BED BUG INFESTATION! Do not stay here, they are infested with bed bugs and will lie about it. My partner is absolutely covered in bites, and it is costing us so much money to try and get rid of them. When we asked about whether they have bed bugs, after noticing bites, they lied and said they have never had a problem. However, from reading reviews from a couple of weeks before we arrived, several people reported them. Also, we subsequently realised they have closed dorm rooms down and removed all mattresses. The staff accused us of bringing them with us from the flight we took to San Pedro and were so rude and hostile towards us. They will lie about having them, so be warned as it is a very awful experience to go through!

It's a really nice setup. Bunks have curtains, the kitchen has plentiful appliances and is fairly spacious for storing food. The pool is cleaned thoroughly everyday. They provide evening meals for quite cheap. A number of chill out spots such as hammocks, outdoor tables, and sundecks. I would have scored a little higher though unfortunately in the last couple of days there was a bed bug outbreak which I know the staff are handling and taking seriously.

I have rated everything low to make sure others can be warned about the beg bug issue. The private room had a severe infestation of bed bugs. I was covered in bites. When we initially spoke to staff they said that they had never had an issue. The next day when the bites had fully come out we spoke to staff again who said we must have brought them as they fumigated the room the day before we arrived. explained we couldn’t have and they then blamed the plane. Clearly they are not taking action

The hostel has a severe bed bug infestation. My partner has several dozen bites after sleeping in one of the 8-bed dorms. After showing photos of the bites and evidence of bed bugs in the bed, the manager tried to blame us for bringing the bugs. Given the sheer number of bed bugs this is impossible and this gaslighting attitude shows that Casa Voyage is not taking the necessary actions to solve the issue. Do not stay here until they prove that they have professionally fumigated the hostel.

It’s not about the bedbugs. I wouldn’t leave a bad review about a place just because it has a pretty bad bedbug infestation. That’s just a part of backpacking and a risk of hostels at all times. I’m taking the time to write a review because the owner lied about having bedbugs, so not to miss out on a one nights rent. When I checked in I was told that I would have to move out the next morning for fumigation. When I asked if that was because the room had bedbugs, I was told it was prescheduled preventative

The staff were great - they were really helpful with making bookings for tours and organising social events to meet other travellers. However - I have bites all over my ankles after staying with there, and I dont know whether theyrethey're bed bugs or fleas. They have a dog and a cat at the hostel so I'm guessing fleas, but either way a really bad dampener on what was otherwise a good stay.

Las cenas nocturnas marcan el tono aqui: el hostel tiene un ritmo compartido y social que hace facil conocer otros viajeros sin forzar una escena de fiesta. Las zonas comunes estan hechas para pasar el rato, con hamacas, mesas exteriores, terrazas para tomar sol, juegos, piscina y una cocina util para viajes largos por el desierto. Las habitaciones suelen ser comodas, y algunas pueden tener cortinas para sumar privacidad. El staff es una parte fuerte del lugar: puede ayudar con tours por Atacama y Uyuni, dar sugerencias locales y mantener un ambiente calido y relajado. La limpieza aparece como fortaleza recurrente, y la propiedad tiene caracter propio en vez de vibra de hostel generico. La ubicacion queda a una caminata corta del centro, asi que le calza a viajeros a quienes no les molesta estar un poco fuera de la avenida principal. Funciona bien para solos, grupos pequenos o cualquiera que quiera una base social con comidas, opciones de actividades y un lugar calmado al que volver despues del desierto.
Señales a revisar
- Los banos estan fuera de las habitaciones, asi que las mananas frias del desierto pueden significar una caminata helada.
- El pago puede ser incomodo porque los impuestos y el manejo del tipo de cambio pueden subir el total sobre el precio publicado.
- Ha habido problemas serios de chinches en habitaciones aqui, asi que conviene revisar con cuidado al llegar.
