Bunk Inn Hostel

In den Betten waren Bettwanzen, wir sind nachts angekommen & konnten daher nicht viel sehen, am Morgen haben wir festgestellt, das Bettwanzen in den Betten sind. Haben das direkt dem Management gemeldet, sie hat sich entschuldigt, aber die Reinigung, sei erst am darauffolgenden Tag möglich, weil es Zeit in Anspruch nehme ( gemeldet haben wir es um 10 Uhr morgens). Warum es nicht möglich war, war für uns nicht nachvollziehbar, vor allem weil die Reinigung am nächsten Tag um 9 Uhr starten sollte. Uns wurde weder ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, noch war Sie einsichtig im Bezug auf eine Rückerstattung. Da wir nicht noch eine Nacht in diesen Betten schlafen konnten, mussten wir daher eine andere Unterkunft buchen. Auch die Aussage, dass in der Regel das Bettwanzenproblem eher im 12 Bettzimmer sei, fanden wir eine bedenkliche Aussage. Unserer Meinung nach, handelt es sich schlicht und ergreifend um ein grundlegendes Hygieneproblem, dass dringend in den Griff bekommen werden sollte!

There is supposedly bed bugs in the rooms

De ‘bedden’ (matras op de grond) waren absoluut niet comfortabel. Ze waren goor en niet schoon. De bovenste bedden waren moeilijk te bereiken. We vermoeden dat er bedwantsen aanwezig waren. Daarnaast is er geen personeel aanwezig wat het inchecken bemoeilijkte. Ook kun je zo binnen lopen en zijn er geen kluisjes dus je spullen liggen niet veilig binnen. Het is goedkoop, maar voor de prijs die je ervoor betaald kun je alsnog basic hygiëne verwachten. We hebben ons niet veilig gevoeld in dit hostel.

They have bed bugs. My entire body is covered in red bites and now I have to find a solution to not take them home to my apartment. Also, the bins in the kitchen weren‘t cleaned so one morning the entire kitchen floor was covered with maggots!

It was run down, quite confronting really. Curtains don't go right across, so not private. Bathroom door handle doesn't work so I was trapped at 2am. Lucky there was someone awake and he told me it happened to him. Found a little creature just before bed. Didn't think much of it until the next day after I left and started scratching. That's right, bed bugs! Bitten all over my head and all over my arms and face. I sent message to owner, no reply! Met up with other lady who stayed there and had same issues.

Don’t stay in this place! Especially if you’re a female traveler! When I arrived at the hostel around 9 pm, there was no staff around only drunk people. After calling the manager a couple of times a girl checked me in and told me in what bed I was. On my bed were stuff of some one else, which she would just remove and gave me the bed. This left me wondering if the bed was even cleaned. At the second night I got bitten by something and then a saw BEDBUGS crawling next to the bed. This is disguisting!!! I was even bitten by them a couple of times. When I asked other people in the hostel about it they said the manager already new about this problem. I felt really disgusted that I got a bed in which bedbugs had been seen before. I tried to call the manager but he would never pick up the phone, and left a couple of messages but I still have had no response. I think this is very childish! you should take good care of your hostel and the people in it. I felt really alone as a solo female traveler with this problem. PLEASE DONT GO HERE!

The complete un-professionalism of the management demonstrated in the response to another guests honest review. The property was kept unlocked, meaning anyone could walk in off the street directly into the hostel and into the bedrooms. I was grateful to have a friend here with me otherwise as a solo female traveler I would have felt EXTREMELY UNSAFE. The kitchens were never clean, I saw a cleaner once the whole time I was there. Yes it’s the responsibility of the guests to do the dishes but it was way more than just the dishes. There was glass on the floor, the floor corners of the room filled with old food scraps where they had just been swept to the side. The fridge leaked water leaving anything you left in there soaked through, and your bags full. Two of the guests took it upon themselves to clean the hostel and take the bins out on multiple occasions as they were disgusted with the upkeep. Three people throughout my stay were bitten by countless bedbugs. When the issue was raised with management we were told the rooms would be fumigated which they weren’t till two days after. linen was simply changed and that was deemed a suitable fix. I wished to extend my stay for a couple days and politely asked the manager Kyle a few days prior, who said we would be able to and that he had reserved the beds. Never did we nor would we ‘beg to stay’. This was ‘confirmed’ by him multiple times. However this was not the case and if it wasn’t for the female traveler who helped out at the hostel booking us rooms we would have been ignored and left finding alternative accommodation. which I honestly wish we had done. The management is sexist and claimed to have removed us from the property for reasons that changed every time without actually discussing with us when we asked. Ignoring to the multiple calls.

Such a shame this hostel turned out to be the worse place I’ve ever stayed. First of all I have around 50 bites from bed bugs, waking up to blood on the sheets is terrible. The beds are so uncomfortable and I just felt dirty the whole time. Second of all we extended our stay to be told they booked off the beds for us. I was left without a bed for two nights because they can’t communicate with each other. Woke up to someone else being in my bed because they told them to just move my stuff. Management is shocking and just doesn’t care about the hostel at all. Thirdly, I got kicked out for supposedly badmouthing the hostel. So left me with nowhere to stay, management ignored all my calls and wouldn’t explain why I had been kicked out. I had done or said nothing wrong. I have respected this hostel and would never of been rude or disrespectful. Kitchen is always dirty, fridge is vile and the bathrooms are always dirty. Please avoid at all costs.
