Hostal Vista Verde Minca

Attention bed bugs!! There was a huge bedbug infestation in the dorm and we have bites all over our bodies that itch like hell. Then we tried to talk with the hostel owners. Instead of being sympathetic and accommodating, nothing came of it at first, then they wanted to refund us 20%. After a discussion, we were reimbursed for the overnight stay. However, breakfast, which is actually included, was charged on top. Then we informed the other guests we met at the hostel about this. They also noticed bites on their own bodies. However, we were then asked directly by the hostel owners to leave the property. We wrote a review directly on Hostelworld in the evening. The upshot is that the hostel owners have now canceled our booking after the fact (!), probably in an attempt to ensure that our review would no longer be visible. Fortunately, it still is. Our friends who had the same experience were also canceled after the fact and could no longer write a review. Bed bugs can happen and if we had been met with understanding and sincerity, it would have been half as bad. But such behavior is simply highly unprofessional! Furthermore, no drinking water is provided and you are not allowed to use the kitchen. Instead, you can buy expensive water and dinner from them. The location and view are nice, but that's it. Absolutely no recommendation!
