Mad Monkey Manila

Very poor service for me , the bathrooms where filthy dirty the shower head was broken hanging on. Made me utterly fell sick going to go in there to wash. Was grim. I told the staff on multiple occasions yet they said they were cleaned 🧹 clearly not or I wouldn’t have mentioned it. Also my room mates where so rude had no respect for anyone playing loud music at 3 am when everyone is asleep is appalling. Not good especially when they sharing a room with people. Have some respect for everyone...

Mad Monkey Manila felt like a gay bar. Everyone from reception to guests is gay. Beds not comfy, room smelled and overall Manila is not a nice place to stay. Don’t recommend.

Would not recommend this hostel. They do not provide locks for the lockers. The showers are gross. The rooms are cramped. There are shady people in some of the rooms. The area is seedy and many people are there just to get wasted and not really to explore and travel. The one thing going for it is it is social.

Wir hatten einen Private Room gebucht. Dieser roch leider extrem nach Feuchtigkeit & Schimmel. Das ganze Bad war voller schwarzem Schimmel. Ich erwarte bei einem Hostel natürlich keinen Hotel Standard, aber für 30 €/Nacht sollte zumindest ein gewisser Hygiene-Standard eingehalten werden. Das Personal war leider nicht hilfreich, wir konnten nicht das Zimmer wechseln und haben keine Erstattung erhalten. Ich war bereits in mehren Mad Monkey Hostels, dieses ist mit Abstand das schlechteste.

Our experience was really bad about the hostel. There is only one bathroom and shower for each room and the bathroom was very tiny. Towels are not provided. The room was not spacious considering there is 8 bunks. You hear loud music from the top floor where there is a bar. The vibe at the bar was weird. One drunk guy was yelling, speaking loudly at the room from 4 am until sunrise. We went down to the reception to complain. They did nothing about it

The 'comedy' club was racist/homophobic bullsh*t, no one was laughing, please stop that cringe sh*t, let dark humor for people who are funny. Very loud music hearable in the rooms but that is to be expected

Staff were great had a lot of fun, however the amount they charge on drinks changed everytime you go they just add extra charges on

Our stay was fine but there were a couple of things that made our stay not so great. There was only one bathroom for our 14 bed dorm. You can also hear every single thing from the bar and the music didn’t stop until 4am - which usually I wouldn’t mind (it is a hostel after all) but there were paralytically drunk people both nights who came into the room at 6am speaking so loud - one of them was bought up and dumped on the floor by the hostel staff member who didn’t do anything to help

If you want to sleep on the weekend, I wouldn’t go lmao. The noise from the clubs is actually insane. I guess the rest of the week it’s fine or if you want to club lol

I was expecting more party but there was not. Food is expensive there, you can pay for a buffet breakfast is the hostel on the front for a very good price. Rooms were very small very!

Good spot just for a layover. Lots of locals hangout there and a weird amount of old couples probably of how cheap it is but found weird. Not terrible but overall mid

Staff were so friendly especially Alliana and Camille. A great place to stay for the location

The room was comfortable, and staff were nice. The only drawbacks would be that my room faced the street and the blinds were partially see through, so it didn’t feel as private as I would have liked. Also the restaurant was closed when I tried to get breakfast around 10.45 am, although the sign inside my room said it was open 7 am to 2 am.

I had a great time in Mad Monkey Manila! There was a great atmosphere and it was great value for money. Shout out to Jonny who made the stay even better!

Easily one of the best Hostels I’ve stayed at. The staff make this place what it is. Extremely kind, social, help connect people and make genuine effort to get to know guests. Go above and beyond to help and make your stay enjoyable and memorable. Going to miss them all dearly! Hostel itself very clean, great rooftop bar, great cafe and in a good location. Zero complaints. Ara, Johnny, Jay and Camille. Thanks for everything.

Mi estancia en Mad monkey Manila fue muy positiva, todo el equipo del hostal es súper cercano y agradable. En especial Ara que fue súper atenta conmigo en todo momento y se preocupo por qué me relacionase y estuviera bien.

Nice set up in a great location. The receptionist ( Camille) was also very helpful. I will definitely go back.

Nothing but good things to say about this hostel, the staff were amazing, they were so accomodating and kind. The reception were always so sweet, jay with the beautiful singing voice so amazing! The food is so delicious ,so much choice and the hostel itself is so clean. One of the best hostels ive ever stayed in. If i could give it more than a 10 star i would. All good vibes here they reall take the time to know you and remember your name, best stay ever!!

Had a great time at mad monkey in Manila. The staff were incredible and super helpful. The atmosphere was great and the facilities were really great, the cafe and the rooftop bar had great options. Camille the lovely receptionist was wonderful and super helpful!!! Great time would love to come back.

Stayed at mad monkey every time I came to Manila. Just love this place, the location, the atmosphere, the activities hosted by the hostel and most of all the staff!!! Great people work at this hostel, definitely would recommend it to people who are outgoing and love to meet new people! Big thanks to Jay, Ejay, Ara, my kuyas working at the bar and Ally who welcomes you with a beautiful smile :)) and of course everyone else at mad monkey Manila!

The staff was really kind. Especially Jay. It is really easy to connect to new people. The city tour is Verry chill and the pubcawl is a must do. Even the Security is Verry kind and really take care of you. It was one of the best hostel experiences I ever had in Sea.

The hostel was okay. The dorm was quite small but it was clean. The food was nice in the restaurant but I would’ve expected a more comfortable chill area. However, you can’t fault the staff they were great. It is a good hostel to just sleep in. :)

I absolutely loved it here. While it was a little squishy, especially in the bathroom, it was clean and had really big lockers which was great. Staff cleaned the bathrooms twice a day at least. The cafe at the bottom is quality, so is the bar. The pub crawl is a must do! And the staff are the most amazing lovely people. Shout out to Maritha who I guided the walking tour and had balut with me in solidarity even though she hates it HAHA. And Jay was so much fun, especially on the pub crawl!

Such a fun place to stay!! Jay was absolutely amazing and definitely made our stay a 11/10. Thank you so much mad monkey🩷
