The One Hostel & Rooftop Pool Hanoi

The hostel has bed bugs and seems to have had bed bugs for a long time. And nothing has been done and staff are not helpful. The whole place needs to be fumigated. Staff didn't even say sorry about the issue when I collected my clothes. He said this happens.

I would not recommend this hostel in the slightest. My friend and I both got bitten over our bodies by bedbugs whilst at this hostel - which was confirmed by a pharmacist. We only stayed at this hostel across the time we were bitten, so it was without a doubt this location. I also saw on a Hostelworld chat that other people had this experience. I attempted to reach out to the hostel staff following this to resolve this privately and they assured us they would take pictures to verify with a medical professional. This “medical professional” was ChatGPT. absolutely do not stay here.

Please beware that there is a bed bug issue on floor 3 here- room 305 has bed bugs and that room and the surrounding ones have had the same issue for over a year now (based on previous reviews). We were then offered another room (102) where we also found bed bugs. Although the staff were helpful on the night and washed our clothes, they then shrunk half of them and asked us to not leave them a bad review 😭

Bed bugs beware!

Beware of all the bed bugs in this hostel! Bed bugs was found in our room in the beds on floor 3, so they moved us all to another room. I was put on floor 4, there was then bed bugs in this room as i woke up with woke up with bed bug bites all over me the next morning. They they said they will have to wash everything i have to get rid of them. But doing that they Ruined my levis shorts, bleach all over them, had some new white items I didn’t even wear yet come back with grey stains. Not just this but the pool was rotten and sick floating in it and i asked twice is there a net to clean the pool, they said they would get someone to clean it but never did and was still dirty days later. The private bathrooms in the rooms are so disgusting and don’t get cleaned, they are mouldy and smell bad, theres no privacy if you use the toilet or shower as its just dirty glass door. The showers in private rooms spit a tiny bit of water so i used the pool shower. The door on floor 2 was broken and had to keep getting them to come fix to let me in and the lazy receptionist boy rolled his eyes at the fact he had to get up to do this. The price went from 205k to 440k a night. There was a guy on reception with glasses and blue hair that was actually really nice and helpful and helped me to take some washing to be done and paid with his money whilst i had to wait till next day for my other clothes to be washed by the hostel due to the bed bug infestation.

This is a great hostel. No bed bugs. Not even one. And I checked the whole place. Shayna made sure there weren't not even one in my bed. Will stay again

The one hostel has bedbugs on the third floor I was in room 306. And there is reviews from summer 2025 with the same issue on the third floor. Cleanliness is not good. And staff don't seem to fussed about he bed bugs in the hostel. They did offer to wash my clothes for free. But I think that's the least they can do. You can find better hostels in hanoi without bed bugs for sure

Also the pool is dirty and never cleaned with sick in it. bathrooms in the rooms are never cleaned, and so mouldy and smelly, shower doesn’t spray much water. Price went from 205k to 440k
