Ozen Freediving Hostel

Siargao is home of some of the kindest people I’ve interacted with. Ozen on the contrary is staffed by the most repulsive people I’ve met. From the blatant disregard from those at the reception to the rudeness and emotional deregulation of the freediving instructor, it seems like everyone around here hate their lives and are only doing it for the money. Our room was directly below the staff house. Every night we had to ask the staff upstairs (sometimes several times) to stop banging around as we were woken up when our whole room would shake. We barely slept during our stay. Staff would also sit right outside our room playing videos and the walls are paper thin. Bathroom isn’t great and the facilities hardly work. Communal area taken up by staff so nowhere to chill and no atmosphere at all. Staff did resolve our issue about the tap not working...

We were supposed to spend 5 nights at this hostel but left after one night, when we found out that a girl and a guy in our dorm found bed bugs all over their beds the day before!! The hostel staff didn’t tell anyone in our dorm (so we could move our bags, make alternate arrangements etc) or deal with the issue promptly. It seemed like they were trying to keep it a secret from the guests. They also waited until the next day to strip the beds or do any cleaning in the dorm. Very disappointing ;(

I chose this place because of its high rating, but it didn’t meet my expectations. I’m not sure if it was the time I stayed but it was very unsocial, with no common area to hang out in. Didn’t feel very welcome by some staff members and ultimately left early to find somewhere else. I did enjoy the freedive intro course which was fun.

Gute Einrichtung, schöne Duschen - leider fehlen Safes - sodass in der letzten Nacht sogar eingebrochen wurde und von einer Mitbewohnerin Geld geklaut wurde! Sicherheit fehlt hier leider komplett :( Ansonsten fehlt unter Tag ein Ansprechpartner der immer da ist

Really enjoyed my stay & the new staff member who'd just started was the best but there were some issues: - like spotting a big rat with scabies snooping around the kitchen - somebody else from the dorm blocked the toilet and left beard shavings all over the sink and nobody came to clean it even tho they were cleaning the dorms - the family (I assume) who owns it, take over the kitchen which is the only real common area that you can chill at and I felt like I was imposing if I tried to sit

Not a very social hostel but great for a couple nights stay if you’re travelling with a partner or friend and looking for more budget options.

Great place to stay in Siargao! The vibe is super chill, I felt comfortable from the minute I walked in. The staff is super friendly and helpful and you should definitely go freediving with Jen she's an amazing Instructor, I learned so much from her. The location is great, there are lots of restaurants and cafes around.

I love Ozen! Easily one of my favorite hostels on the island. Comfy beds, always clean, and the staff are super helpful and kind. I really like that there are two toilets and showers in the dorm — plus an extra one outside which is super handy. Everything just feels easy and chill. Felt right at home and I’ll definitely be back!

A really great vibe

Staff are so warm and welcoming. Accommodation was very clean and much more comfortable than other hostels. Highly recommend!

The bed is very comfortable, the receptionist is always smiling and welcoming 😇 and there are hammocks to relax in, as well as a kitchen to prepare your own meals. However, the only downside is the soundproofing—you can hear the matches and parties next to the hostel, so make sure to bring earplugs.

Stayed here during no electricity on the island for 2weeks, they made good effort to make us comfortable. They get us big bucket of water and generator. Thanks guys for your effort ! Love the island back to basic style! Hopefully i get to visit siargao and see you again! Best staff! 🌺

Jen and the crew at Ozen are the warmest and best people! I loved the stay and facilities

The hostel is awesome! We were scared first about sleeping in a 10 bed dorm but the room is so big and spacious that it wasnt a problem at all - everyone was super respectful and the vibes are very chill! Would definitely recommend it! The only thing I do not recommend is taking surfing lessons directly from the hostel - i was not happy with the teacher and think for the same price you can get way better lessons somewhere else

It was a great experience, loved my stay in the dorm, went surfing with the staff, everything was clean and the vibe was perfect.

Awesome people, great vibes and some amazing memories made. Can definitely recommend giving Ozen a shot. Looking forward to coming back at some point 🫶

If you love free diving, this is the perfect place for you. If you’re not into free diving, it’s still the perfect place for you! Ozone Free Diving Hostel is clean, orderly, and impeccably managed by a passionate team of nature and island lovers. The atmosphere here is warm and welcoming, making it easy to connect with like-minded travelers and locals alike. We spent 3 nights there and we enjoyed every moment!! See you soon guys!!!!
