Airlie Beach Magnums – Adults only

The location is perfectly central to Airlie Beach. The reception doubles as an information center. There’s a communal kitchen, shared bathrooms and a laundry that’s very fast and cleans well. There’s a mini fridge in the room which is very useful to keep cool water and food. BED BUGS. I found bed bugs on my last night but I had been bitten before, only I didn’t realize. When I contacted the after hours support the service provided to me was incredibly lackluster. I was left outside my room alone for more than two hours in the cold due to the ongoing rain and lack of seating inside the room that’s not the bed, since the only solution the person at the phone could think of was to call security and have them give me… a fly spray! In the end, after 2 am and 8 phone calls later, the person on the phone finally decided to give me a new and clean room like I had suggested when I first called at 23:40. I cannot emphasize how disappointing this service was. Even the morning receptionist was appalled at this course of action. Moreover, I wasn’t offered any compensation for the treatment and disservice I received, whether a refund for the one night or a meal voucher. Luckily for me this was my last night and the bed bugs weren’t that big, but I was veeeeery dissatisfied. The room is small and very minimal, with just one blinding light. The room wasn’t very clean, there was a used contact lens right next to the bed. The bathrooms are old and not always well looked after, for example the shower in my building was a bit worse for wear, with broken pieces in the shelf area. The wifi is only limited to certain areas.

This property gave us bedbugs!! The lady at the front desk was nice enough but blamed us for bringing them in instead of trying to compensate us…thank god I took videos of the sheets and mattress where you could clearly see the infestation. Ruined my trip and the staff was not helpful or apologetic at all.

It’s a great location There were bed bugs, they moved us to a different room but we still got bit a lot.

Bedbugs galore, even in a private room. When I checked out I told reception about the bedbugs, but now they are claiming they have had no reports of this?? The guy at reception was ready to try deny it was bedbugs but once he saw the bites he could tell it was. He tried to say it might be from the creek across the street... Some of my clothes are now runined from the hot wash required to kill the bugs. I'm hoping I havent bought them back home and have to pay thousands getting my home fumigated.

Room stinks like second hand shoe, possums on roof, bush chook at windows, bed bugs, and 🌽
