On my second day in Cartagena, I became ill and stayed in bed all day. During that time, cats freely entered my room through the balcony and walked around the room and on the bed. This is completely unacceptable from a hygiene perspective. The next morning I developed red marks and bites on my legs, arms and stomach. I cannot say for sure whether these were caused by fleas or bedbugs, but I had spent the entire previous day in bed, which clearly points to a serious hygiene issue. On top of that, the noise was unbearable day and night. There is a nightclub directly below the property, with constant street noise, party buses, and party boats passing by. Proper rest was impossible. Please be very careful before booking this place.

Je pense très sincèrement qu'il y a des punaises de lit dans cet hostel. J'ai vu des tâches noires sur les coutures de mon matelas avec des petites crottes noires. Ça, pour moi, ce sont les fameuses tâches noires que laissent les punaises de lit (ce sont leurs excréments) qui sont très souvent sur les coutures des matelas... Je suis allée voir les gens de l'hôtel. L'inspection était très très rapide. La personne a seulement regardé la tâche et m'a dit que c'était de la moisissure, sans même regarder davantage le matelas ou les autres matelas du dortoir. A mon avis c'est impossible d'avoir de la moisissure seulement à cet endroit du matelas, ni même que ça ressemble à ça. De plus, il est impossible de dire si rapidement que ça en est pas. Soit ils sont très mal renseigné sur le sujet, soit ils s'en foutent. Je ne suis pas la seule à le dire, allez voir les autres commentaires. Un commentaire montre des photos qui ressemblent à la mienne mais avec en plus des punaises mortes. (Je suis venue en mi-juillet 2025)

Claro que si me aloje en ese sitio llamado "hotel" u hostal, y todo lo que digo es cierto, filtren desde la puntuación mas baja, y se dan cuenta que el comentario en común son los chinches, el moho, el ruido y la mala atención, me cobraron la habitación privada como un hotel de 3 o 4 estrellas, cuando ni hubo luz ni agua el 80% de la estadía, menos mal solo fue una noche, estabamos que saliamos corriendo. Lo peor es que se creen que tienen el mejor hotel del mundo porque no aceptan los comentarios, y lo peor salen es diciendo que uno no se alojo, que sentido tiene ponerme a escribir de un lugar al que no he ido? por favor... lo hago para que la demas gente analice si eso es lo que quiere para su estadía.

I got infested with bed bugs during my stay here. After informing reception, the guy asked me to send the pictures to him and he’d get back to me. He never did. The bites got infected and I needed to go to a clinic, where they confirmed they were bed bugs and gave me a treatment, fully paid out of my pocket. The doctor asked me to contact the Ministry of health and they confirmed that this place has had demands of bed bugs for over 3 months without solving anything. They did not offer a reimbursement neither to pay the cost of treatment which is crazily impolite, I’ve been waiting for a week before putting this review. NO VAYAN!!! están infestados de chinches desde hace más de 3 meses y no resuelven absolutamente nada. Tienen demandas de sanidad en Cartagena y aún así actúan como si los huéspedes se lo estuviesen inventando

On est tombé sur la pire chambre (j’espère). Moisissures, pas d’aération, salle de bain trop étroite. Ça vieilli mal et la chambre du fond ne devrait plus être proposée, même nos habits sentaient l’humidité. Certains commentaires parlent de punaises de lit, ça ne m’étonnerait pas.

Hay chinches en la habitación que me tocó al menos. Que yo viera, vi chinches vivas en dos de las camas, en el resto de los colchones vi manchas de que habia habido allí chinches, pero probablemente sigan en todas las camas. Sinceramente entiendo que es un hostal y son cosas que pueden pasar, pero la primera noche se lo dije al chico de recepción y aunque amable, no se disculpó ni me ofreció solución, fui yo quien dijo que se cambiaba de cama en ese caso y me dijo que vale. Ya al día siguiente al mirar mas a fondo y descubrir también en la otra cama decidí marcharme. Al explicarselo en recepción a quienes había allí, uno de ellos tuvo una actitud chulesca y confrontativa, como si me lo estuviera inventando. Una vez le enseñé las chinches, no hubo disculpa si no reproche de que claro, si venimos de otras zonas de Colombia pues traemos chinches, como si fuera también mi culpa como viajero. Me devolvieron el dinero y me fui. Da la sensación de que llevan con el problema un tiempo (pues hay reseñas en google maps) y que en lugar de solucionarlo deciden ocultarlo.

Al igual que se puede leer en otra reseñas, había chinches en por lo menos dos camas de la habitación compartida. Cuando llegué me fijé gracias a leer las reseñas de google maps y efectivamente no habian solucionado el problema, todos los colchones seguían teniendo manchas de chinches y nadie me avisó de nada. Llegué por la noche y vi una en mi cama y al avisar a recepción no me dieron ninguna solución, por lo que yo mismo ofrecí cambiarme de cama y dijeron que bueno que estaba bien. Al día siguiente revisé todos los colchones y en el que dormí encontré una chinche viva. Quien en ese momento atendía en recepción tuvo una actitud chula y de confrontación, y al enseñarle donde se encontraban las chinches no tuvo mas remedio que aceptarlo, echando aun asi las culpas a los huespedes que vienen de otros sitios y las dejan, sin pedir disculpas en ningun momento. Me devolvieron el dinero y me fui a otro hostal. Es una lástima porque el hostal es muy bonito y el desayuno está muy bueno, deberian solucionar el problema en vez de hacer como si no existiera.

Its a very beautiful hostel and the breakfast is pretty good. BUT I had bedbugs.... Not only in my bed they were of course in every bed in the room. Im so happy that another person told me that bc the guys from the hostel didnt tell me :/. I changed the room and there were mold everywhere. Check your mattresses !

Bedbugs, all beds in the dorm! Black spots, visible bedbugs in the mattress, please check all the mattresses. They said they did not know it was there, offered us another bed. The size of the bed bugs is clearly after they switch skin, this happens after 3 months of living! No thank you, bed bugs in one room means bed bugs in all rooms! They did not inform other residents of bed bugs not even those staying in the same room. After we insisted, they gave us a full refund. The reception was friendly I guess, but I think they lied and said they did not have cash and had to wait for tomorrow. We asked for a paper receipt as proof of the refund. We got it. Came back the next day, there they had money, so why not give us immediately? Please always check the beds before carrying your luggage to the room!

WARNING THIS PLACE HAS BED BUGS! Which was disappointing as we really enjoyed our stay here - one of the best free breakfasts I’ve ever had! And fun social vibe but not too over the top. Super close the main plaza which is surrounded by great bars and cocktail street! Unfortunately on the second night of our stay we found bed bugs in the bed and the curtains of our bunks, we notified the staff and told them but after we left reception we turned around and they were all laughing. Such a shame!

The staff know that there are bed bugs, but all they did was wash the sheets and remake the bed. Guaranteed the next person in that bed gets it. They reluctantly paid for my antibiotic cream. When we lifted the mattress up it was filthy.

The hostel was gorgeous and the breakfast was great and communal areas were lovely. However, during our stay we realised we had bed bugs and the issue was dealt with terribly by the reception staff. Their best offer was to refund our last 2 nights there and leave us with no accommodation, or charge us the last 2 nights and put us up in another hostel for 1 night still leaving us without accommodation for one. We had to push for them to do our laundry as we had already found eggs on our clothes.
