Edinburgh House Hotel

The beds weren’t great. Mine was rock hard with springs poking me everywhere. The carpet was filthy. Indifferent cleaning: beds were changed on the 5th day of our stay, the mirror by the door was smeared when we got there and stayed that way, the trash can had drips on it that never got cleaned. Loud: people came to the patio just outside our window at all hours to talk and smoke, which drifted into the room whether the window was open or not. The lobby area was just outside our door and also loud. There was only one key so if some in our group needed it to head back early we had to plan to make sure they had the key, or meet up again if we were separated. No chain or secondary lock on the inside of the door. It felt insecure. Definitely not a three star hotel as advertised.

I ended up staying elsewhere after reviews of bedbugs. They weren’t able to refund me which is fair and worth not getting bedbugs

As seen in the photos below, I’m not sure I have to add much detail about the state of the room we had for 2 nights. This hotel needs to be inspected by health and safety and trading standards. Not only was the mark up of the room nearly 10X the normal amount due to the oasis concert we went to, it was filthy and unsafe. The black mould in the bathroom made me feel genuinely unwell for a few days after and I’m pretty sure I caught bed bugs from the mattress we slept on. In addition to this, the manager said we’d hear back later on the day we checked out about an incident regarding a complete stranger having access to our room, and they couldn’t tell us who it was and they confirmed it wasn’t housekeeping. The staff then proceeded to try and say it was me they saw enter the room, when 1) we weren’t even at the hotel the time it happened and 2) I do not have black hair which was left all over the bathroom wall, I am blonde. However, I am quite impressed about the whole ecosystem growing behind the sink in the bathroom we had. I didn’t know it was possible for a sink to be so dirty. One of a kind experience

An absolute SCAM, on the booking.com it says you can check in until 00:00 in the morning, we reached there 11:47 and I have proof of video. They charged us £10 more despite paying £89.99 for one night!!! Under the name of "CHECKING IN LATE". Despite everything else that place is dirty and full of bed bugs, my self and my partner have got bed bug bites from them and it is absolute torture the pain the itch the bumps, I will attach a photo of my legs it is a disaster. I will never ever recommend it for anyone. Even my worst enemy should not stay in such a place and for that PRICE!!!

Be careful! There are bedbugs in the hotel! My son and I were bitten on the first night, we are allergic. It's a shame we chose this place.

No stars for this hotel !! My work partner and myself have been bitten to pieces by bed bugs . When complaining the receptionist shrugged shoulders . Dirty , rotten

Worst hotel ever! . More or a drug den and drunks. No sleep noise all night coming from paper thin ceiling. Stunk of weed . Complained about noise and the noise got louder. IF YOU WANT TO GET DRUNK AND HIGH WITHOUT SLEEP THIS IS THE PLACE! ... IF YOU WANT A HOTEL DON'T STAY HERE.!!!!!! To add to this tv didn't work . No phone signal. No WiFi even £3 WiFi didn't work. Bed sheets smell of fags and sweat oh and I got bit all over must be bed bugs!!!!!! If I wanted to die I would probably book a room here . On the plus side free parking . . . . . Oh that's it .

So many things wrong with this place so here's a few, the rooms have bed bugs, there was blood on the walls of the room, WiFi is not free, TV doesn't work, the WiFi is not free and to top it off the bathroom isn't in the room! In fact its not even on the same floor.. So thats bed bugs, no free WiFi as they say, and you have to go on a trek to poop
