed bed bugs instantly crawling on the bed and pillow. There was no security, the bathrooms were gross, nothing locked. The rooms stunk, sheets and pillows stunk. Everything was uncomfortable. It was very hot in there. The kitchen was disgusting. The only good thing is the location. Bad experience overall. We roomed with a guy named, cigarette who was incredibly rude and gross! He was yelling on the phone in the room and kept us up.

Bed bugs infestation in almost every bed, also no locks on doors so no security. Don't stay here, only redeeming thing is location. Trams are cheap so just stay further out.

I have been meditating about what should I write here in the last days. I spent 4 nights in this place while I met some good people (other guests). The place is livable but there was bedbugs in my room (I killed 4 in one night) and I got around 20 bites from these animals. Still after 2 days of leaving this place I am itchy everywhere. There was a bar close to the window of my room, so there was people screaming and laughing all night, until 3am or more. The beds are not comfortable and they make a lot of noise when someone moves. The place doesnt stay clean for long time. The shower cloggs very easily. I would really like to come here in the future and see improvements, because it has potential to be a cute and alternative hostel if the owners put some energy in this way.

The bare minimum. It really genuinely is just a place to put a roof over your head. I did end up getting Bed bugs. So I am reluctant on giving a good review on this place, but then again, staff was friendly, location is pretty good and it was INSANELY cheap. For 1 or two nights, its fine but no more. If you're a woman (like many reviews) I would not suggest coming alone. There is NO ventilation whatsoever, so the rooms were like saunas thus the bed bug infestation. and theres a bar downstairs so it is pretty loud until quite late at night.

NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE !!! It was the most pathetic place I ever visited. We booked for 3 nights, and after experiencing this place, we immediately changed the plan and stayed there 1 night only. Instead of this place, you can go to POST 120 HOTEL, which is far better than this. Fontana beds are pathetic. Untidy bed sheets and pillows with bed bugs crawling everywhere. Toilets are dirty and smell like hell. You will waste your time and money at this place. Trust me, you will curse yourself for the whole life if you made a decision to visit this place. I saw people who were like beggers. Do not trust the pictures they posted because the place is not like what you see in their advertisements. I am posting the real pictures.

Bed bugs!! Owner was aware of the problem but still rented room. Did not get proper refund either.
