They gave me a key to my room. Clearly that door had not been able to lock for a long time. The locker under my bed could barely be lock as the brackets were installed wrongly. Could hardly find the entrance because it’s a construction zone. Nothing clean. Old dried piss under the toilet seats. Bed bug prevention receptacles under bed posts with debris??? in them. Clearly only the bare basics are done here, if that.

There were bedbugs in hostel

The hostel is well overdue for a deep scrub - so much that it is beyond the volunteers work load I believe. There were suspicious drips on the walls around my bed that were really filthy, and between the bunk and the walls there was so much filth as well. I'm surprised and happy I didn't get bedbugs. The couches in common aereas feel a bit dirty as well. Pretty loud hostel but it's calmer after 22:00. Overall not my type of place but if u like big party hostels, u might feel just at home there.

I stayed the first night in a bedroom with fourteen, which felt cramped, not very clean, and impersonal. After, I had a 8-person female bed dorm which was a great improvement: very spacious and it even had a balcony! The noises from the hostel were definitely bearable and I was able to meet quite a few people. Sometimes there seem to be more staff than people (even though not all of them were very friendly or clean), which gave a bit of a weird vibe. Also no bed bugs for me!!

Woke up with bedbug bites. Alerted the staff. The way they treated me was dismissive, argumentative and immature. They argued with me over everything, refused to refund me for the first night, laughed at me, and kicked me out of first the room, then the hostel later. They should be doing everything they can to apologize and take responsibility, considering the severity. This will be weeks of my life dealing with this, and I know because I've been through this before.(5/10 so the review displays)

I get that people complain about bed bugs, honestly you just have to expect when backpacking at this point and it’s not a huge problem. i know like one person that had a bed bug problem but what’s wrong with a little company. loved it, pub crawl deal was super great, one hour of unlimited tap was my favorite challenge. staff was great

My friend got bedbugs from this hostel but other than that I had a great time here.

Cleanliness was a bit of an issue—the common area felt somewhat grimy, and the showers could use more thorough cleaning, with some mould and limescale visible. The doors and windows are quite old and in need of maintenance. While I didn’t have any problems myself, other guests had reported bedbugs, which discouraged me from extending my stay or coming back.

The worst experience I ever had! I found a lot of bedbugs in the bed. The hostel doesn't want to return money, so apart from the disgusting feeling I have paid for that and they can continue hosting other people. Sure they told me they take seriously every such a case, but it's a lie, next to the bed there were 4 other empty beds, where no one could sleep, as I asked from the receptionist. Only in the morning I understood why, but it was too late. Neither their managers accepts the fail, saying trey do not confirm that, nor booking refunds money, absolute nonsense! If the hostel can not offer clean bed I believe SES should close such a place!

The cooking is open and around the corridors sometimes there is bad smell.

The beds are so comfortable! No bedbug problem as of jan either. Some of the toilets could be disgusting though. It was quite noisy and bright at night too, but the hostel does provide earplugs!

Nice place, but a bit dirty in toilets and showers. I like that they plan events, but I went to one and no one went besides me. Staff was either very nice and helpful or completely standoff-ish. No bedbugs anymore, so I was very happy about that

great place to stay if you’re looking for a social hostel. very easy to meet people, lots of events. was a little concerned about previous reviews of bedbugs but all was good!

Unfortunately, bed bugs are still an issue as of mid December 2024, I got bit all over. Otherwise: Cozy, cool, old hostel. Friendly staff, good common area, I found all facilities adequate, & beds comfortable. Cheap happy hour drinks & enjoyable pub crawl.

i loved the narrow stairways and wide windowsills; the building is located in magical oldtown and felt very historical itself. a cool place altogether now, there was bedbugs in a bed in my room, as there might be in a any hostel. i found the staff to be responsible on the matter; they explained their prevention protocol, let me cancel the rest of my stay and washed what i wanted washed to make sure i wouldnt be afflicted. i think they handled the situation as well as a hostel can :)

Great location & overall cozy hostel. Unfortunately our beds were infested with bed bugs so we left after one night. They had bed bugs a couple of weeks before and apparently they weren’t able to get rid of them. Staff didn’t seem to have a proper protocol in place on how to approach the situation and didn’t know that those things hide not only in mattresses but also in cracks in the bed frame etc… don’t wanna blame the hostel on the bugs but if you can’t get rid of them that’s bad …

Only writing this because I am covered in bed bug bites 😂 their cleaning system seemed a bit questionable, evidently because of the bed bugs. They also give you a key which is useless because none of the dorms lock and the choice of bed is a bit of a free for all.

The accommodation does not take care of the cleanliness, the first night I was bitten by bedbugs. I woke up all bitten, I had to find new accommodation and wash all my clothes. Days later I still have the bites, pain and swelling. I understand that for the cheap price you can't expect a lot of comfort but they should maintain cleanliness. It was a nightmare, I would not recommend it to anyone, pay a little more and go to another hostel.

The hostel is nice and located in the very center. There are some weird subjects walking around, but it is overall ok. The beds are comfortable but one of our group got bed bugs bites. The bathrooms are ok, the common areas are ok but quite dirty.

Habe mir Bettwanzen eingefangen, es war eher für Menschen, die Party machen wollten. Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit.

I have been traveling for the past 12 years and this is by far the worst hostel experience. The level of cleanliness is just sickening; disgusting mattresses with bed bugs, disgusting bathrooms with p*** all around, weird people going around, I got miraculously lucky with my roommates because they were nice and the location was good. Other than that, I strongly dont recommend this hostel particularly if you are a solo female traveler.

Hate to write this kind of review but I have been left with no choice. Hostel itself was ok (nothing special, good enough for the price) but my bed was infested with bed bugs. I have received over 50 bites all over my body and barely slept during the night. Unless you wish to have an experience of severe pain, I suggest you avoid this hostel until their hygiene levels are resolved. (Avoid room 6, one of the beds there or maybe more is in question). Ruined my experience of Tallinn completely.
