Hotel Padmam

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days. I had already paid an advance, and the remaining amount was paid upon arrival. Based on my experience, I strongly suggest not paying the full amount in advance—settle the balance only at checkout. We booked a family suite on the 5th floor, which seemed to be the only relatively new room in the hotel. It had two bedrooms with attached toilets and a living area. Although the room was neat, the AC was not working. Despite repeated complaints, it was not repaired during our entire 2-day stay, which made it extremely uncomfortable, especially in the summer. The room rent was ₹5500 per night. The hotel offered us an alternative room, but it was very old and had bed bug issues, which caused allergic reactions. We stayed there only for one night. For the second night, all 5 of us had to adjust in one room of the family suite to avoid further bites. We were so concerned about the bed bugs that we didn’t even ask for an extra bed. After multiple complaints, they initially offered a refund of ₹2000, which was not reasonable considering we paid ₹11,000 in total. Eventually, they agreed to give ₹3000, which still felt inadequate. Also, if they agree to a refund, make sure you receive it before checking out. Once you leave, there is a high chance they may delay or not send the money. While we were raising our complaint, another family also reported the same bed bug issue. Overall, a very disappointing experience. In response to the management’s reply: The alternate room provided was not suitable for us. Before arrival, all room options were shared via WhatsApp, and we specifically chose the family suite. An advance was paid to reserve this room, not a double room. We also paid the full amount for a two-night stay at the time of check-in, which in hindsight was a mistake. Guests should ideally settle the remaining amount at checkout. We had no option to check out after the first night, as we were repeatedly assured that the AC in the family suite would be repaired the next day. I even followed up with the staff during our outing to confirm the same. Due to the situation, two of us had to stay in the double room for one night, which caused allergic issues. Because of this, we did not wish to continue there for the second night (this can be verified through CCTV if required). However, only after returning from our outing that night were we informed that the AC had still not been fixed. We were left with no proper alternative. Five of us then had to stay together in one room in the family suite. This was not ‘free of cost’ as claimed. We paid a total of ₹11,000 for the suite, out of which only ₹3,000 was refunded. Effectively, we paid ₹8,000 for a compromised stay, including one night in a room with bed bug issues.
