- Le personnel qui nest pas bilingue et la communication etait très difficile de plus l'insistance sur la présente des documents comme une carte d'identification physique pour un émigré et le refus d'une copie car il est très compliquer de marcher avec des documents originaux a ces heures la et la présente des fumeurs dans la même pièce que les non fumeurs vraiment pas bon du tout De plus jusqu'à aujourd'hui je ne me suis pas faite rembourser car au final je n'y avais jamais passé la nuit et j'espère que avec ses observations j'aurais une suite a mon remboursement Merci
- I’m really unpleased with my experience here-they did not give me my money back after I was not accepted. I was told I would receive it and it’s been nearly a month. Waste of time and money

- It was a false representation and I lost my money because they told you after you paid that it's a female dorm (only) and they never gave me a refund.
+ I did not stay. The Inkeeper turned me away because I didn't have a physical copy of my id on hand.
- It would have been nice if some kind of id verification were possible. Apparently it's a common policy for accommodations in that part of town to turn away people on this basis.
+ A very bad attitude and unprofessional services. This place is a scam full of nut cases. The staff are unwelcoming to new comers and they have a strange community between them and the leader of the staff gang is called Milan. The strange thing is that the staff support each other even when they do things in a wrong way. My food was thrown away from the fridge in the garbage by an illegal Algerian guy whom was working in this scam hostel and when I asked him why did he through my food in the garbage he was giving bull shit excuses and saying that he was cleaning the fridge! This hostel hides illegal immigrants and give them free shelter for working there for free. I don't recommend anyone to go there. A hostel full of just Algerian trouble makers, illegal immigrants, scamers and drug dealers.

- this dumb staff: you need me to pay back $ for one-night bc I did not stay there. Why? The previous night when I arrived i asked about the possibility of parking there and not on the street And I was a little afraid of thieves(Ottawa is a Satanic -pervert city!). I came the next night at 9 pm and saw there is no free spot for my car@I asked the same person, a China-bitch who gave me a receipt yesterday, and she said it was not true! The quarrel started And I called 911 to avoid the killing of these dumb staff, a few persons. The Police came and ordered me to leave (!!!).I left immediately will never book anything in this shitty city! Now, I taking legal action against this fucken dumb Police officers (three!). YOU owe me: $36 +12=48! for the night I did not spend there. This fucken dumb staff told me they cannot reimburse me but only you!

It was a really nice stay with a friendly/family atmosphere. The location is perfect and they have an information board for events and museum in town👍
The building shows its age through dated carpets and a stale scent, but the cleanliness and value are undeniable for the price. The staff maintain a professional, reserved demeanor, efficient and polite with a subtle kindness reminiscent of classic German hospitality. While centrally located near CF Rideau & Parliament Hill, the area is frequented by the unhoused, so should be aware of the neighbourhood's active nocturnal nature. Great to meet fellow backpackers to travel together :)
Good to note that there is no rule regarding noise in this hostel. There was a party in the common area and since it is an old building you can hear the music, laughter and shouting really well from the rooms/dorms. The party lasted literally all night, until 7AM. I am absolutely not joking! When I went to bed at midnight I hoped they would lower the music soon, but when I woke up around 6:30 AM (I woke up multiple times during the night because of the noise) the party was still going strong.

we had a great one night stay at this hostel. It was conveniently located near Byward market and not too far from being able to attend Winterlude ice sculptures in the park and skate on the Rideau canal. It's a very old house and could use some updates but the staff were all excellent and we had a great time!
