Für 16 € pro Nacht im Dorm hätte ich mir zumindest ein Bett ohne Bettwanzen versprochen. Der Eingang des Hostels war im dunkeln schwer zu finden, da dieser nicht gut ausgeschildert ist und zwei Türschlösser den Zugang zur Rezeption blockieren.

EDIT after 2 weeks: DONT STAY AT HERE… my bed bug bites were persistently red, swollen n itchy (last pic). Srsly affected my daily life now… Pros: location is super convenient, metro/bus stations/cafes/supermarkets r all just downstairs. ***Cons: cleanliness is a concern, I got bitten by possibly bed bugs here (both my arms, hands, n some on my waist). I hv travelled in 40 countries so far n hv stayed at numerous hotels, airbnbs, hostels but this is the first time I got bitten so… another thing is the noise, as it’s just besides the main road, the place never gets quiet even wif the windows shut. N the toilet kept making noises (everytime u turn on the tap/shower, the toilet will make a flushing sound. This gets very annoying esp when someone is showering/using the wc early in the morning or late at night). There r also no bed curtains, offering less privacy n one might easily affect/be affected by other roommates (esp when we all hv different sleeping schedules n travelling plans). I hv stayed in another hostel in Budapest before (near the central market), n honestly I would rather walk a few more mins but stay at cleaner, quieter, n more private rooms.

I stayed here in May 2025 and unfortunately experienced a severe bed bug issue. I reported it immediately to staff. While I was moved to another room and next day manager offered laundry and skin cream, the core issue was never acknowledged. Then the manager denied it was bed bugs and refused to take responsibility. No apology was offered, and they declined a refund. Even more concerning, the original room was not properly disinfected and was still used for new guests. This was not only disappointing but also a serious hygiene concern. As someone who has traveled to 30+ countries, this is the first time I encountered such a lack of basic response to a health-related issue. I stayed at this hostel in May 2025 and was badly bitten by bed bugs. I reported it immediately to the staff, but they refused to acknowledge the issue and continued placing new guests in the same room without disinfecting it. They did transfer me to another room and offered laundry service, but never accepted any responsibility and deny it was bedbug,never apologized, and refused to refund the night. This is not just poor customer service—it’s a health and hygiene violation. If you care about safety and basic cleanliness, avoid this place. The hostel has bed bugs. When I showed them the bites, they told me was not possible because they had bed bugs a few months earlier and had it dealt with. Absolutely ridiculous. My arms and legs had bites and they tried to tell me I must have gotten it somewhere else.

I would certainly not recomend staying here at the risk of having BEDBUGS. Whilst the facilities and the layout of the rooms were quite nice, it was all cancelled out by the copius amounts of bedbugs that we encountered. My partner and i have been travelling for over 3 months now and never experienced anything even close to this. On the first night i was covered in dozens of bites/whelts from head to toe, including multiple on my face .  We were not  wanting to make a fuss and asked for some new sheets, as we thought the issue may have been  confined to  his bed. The bites continued over the next 2 nights and also spread covering my girlfriend in numerous bites. The frustration comes from the fact that the bedbugs were not isolated to us. We were overhead  in the common room speaking about how things were itchy by another couple, who proceeded to then tell us that they had also experienced a lot of bedbugs in the second level of the hostel and needed to be moved due to it (they were in a private room & we were on a dorm). The symptoms were identical to what we had experienced .  They were told that there had been a bugbed issue over the summer and then we were told that there was an issue  approximately a month ago. It is the knowledge of bedbugs in the rooms from which the extreme  frustration comes from, the hostel allowed us and other patrons to stay in a infested environment. Even once we notified the staff we were only given new sheets. Upon checking out we asked to speak with management but they were none available that day. When asking that it is not good enough that they can be aware of the issue and do next to nothing, a response of there is nothingmire that can be done. The rooms HAD been fumigated the other month and that was that. Also being told that no further people would check into our room, which was a lie as 2 people checked in the day that we notified and a further 2 the two days after we notified staff. Needless to say we virtually had no sleep over the 3 nights we stayed there and the apparent empathy we were recieved for what had happened was nonexistent and pretty pathetic. We were offer a tube of cream upon checking out. We have subsequently needed to pay for all of our clothes to be washed and purchased both antihistamine cream and tablets, all of which was at our expense. Disappointing to say the least.
