the hostel facilities and food was good, looked like a resort, however know the hostel has a bedbug problem, still ongoing. two rooms were evacuated during our stay, with everyone’s stuff in bin bags and rooms just taped off, with no responsibility from staff. also sat downstairs after the bar closed on a couple of evenings and rats were straight into it, coming out with food and knocking stuff over, didn’t feel like eating there after that. stay in onederz in cambodia, just avoid the kampot one

Usually Onederz hostels are always good ones but not this one. All the beds are connected to each other, so if someone moves, everyone feels it (especially top beds). The AC is not really working even if it’s on. it was really hot during the night. No bedbugs in my bed tho.

This hostel needs to sort they’re bed bug problem, it seems that majority of the rooms have bed bugs, and they can’t solve the problem, I had seen one in my bed so they changed my room and offered to wash my stuff and gave me a full refund which i appreciate, but i met multiple people here who was covered in bites from the rooms, it’s a serious problem, after going up to the washing area aswell they had mattress laid out everywhere. I went to leave a review on hostel world and they have blocked me from leaving a review, and have also deleted reviews that have been made previously. It’s awful that they are keeping the hostel open when they quite clearly have a problem, that is causing a lot of people stress!!! The hostel it’s self is nice and in a good location so it’s a shame that they can’t sort the problem

I realise there have been recent issues with bed bugs in this hostel, but I stayed 6 nights in total and had no issues. Staff were super friendly and the pool area is lovely to chill around! The rooms are clean and simple. My only areas for concern are 1 Selfishly, I wish there was more vegetarian options in the restaurant 2 If you are on the bottom bunk the curtains still have a big gap at the top, so privacy is a bit lost there 3 A few social events like quiz etc could be put on by the hostel as I found it hard to integrate as a solo traveller 4 Bathroom to guest ratio is not great as there’s only 4 for dorms, although they were generally clean and tidy

Room 118 has bed bugs and from my experience they already knew this room is a problem because they keep anti- itch cream for them at the front desk. On my first night a girl saw one asked to be moved which they did but left the rest of us there. Being allergic means huge big red welt like bites, more than 50 all over me including my face. I had a great experience, great pool, facilities, can't really complain for the price The only downside were lack of veggie/vegan options on the menu, especially compared to the Siem Reap branch and I also spoke to multiple people about bed bugs in their room, which was concerning

J’ai directement contacté le staff pour les prévenir et changer de chambre quand j’ai vu une punaise sur le mur… on m’a changé de chambre et j’avais demandé de prévenir le reste de la chambre mais apparemment ça n’a pas été fait …

My name is Fatma Gül, and I stayed at Onederz Kampot from February 24th to 26th. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely distressing due to a serious bed bug issue that I believe was not handled transparently. On my first night, I stayed in an 8-bed female dorm (Room 119). At no point were we informed about any bed bug problem. That night, one tourist was crying because she was itching all over her body after seeing bed bugs in her bed. She reported it to the staff. However, no announcement or warning was given to the rest of us in the room. The next morning when I left at 10 AM, no one informed me either. I had already booked a 4-bed female dorm (Room 212) for the following night through Agoda. When I returned at 1 PM to check into my new room, the previous dorm was completely empty, which shocked me. My belongings were still locked inside my locker. When I asked what had happened, I did not receive a clear explanation. During the day, I started experiencing intense itching. Because the bites were mostly on my back, I hadn’t seen them earlier. After resting in my new room, another traveler told me what had happened the previous night and confirmed that my bites looked like bed bug bites. My back, stomach, legs, and other parts of my body were covered in red, swollen marks. When I went to reception and showed them the bites, they acknowledged the issue. They changed my bedsheets, washed my clothes, and gave me cream. However, I felt that the situation should have been disclosed immediately in the morning. If I had been informed earlier, I could have washed my belongings right away, stayed outside the hostel during treatment, and arranged alternative accommodation before continuing my trip to Vietnam. Instead, I spent the entire day at the hostel waiting for my clothes to be washed, with no compensation offered. I had to cancel my planned morning departure to Vietnam because my belongings were not ready. I lost time, money, and peace of mind. That same evening, I witnessed another guest reporting bed bugs in her dorm (Room 111). Some guests were moved, but others remained. This made me deeply concerned about whether the issue was fully resolved. This experience affected me physically and emotionally. I could not sleep, I was constantly itching, and I was very stressed. Even after leaving, my skin was still irritated. I am sharing this review so future travelers can make an informed decision. I hope the management takes this issue seriously, ensures proper treatment and disinfection, and handles such situations with full transparency in the future.

Currently bed bugs infection in few rooms in the hostel. Do not come right now ❌️

Le personnel est très agréable et serviable, le petit déjeuner est payant mais très bon et consistant ! La piscine est top. En revanche les chambres, sols, sdb ne sont pas si propres, humidité et odeur présente, moisie dans les douches, murs qui s’effrite dans les chambres et surtout problème de punaise de lits dans certaines chambres depuis au moins 2-3 semaines. Je penses que l’établissement devrait être fermé un petit temps pour remettre à niveau ces différents problèmes.

BED BUGS!! They are living inside a wooden headboard(s) in at least one dormitory. Woke up in the middle of the night and found multiple bites all over my body. This is a design flaw that the management can address. Either need to seal the board or replace with other wall protector. Except for the bug issue, the hostel is a good place. Very friendly staff, good food and a large pool. Highly recommend you to avoid any dormitories in this hostel until the issue is addressed.

Rats & Bed bugs! This hostel is reasonably priced and has a pool etc. however it is hard to look beyond the fact upon arrival we saw multiple rats.There is a big black container which is used for rubbish to the right of the hostel door and it is infested with rats. Every time we walked in/out of the hostel main door we saw them. Their food source was only a few steps from the hostel door. This is not ok or hygienic. We also had one run in front of us at the hostel entrance. To note none of the multiple rats we saw were skinny, they were all big fat rats ( indicating they had plentiful supplies of food ). Myself & my boyfriend were disgusted by this however, I decided to politely inform the hostel staff of the infestation as perhaps they were unaware. The staff members responded by laughing and said they were just little mice. After the incident of a large fat rat running in front of us as we entered the hostel I decided to say it to staff again to which they responded “ don’t worry they don’t come in “ and laughed again. I can only assume the rats are also eating from the hostel kitchen as the one which ran in front of us ran in the left side alley of the hostel (not the main door). Anyways this is unhygienic and not particularly fair for paying customers to see every single day. Pests are obviously a part of life however it really doesn’t take much to have pest control management in place. Further to this our room was ok but there was lots of insects in it and I have woken up to bed bug bites all over my body. Absolute nightmare getting all our clothes, backpacks etc properly washed after this.

There are bedbugs! The staff is extremely unprofessionell and unfriendly and does not care! Their „solution“ is to put the matresses in the sun, as if that would change anything. Bathrooms smell like old pee, and there is lots of mold in the showers. Absolutely disgusting! Usually people in Cambodia are so lovely and nice, but the staff in this hostel seems to be from some other evil planet. I‘ve never experienced so unfriendly staff members! They even claimed to booking.com that I hadn‘‘d shown up to prevent me from writing this review…

Great place, great environment but fix the issues with bed bug pls

I was bitten by bedbugs at this place. I rented a motorcycle, and the young man in charge claims I broke something on the bike. When I showed him the video, he went silent. Be careful of this person; he's a liar. 👎🏻

BED BUGS IN THE HOSTEL On my second night, I woke up with many bites. Another guest told me she had the same issue before and had to change rooms. When I went to reception, the staff first suggested it could be “anything” and even told me to go to the hospital. Only after explaining everything again did they move me to another room. However, I had to wash all my clothes (I’ve been traveling for 10 months, so it was a lot). The hostel only offered me the laundry with a 50% discount, and I had to pay the rest. This meant I had to wait for hours with only a bikini, which was very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the following night I woke up with even more bites. When I told the housekeeper, they checked the bed and found clear black marks from bed bugs. Again, I had to wash all my clothes. I understand that these problems can occasionally happen in hostels, but I was very disappointed with how the situation was handled. Guests should not have to pay extra costs after such an issue. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience, and I hope the management takes this seriously to improve for future guests.

SEVERE BEDBUG PROBLEM, we were moved rooms 5 times in the middle of the night and all of them had bed bugs. Ended up having to share 2 single beds in a private between 3. Staff were perfectly helpful but it cant be a newly occuring issue if all of the rooms are riddled with them and they didnt seem to know how to deal with it. SO DISSAPOINTED.

BEDBUGS!!! We stayed at Onederz in Kampot, there was bedbugs everywhere. We went to reception and they moved us however, 4 different dorms they tried all had bed bugs…. It was VILE! 3 of us ended up in a double private sharing two single beds. They refused to refund us for that night because they gave us a private, like they were doing it to be nice not that it was the only option and we were only allowed a certain amount of washing done after. Bedbugs are NOT normal, its disgusting.

Nice hostel but not social while I was there, it was a bit of a walk into the town but not to bad. The rooms were very nice and clean, dorms had keycards. I would recommend to eat other places than their restaurant. I’m not sure but I think I got bed bugs from here…

I found bedbugs in my bed

They found cockroaches and bed bugs in 2 peoples beds so we had to move rooms. Bathroom is very hot - no ac.

Lovely big beds and the staff were really nice! But sadly think there might be bed bugs as we are now covered in bites!! Plus the bathrooms were really hot all the time. Not much of a social atmosphere really as there is families staying there

Bed bugs

There was reports of bed bugs, I checked my bunk bed and it was fine. I could see bed bugs in the toilet sink and other places in the toilet. The lock system for my dorm was faulty, therefore we had to sleep with the door open, we could hear everything that was happening outside a few random people even walked in

pillow and mattress are not so good so not comfortable sleep. The most problematic part is bed bugs. Both of us got bug bites. Another issue is this hotel filled with young westerns and some of them probably got drunk and yelled loudly by the pool side at 11pm while we were sleeping.
