Waikiki Heritage Hotel

30-something couple visiting in Jan 2025 - Waikiki Heritage Hotel is a clean, basic, affordable spot in an excellent location a 5-minute walk from the beach. We chose a pool view room after hearing it can be noisy at night - I don't recommend this hotel for light sleepers as our walls had built-in shades that let sound in (bring earplugs!). I see negative reviews from those who booked with third party services - always book directly with the hotel and avoid middlemen for best prices and fewer headaches. Don't expect luxury - do expect an older, bedbug-free place to stay at a good price in a prime location.

This place was better than expected! I stayed in room 119 and it was overall clean and definitely free from bedbugs. The one complaint I had was dealt with very quickly by staff, and they were all friendly and helpful. The best part about this place is the LOCATION! It’s amazing, walkable to almost everything in Waikiki. I’d return here or recommend it.

Hey everyone, I want to share my experience I had this past weekend with my family. When we checked in, the room was nothing like what was shown in the photos. The rooms were invested with bugs. 5 of my family members got bed bugs which we were all in different rooms. I was so upset. The rooms smell dusty. The showers had mold and to told it off the rooms weren't even properly cleaned. Once, we would ask for extra towels or toilet paper the staff would be very rude and upset. We asked for extra pillows the only had 2 extra pillows when we had 3 rooms. If you lose key, they will charge you 150 and they will charge you 50 to opened it. Once we checked out, we had no access to restroom so we asked the front desk and one of the staff was screaming to my aunt who doesn't speak English. RUDE STAFF, DON'T GIVE THEM BUSINESS!!

Just finished a week's stay at the Pagoda Waikiki. I will disclose the good the bad and the ugly of this place. First let's discuss the bad. It's dated, old and in need of some love. The overall appearance is nice, it's borderline kitschy, but could use some upgrades. The parking is not ideal, and the front desk is not very helpful giving you nearby options. We tried to reserve two spots for the week we were there, yet was told all their spots were reserved, but I never saw all spots used every day for the duration we were there. We ended up parking across the street at the Hale Koa Hotel Parking lot. With no help from the front desk and doing our own research this was the best option if you're staying there a week or more. Parking here and buying a monthly pass for $220, it gives you unlimited access to parking lot or the garage for up to 30 days. It would have cost us the same amount to park at the Pagoda. The entrance is at 2141 Kalia Road, you need to go the the parking garage located at 2004 Kalia Road to buy a pass. Take your ID, Vehicle/Hotel Information and credit card to purchase. Some garages/lots are $60-$80 a night nearby, so be careful were you park. Let's talk rooms, we were a party of 8 individuals, we had 4 rooms in the Saratoga Building on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The AC in our rooms worked, but not well. When discussed with the front desk, was told there wasn't much they could do. It wasn't horrible, they're just old units and are not running as efficient as they used to be. The rooms were simple, but dated as well. There's a reason this is still a 2 star hotel. We checked for bedbugs/insects/overall cleanliness and were very pleased to not find, or see any during our stay. Beds were comfortable, and linens were clean. The bathroom was a bit scary, but considering the age, it was ok. Towel racks and shelfs could use a handyman's touch. We didn't use the kitchen, but it did have enough supplies to cook with if you so desired. Did not have enough glassware is my complaint about the kitchen. Drank my soda in a coffee mug. We didn't swim in the pool, but it was enjoyed by other guests while we were there. The courtyard is ok, we sat out there some nights enjoying shaved ice or cool beverages. Now let's talk about the good. Location, location, location. You can't beat the location. Easy walks to the beach, shopping and restaurants. That was one thing we loved about this Hotel. Even though we had a car, we walked to a lot of places to eat and shop. ABC store right across the street and yummy restaurants 5 min walk or less nearby. The BEST shaved ice in the city is across the street at Lahaina Shave ice, spent too much money there for the week, and will be burning off those calories even after I get back to the mainland. Overall this is a nice place to stay, would I stay there again? Probably not, unless they made some nicer upgrades, had better amenities. I'm giving it 2 stars, it definitely wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed at, but it definitely earned it's rating as a 2. Basically the old adage is true, you get what you pay for.

The hotel is quite dated. They do charge extra for most everything. My issue here was bed bugs. They refunded the “resort fee” and gave a late checkout after already charging for an early check in. They can’t store luggage. Spend a couple more bucks for a better spot and some piece of mind.

BEDBUGS!! I had an awful experience with bed bugs at this hotel. I was bitten from my head to toes by bed bugs when I stayed there. It is in a great location if you want to chance it! My stay was Jan 2022.
