RIDDLED WITH BEG BUGS. GUY BENEATH ME GOT MOVED CAUSE OF THE BUGS. I ONLY FOUND OUT MY LAST DAY. THEN I MOVED ROOMS AND THAT ONE HAD BED BUGS ASWELL. I HAD TO LEAVE EARLIER AS I WAS GETTING EATEN ALIVE. I MESSAGED THEM ABOUT THIS AND GOT IGNORED.

I picked up a rash from the blanket that was supplied. I think that it was bed bugs of some sort (on the blanket). The itchy rash is still with me, even though one month has passed.

위치는 정말 좋습니다 3/10~3.30 묵었구요 근데 베드버그에 물려서 죽는 줄 알았어요 3.15부터 간지러운 증상 발현 되더니 3.17에 방 옮기고 상태가 악화 되었습니다 근데 매니저라는 사람은 매트리스를 들었을 때 베드버그가 보이지 않는다며 환불해 줄 수 없다고 했고 저보고 오히려 모기 물린 거 아니냐, 니가 다른데서 물려온 거 가지고 뭐라고 하는 거 아니냐며 소비자 기만까지 했습니다 제가 밖에서 물려온 거라면 숙소에 들어오기 전부터 그랬어야지 왜 숙소에 묵은 뒤부터 갑자기 그랬을까요? 환불 요청하니 메일 다 무시해서 NSW Fair Trading에 신고했습니다 처음에 전액 환불 요청했고, 받아들일 수 없다면 3월 17일에 방 옮긴 후부터의 금액 부분환불 요청했지만 이또한 다 무시했습니다 리뷰같은 거 귀찮아서 안 쓰는데 이건 정말 참을 수가 없네요. 이걸 보고도 모기에 물린 거 아니냐고 하다니 좀 너무하신 거 아닌가요? 저는 이 증상 발현 전에 공원, 해변가 등 방문하지도 않았구요 더는 아무도 피해가 없길 바랍니다 The location was really good. I stayed from 3/10 to 3/30, but I thought I was going to die because of the bed bugs. From 3/15, I started feeling itchy, and by 3/17, after moving rooms, the condition worsened. However, the person who claimed to be the manager said that the bed bugs couldn’t be seen when he lifted the mattress and therefore refused to refund me. He even asked if I was bitten by mosquitoes instead, and accused me of bringing the bites from somewhere else, deceiving the customer. If it was a bite from somewhere else, it should have been before I entered the accommodation, right? Why did the symptoms appear only after I started staying at the accommodation? When I requested a refund, all my emails were ignored, so I reported it to NSW Fair Trading. Initially, I requested a full refund, and when that was not accepted, I asked for a partial refund from the amount from the date I moved rooms (3/17), but that too was ignored. I usually don’t write reviews because I find them tedious, but this situation is just unbearable. Why can’t I attach photos to the Agoda review? I would like to attach pictures of my skin condition as well. To still ask if I was bitten by mosquitoes after all of this is just too much. Before the symptoms appeared, I hadn’t visited any parks, beaches, or places where mosquitoes would be common. I hope no one else suffers from this in the future. It’s incredibly frustrating to experience this level of negligence and dismissal from management. Not only did I suffer physically and emotionally, but my attempts to resolve the situation were completely ignored. The refusal to take responsibility for the bed bug infestation and the accusations made against me were deeply disrespectful and unprofessional. I believe it's important for others to be aware of this issue to avoid experiencing the same distress I went through.

I would rate it 2,5 out of 5 stars simply because the touch the YHA has now is by no means comparable to the good times about 10 years ago. The prices in the first place are outrageous, this hostel is not worth the 80-120 $ a night it sometimes displays (not even to mention the Christmas and NYE periods). The rooms are spacious enough and the private powet outlets in the closet are great. However I got a lot of bites on my legs from sleeping in the bed, making me feel that the matrass or sheets have bed bugs. Kitchen is not so clean. But most of all, it's a shame that they changed the entire concept of a hostel. People barely talk to each other in the communal areas and they changed their focus of older people and digital nomads, while Australia is still the backpacking country in the world for 18-30 year olds. YHA was in the past the clean and safe hostel, but now it's just a 0* motel. Adjust the prices to the normal ones pre-Covid and re-introduce the old hostellifestyle, that's what they should do.

This place is the worse place I’ve ever stayed at. It is not clean, I have pubic hair on my bed, my friends had a toenail on it and so on. At the end of our trip we were getting ready to go and one of us found a bed bug, so I do NOT recommend this place for anyone. This please needs a deep clean and maybe even BURNED.

Great location. Possibly the cheapest location for a stay in Sydney. The building felt safe. No problems with theft. There were many bedbugs. Horrible, but it’s what you get for the price. Sheets were stained with blood and other strange stain. Loud music was heard from other rooms during late night.

Absolutely disgusting. Came here with my school for a trip a while back, and the dorm was detrimental. The mattresses had period stains, the power outlet didn’t work, there were bed bugs too. The bathroom seems unhygienic from the lack of care it has. I really hope there are drastic improvements now because this is not okay.
