Waikiki Beachside Hostel

Ew! This place used to have character. Looks like a piss poor excuse for a motel 8 that happens to have a great location that they charge for. Pretending to be an actual hostel with hotel rates. Inside info.. check for bed bugs. Owners have definitely stripped away charm, upped prices without actually upgrading. Prepare to get the fake Aloha

Nice place. It can be noisy from the street but it gets quiet around 10pm. Thankfully I had 7 good room mates during my 9 days in the room I used. The room can be dirty as housekeeping doesn't clean the fan blades which does make it worse. Few ants in the bathroom and kitchen counter but not that big of a deal. The hookers outside the hostel (and others on the street) made it interesting to see them try to pick people up. Staff was very nice and my biggest relief was there was no bed bugs. I've done extensive research on different review sites over the past few years and I saw no complaints of bed bugs. Although you need a US quarter to open the lockers every time the rooms are safe enough to leave your items (provided you trust your room mates).

Fantastic Hostel. Loud at night, but I would consider this more of a party/college crowd place. I slept through it since you get what you pay for! Fantastic service. Loved staying here. Sometimes extended the curfew. Has an onsite little kitchen with a guy who will cook breakfast. Moped rentals attached to the facility. super safe parking built inside the building. Washers were generally busy so make sure you get your laundry done quick. Common area is very nice and the whole place is covered in great artwork. The room was nice, No bed bugs found. An attendant cleaned every two or three days. Like every hostel, wish there were larger lockers. Lockers were approximately bowling alley sized.
